IE9 problem linking to a specific tab

I have been happy with my website for almost a year now after asking a few questions relating to Tabbed panels and having my problems solved here.
But I've realised there is a problem that didin't exist before!
I have a Horizontal menu bar at the top of some of my pages and there are links that go to different pages with a tabbed panel with a specific tab opened.
However, when I click on these links, the pages open with the specific tabs opened, BUT the Horizontal menu bar which should be at the top disappears.
The banners at the top left corner disappears too and the whole tab panel is displayed at the top.(so the Tabbed panels are kind of pushing the content at the top out of the screen) When I check the html in Dreamweaver, in Live view, and try to use the link in the menu bar, it shows the same, the Tabbed panel at the top of the page with the specific tab opened. But it shows that it can be scrolled up and when I do, it shows the banners and the Horizontal menu bar.
This hasn't been happening before when I've made the website last year. I'm thinking that it's something to do with IE9 because I was using IE8 when I've made the website and Safari seems to work the same as before. Does anyone know what I could do?

If you could try jumping to "The Concept", "Her Record" or "Her Life" in the About menu or "Her" or "Stockists" in the Contact menu at the top (basically, the links which are aiming at specific tabs) you will see what I'm writing about...

I'm using windows vista 32bit and never thought that the os matters as well.
It's good to know that it works in the up to date os/browser environment.

Linking to a specific tab in a spry tabbed in Dreamweaver

Hi,
I used the following link in order to open specific tab from another page.

Everything works fine in chrome but IE shows all of the tabbed info in one continuous list. Tried to fix it by using the suggested solutions in the below link, didn't work for me.

Spry was abandoned by Adobe in late 2012. Spry didn't keep up with the mobile web and modern browsers. You'll get better results with jQuery Tabbed Panels.

Linking to a specific tab in a Tabbedpanel

I've created a page with four sections as Tabbed Panels, and
I wanted to link to a named anchor in one of the panels. I found
the tutorial at

downloaded the Spry 1.6.1 files, and set to work. On completing the
tutorial, the thing actually worked, until I closed the target.htm
file. Now, whenever I try to open that file, Dreamweaver simply
freezes. There is no way I can find to reopen the file.
Luckily, I kept a spare copy, and I've tried adding the code
a bit at a time. It's the final part at the foot of the page that
seems to cause the problem.
Is there a fix for this, or is there another way to link to
different panels in a tabbed panel box?

Hello, I used this tutorial to link to a specific tab on another page:

It works great, except I don't want to go directly to the tabbed panel. I want the particular tab to be active, but the page should load as it normally does. So the user should always be at the top of the page when it loads.
This is the link code:

As you can see, #form identifies the tabbed panel, but it also directs the link where to go. I only want to use it as an identifier, not as a navigator as well.

Remove the hash part of the URL parameter and just open the tab in the constructor

Linking to a specific sheet within an Excel file

Hi-
I'm using RoboHelp for Word and generating a WebHelp help
system. I'm using the the "ExecFile" macro to link to an Excel
workbook. This works fine, but I'd like to automatically link to a
specific tab (sheet) and cell within the Excel file. Does anyone
know of a way to do this? Is there perhaps an argument that I can
pass along with the macro to Excel to do this? Thanks!

using RH HTML. Maybe you can figure a way of tweaking the webhelp
output to do what you want.

Advice on linking to specific tabs in Accordion widget.

Hi everyone, I have followed David Power's tutorial on linking to specific tabs in an Accoridion widget.
I have got a test page working: http://fuelrecruitmenttest.co.uk/linktest.html which links to specific stories on my news page.
My problem is, I'm adding news stories in the accordion panel, so the newest story goes on the top.
Javascript counts the top panel as 0, the second panel as 1 etc etc.
So if I was to add a new panel, any previous links I have to the top panel would be to the wrong story.
My question is, Is there anyway of counting from the bottom panel up? Or any other workaround that people can think of eg: giving each panel a unique identifier so that the links remain the same even when new stories are added.

