Hi Maqsood,
>>and when i run the rsop it shows the policy has applied but it doesnt reflect on the IE.
Did we try to use Group Policy Preferences Internet Settings extension to configure the setting? Besides, what's our domain environment? If we are using GPP to configure this setting, and our server are Windows Server 2008 R2 and clients are Windows 7, we
can try to install the hotfix in the following KB article.
Internet Explorer Group Policy Preferences do not apply to Internet Explorer 9 in a Windows Server 2008 R2 domain environment
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2530309/en-us
Besides, if we used GPP to configure the security level setting, we need to make sure that the line under the setting was Green, or the setting would not get applied. If the line is not Green, we can press F6 to turn it to.

  • What does setting the internet zone security level to high actually do?

I was asked to set the Internet zone security level to high via a GPO, this has been done for a test group of users. The setting has been confirmed, but as far as I can see it has not actually done anything.
Can anyone tell me what changes I should see to the behavior and/or access of websites now the security level is set to high?

    Hi,
Setting the internet zone security level to high might prevent harmful content with maximum safeguards and less secure features are disabled.
When you visit some sites with script pop up, the script will be disabled if you set the security level to the high level. For more information about
the internet zone security level, please refer to this:

  • How do you set internet security levels?

I cannot find a menu that allows setting internet security at different levels.

You can find some settings in "Firefox (or Tools) > Options" on the Content and on the Privacy and on the Security tab. The default settings should work with all websites.

  • How to get online apps to work with the Verizon DSL modem firewall set at "Medium" level, not "Low?"

How to get online apps to work with the Verizon DSL modem firewall set at “Medium” level? Xbox 360 Live, FTP, and the Windows sntp Time checker native to Windows XP WON’T WORK unless the Verizon firewall is first reset down to “Low.” Then all works well, but I then risk low firewall protection. Setup: · Westell 6100 DSL modem (Software Version: VER:4.04.03.00 Transceiver Revision: 7.2.3.0 Model Name: C90-610015-06), · D-Link DIR-655 wireless router (Hardware Version: A3, Firmware Version: 1.21), For Xbox 360 Live the “canned” port forwarding rule for provided in Verizon’s drop-down list for the Westell 6100 modem forwards ports 88 and 3074 for both TCP and UDP. This does not meet Microsoft’s forwarding recommendations for Xbox 360 Live stated at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908874. Instead, for the Verizon modem (Westell) I made a new port forwarding rule to comply with those Microsoft instructions. It forwards ports 53, 80 and 3074 for TCP and ports 53, 88 and 3074 for UDP. These same ports are also forwarded in the D-Link router configuration. For FTP, port 21 is also forwarded for TCP and UDP in both modem and router. But they don’t work until I first cripple the Verizon firewall down to “Low.” How to get them to work with the Verizon firewall up to Medium?

While I do not know the answer to your question, BUT since you have this modem and another router - you could just follow.

  • WAP610N - Do I need to set the security level the same as the router?

iPhones and iPad don't want to connect.

Using WAP610N, you can setup a totally different network. It depends on you if you want to synchronize the settings of your router to your WAP610N. Whatever the wireless settings are, it will still have the purpose of extending your wireless network. If your iphone and ipad are not working, try to connect them to the network of your main router and check if they will work. If not then you have to check and fix first the internet connection on the main router.

  • Instructions for setting WRT54GS security to WPA2? Can't find them anywhere.