Linking to a specific spry tab in design view

hi there,
I am a dreamweaver novice and i only use design view for the most part. I am trying to make a link from some content in one tab to another tab. I looked up many such threads and they say that the spryurlutils.js is to be used. I do not know how and where to insert the script, because that area is uneditable in the code view. Open link in a new tab problem.

When I want to open a link to a new tab by pressing my mouse scroller, it just won't work. Anyone have any solution? It still works after I changed to Firefox 4 after a few days. But it didn't work now. :(

Uninstall the Ask toolbar and it should work again. There is a compatibility issue with the Ask toolbar and Firefox that prevents new tabs from being opened.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

Button link to a specific frame in time line

Ok I have created my buttons and the content for the specific
frames. I have named the button and given it an instance name. I
have also given my specific frame a name and set that label type to
Name.
Whats the code for turning getting my button to link to a
specific frame?
I've also done the stop() code in each frame as I want it to
stop at each frame until the button is clicked again.
I have more than one button and each will link to a different
frame.

I've duplicated an FLA with exactly the assets you have in
the same places, with the code on the main timeline. And mine
didn't work, just the same problem as you had. The solution I
proposed above works, but it is not the only way (See #2 below).
On Frame 1, select the UIScrollbar. if you look in the
Parameters tab of your UIScrollbar component, you'll notice that
the
scrolltargetName refers to
Instance_0. This is a default instance name assigned by the
Flash compiler, because you did not give your dynamic textfield an
instance, and your UIscollbar is referencing that. Now go to Frame
4. You will find that your dynamic textfield has the same instance
name, and the UIScrollbar is referencing the same instance. Problem
is, you have more than one textfield on more than one frame using
and referencing the same instance name, your UIScrollbars will get
confused as to which textfield is actually "Instance_0". The moment
you click to another frame, you've confused the UIScrollbar(s), so
they never work again.
The solution is simple.
First, put a stop() action on the first frame, if you have
not already done so, so your timeline stays put until you click on
a button.
Then you can solve the problem in one of two ways:
Give your textfields different instance names, and make sure
the
scrolltargetName property of each UIScrollbar refers to its
respective textfield.
Or set the text dynamically, which after all is what a dynamic
textfield is for. Have only one textfield/UIscrollbar combo, on the
first frame, and place code on a keyframe for each section which
changes the
text or
htmlText property of the textfield.
That should work. It did on mine.

Do we actually need specification tab besides label tab in material master

After designing template and all , the preview is not showing all the portion of the template .I have assigned material in the material assignment tab in specification workbench . When I was trying to print I use the same material and started the preview but it is not showing all ,only 1/5th of top portion is being displayed . I have not set up specification tab in material master

no clue waht you have done and what your problem might be, I can inly imagine. Therefore:
If you would like to print a label in GLM transaction you need a material; the material must be linked to a specifiacioin, the specification should hav e suitable genvar/language combination released and you need to have prepared LabelView. If oyu have done itr like that the "LabelDetermintation" can run.

Firefox opens Google link in the same tab (the way I like it), but I can't figure how to keep that and still have YouTube windows pop-up in a new tab. Help?

Hello, here is my problem: reading your mozilla support, I learned how to make Firefox open links in Google results in the same tab, that's the way I like it, but I still like to have my YouTube windows pop-up in a new tab (I participate in one forum, when I come to the YouTube window in some topic, I usually click on a small right-down button "watch on YouTube", and that always opens video it in a new tab; all until latest few updates of Firefox). Can this issue be corrected in about:config feature, and how? Sorry if my English isn't so glorious.

Hello. I have just tried this add-on you suggested, and no change.
And no, there was no some other add-on before, not that I know about it. Mainly, I need this option while I'm on a forum (IP board powered), it is not really something so important, but it's neat function for me.
So, to be more detailed - I read a certain topic on this forum, and some of the posts from other members contain YouTube screens (looking same as on the original YouTube page), showing the frame of a video.
In earlier versions of Firefox, I used to click on a small YouTube logo button (right side, down, between "watch on full screen" and "watch later" buttons). Clicking on this button automatically opened new tab, leaving forum tab as it is, and in new tab original YouTube page, with that certain video. In the same time, in Google search page, when clicking on a link, all links were opening in the same tab.
Now, after some of the latest updates of Firefox, I noticed that some default settings were changed - in Google search, clicking on a link always opens a link in a new tab. I have found out here on your forum how to set this back in about:config feature, and now I have again that links in a Google results page are opened in the same tab (that's the way I like it).
But YouTube screens on this forum are now also being opened in the same tab, and that is what I don't like, and trying to change back.
So, what I need: all links to open in the same tab after clicking, as I have it now, and YouTube screens (e. g. on this forum) to be opened in a new tab (by clicking on a small YouTube logo ("watch this video on YouTube").
Pedantic I am, I know that, and I know that this may look silly to some people, but if there is a way to do something, please tell me.