    Hi,
I'm an amateur at this, so please excuse this load of ignorant questions.
I have 2 PC clients, both Dell Dimensions 3.2GHz 1GB RAM, Wireless-G adapters. OS is Windows XP SP2
The router is a Linksys WRT54GS. I'm using the wireless ports only, at least when I'm not modifying the security settings. Then I use a temporary cable to connect one of the PC's to the router.
I also have a TiVo DVR series 3 with a wireless adapter.
The router came with a copy of Linksys Advisor. When I ran this software I was able to set the security level to WPA-Personal. However I could find no option to set the level to WPA2.
I know the TiVo supports WPA2 because I saw the option when I was configuring it for WPA-personal.
    My question(s):
Why doesn't EasyLink Advisor have an option to set the security level to WPA2? Is it just deficient, or does it check to see if the client PCs support WPA2 and disable the option if they don't?
How would I go about checking if my PCs support WPA2?
Finally, if I have to set the security to WPA2 manually, what is the procedure for doing this?
It's pretty easy to see how this can be done on the router's little web server pages; but as soon as I set the security to WPA2 there, I'm going to lose wireless connections to the PCs and I won't be able to access the router.
I know I can get there via a cable connection, but then what do I do? How do I set up my clients for WPA2?
What's a real pain about all this is that the EasyLink Advisor gives hints on how to optimize performance on secured wireless systems. It advises going to WPA2! But its Wizard doesn't give the option to do that. Its offline help file is minimal - it just says "use the wizard" and that's it.
The online help describes how to manually configure WPA but not WPA2. And the instructions for WPA are incomplete. They explain how to set up the router, but then do not explain how to use the enccryption keys when reconnecting client PCs. They just say to select the SSID in the wireless icon's connect menu, then click on connect. Where does the key go?
Thanks for your time in reading this,
    Big Al Mintaka

First of all, Windows XP SP2 can do WPA2, however it requires a patch.   Go to Microsoft Knowledge base, article ID=917021 and it will direct you to the patch.
Sadly, the patch is not part of the automatic Windows XP updates, so lots of people are missing the patch.
Additionally, be sure to give your network a unique SSID. Do not use "linksys". If you are using "linksys" you may be trying to connect to your neighbor's router. Also set "SSID Broadcast" to "enabled". This will help your computer find and lock on to your router's signal.
As to why EasyLink Advisor works the way it does - I just don't know.
To setup WPA2, you will first need to patch Windows XP, then, using a computer that is wired to the router, go into the router and change the encryption to "WPA2 - personal"  with  "AES".  Reboot modem and router.  You are correct that you will now loose your wireless connections until you update the settings in your wireless devices.
Next go into your computers and likewise change the encryption to "WPA2 - personal"  (= WPA2 = PSK2 ).   (Note:  You do not necesarily need to specify "AES" in your computers (or Tivo), but if you are given a choice between TKIP and AES, choose AES.)
To find these settings for your computers, go to the wireless software in your computer, and go to "Preferred Networks"  (sometimes called "Profiles" ).  There are probably a few networks listed. Delete any network named "linksys". Also delete any network that you do not recognize, or that you no longer use.  Delete your current network  (this will clear any old settings).  Reboot computer.  Return to "Preferred Networks" and enter your network info (SSID, encryption, and key). Then select your current network and make it your default network, and set it to automatic login. You may need to go to "settings" to do this, or you may need to right click on your network and select "Properties" or "settings".  Reboot computer.
You will need to check the Tivo manual for how to change the Tivo to WPA2.

  • NOKIA 2730c - Security Level

I've just bought this phone. I've never used a Nokia, and so I am not familiar with the interface. I've had a play around though and have figured out most of it. Regarding security, I have done the following:
    - Reset PIN and phone now asks for it at start-up;
    - Reset security code;
    - Turned on automatic keyguard, but left it so it does not ask for security code.
I'm unsure though about the Security Level setting (Menu>Settings>Security>Security_Level).
It gives 2 options, Memory or Phone. If someone could explain what this setting is for, it would be much appreciated.
Is it also possible to lock the phone to only use my sim?
Regarding the PIN at start-up, is it attached to the sim or the phone? In other words, if I change the sim, will the phone still ask for and require the same PIN?
Thank you in advance for any response. : )

here is answer from nokia web site (i underline answer)
How do I set the security level on my Nokia device?
Select Menu > Settings > Security (or Security settings) > Security level. Enter your security code and select OK.
Select Phone, and the phone will request the security code whenever a new Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card is inserted into the phone.
Select Memory, and the phone will request the security code when the SIM card memory is selected and you want to change the memory in use.
    hope this helps
    cheers!