Opening link in a new tab disables back navigation to the first page

If I am on page A (for an example, let's say it is www.yahoo.com) and I chose a link on that page and by right-clicking open pop-up menu and choose '''Open Link in New Tab''', the page B (let's say finance.yahoo.com) opens in a new tab. Now, if I click on any link on this page B to be opened in the same tab the page (we will call it C) opens, but all options to navigate back ('''Go Back One Page''' browser button, Alt-Left Arrow, '''Back''' option on pop-up menu) appear disabled. However, if I continue to navigate from page C in the same tab to let's say page D, and from there to pages E and F, I can go back all the way to page C, but no further. It looks like for some reason the opening link in a new tab fails to put it in that tab navigation history.
I am running Firefox 4.01. It happens only on my office computer and not on any other computers I use. I had this problem before on the same office computer with Firefox 3.6. I could not get rid of it. Only after I uninstalled 3.6, cleaned all remnants of it and installed 4.0 – the problem went away. I updated to 4.01 and it worked fine for a while. But recently (I don't know what triggered it) the problem came back.

IE Opening blank white tabs when a link opens a new tab

Internet Explorer will open up and display the first page fine. It's anything that attempts to open a new tab that is the problem. I have two machines one running IE 9 the other IE 11, both Windows 7 Enterprise 32bit.
I thought maybe it was a user account problem, but both users can go to another machine and not have a problem. One of these PC's started having this problem immediately after reloading the PC after a hard drive crash. The image used has been installed on
well over 500 systems at this point with no other reports of this happening.
If I right click and choose open with a new window instead, nothing happens.
I've seen similar articles relating to KB2964358, KB2929437, KB2919355, or KB2964444, but that seems to be for IE just opening a blank white page initially. I did try these to no avail.
Another browser isn't an option. Many of the sites these users need to get to only work properly with IE, and more importantly every attempt is made by our organization to prevent end users from using other browsers.

Have you tried to reset the Internet Explorer settings:
1.Close any Internet Explorer or Windows Explorer windows that are currently open.
2. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type
Internet Explorer, and then, in the list of results, click
Internet Explorer.
3.Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
4.Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset.
5.Select the Delete personal settings check box if you would like to remove browsing history, search providers, Accelerators, home pages, and InPrivate Filtering data.
6.In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click
Reset.
7.When Internet Explorer finishes restoring the settings, click Close, and then click
OK.
8.Close Internet Explorer.
Your changes will take effect the next time you open Internet Explorer.
If it doesn't resolve, reset the default program for test:
1. Open Start Menu, search for Default Programs
and hit Enter.
2. This opens the Default Programs window. Click on Set Your Default Programs.
3. In the resulting window (the Set Default Programs window), click on
Internet Explorer and then, on Choose Defaults For This Program.
4. This will open up Set Program Associations window. Click against
Select All to select all types being displayed.

How Can I Create an Event Link to a Page Tab?

I have a portlet in one tab that generates an event. I want to be able to send this event to the same page but to another tab where another portlet resides. Here's the code snippet that creates the link. This code is part of a custom JSP tag.

But is there a way to create an event link using a specific URL?

Hi,
One workaround that i can think of is:
1. Set the <passAllUrlParams>true</passAllUrlParams> attribute in your provider.xml of the portlet on the target page/tab.(dont forget to refresh the provider)
2. If you already have the url to the tab, then you just simply construct the form in your previous portlet to post to that url with all the necessary form fields.
3. Process the request parameters and render the second portlet.