  • Security Levels?

    Hi
In iProcurement, you can look at previous requisitions. Using the "expanded search", you can view all requisitions regardless of who entered them. Is there any way to turn this off- result being that you can only see the requisitions that you have entered yourself. And if so, can you set up security levels - ie level A can see all reqs, level b can only a certain subset, and level C can only see their own?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Yes its just like that.
The "security-level" of the interface is valid only as long as the interface is without ACL attached to it.
As soon as you attach an ACL to the interface, that ACL has to be used to define what traffic is allowed and what is denied.
There are some special cases also related to the "security-level"
In cases where you want to allow traffic to enter and leave the same interface you will need the "same-security-traffic permit intra-interface". Even if your ACL allowed the traffic, lacking this configuration would still block the traffic.
Also in situations where you have 2 interface with equal "security-level" you will need the configuration command "same-security-traffic permit inter-interface" to allow that traffic.

  • App security level

How do I set the security level of an app so it will run with admin privilege at startup?

    johnsankey wrote:
I don't know why that should matter... Anyway, the app is Psst because I don't want to have to remember to run it every time I use the computer. I get up at sunrise, the rest of the household doesn't, and cutting that startup roar of sound is not an option here.
The reason is because without knowing which app you are talking about there is no way to answer your question.
In the case of Psst, you are most likely going to have to talk to the developer who wrote it. He is probably doing something that requires additional premissions.

Is there a way to turn the security level to off through the MC. I believe if you are an admin this should be an option.

    Hi Bruce,
You can do this with a set rule and a triggering event from the MC.
I don't think there is a way to set the security level like there is to reset it from the MC.

  • The security level is set to High

    Windows 2008R2 terminal Server
    Office 2013
    Adobe Acrobat XI update 9
When trying to create a PDF from a word document (have not tried other files yet), Adobe hangs for about 2 mins and then gives the following message
The Security Level is set to High
Please run the application which created this document, in the "Security Warning" dialog select the check box "Always trust macros from this source" and enable macro's created by Adobe Systems inc
No 1. There is absolutely no need for an apostrophe in the second instance of the word macros
Have deployed the Adobe Acrobat Administrative template and enabled the following setting
'Automatically Trust Sites for Win OS Security Zones' (Elevates the trusted sites list in Internet Explorer to privileged locations so that they may bypass enhanced security restrictions. When enabled, the trust list is a union of IE's trust list and Acrobat's privileged locations list. GUI mapping: Edit > Preferences > Security (Enhanced) > Automatically trust sites for my Win OS security zones)
    - not a fix
Have exported every digital signature from the pdf office dlls and imported to the computer certificate store - not a fix
Have disabled every office macro and security setting - not a fix
Does not matter if the file being converted is on a UNC path, mapped drive, or local drive
Have added all file locations containing office docs to trusted folders in Word and Adobe - not a fix
R-Click context menus for combining and conversion work fine however I understand that this uses the Adobe PDF Printer and not the office addons
Opening a file in Word and converting to a PDF using the Addon is fine as is printing to the PDF Printer
This issue only occurs from within the Adobe Acrobat Application 'Create file from PDF' and currently only seems to affect Office documents
I cannot see how to give Adobe any more trust

    Solved
I was running Office in a 'RunVirtual' environment. This man explains it best
      http://ppe.blogs.technet.com/b/gladiatormsft/archive/2014/02/05/app-v-5-on-run-virtual-rds -run-virtual-virtualizable-ext…
Essentially Office and Acrobat are installed Natively however all Office Apps are configured to run in a Virtual environment so that Office Addins which are true AppV applications can be linked into Office.
My 'Empty' 'RunVirtual Office package did not have 'Com Integration' enabled
Adobe Acrobat makes use of a Com Addin for Office, so Office was unable to expose that to Adobe Acrobat until the 'Empty' 'RunVirtual Office package was updated accordingly

  • Setting security level of infopath files

    Hi,
At work i have designed an Infopath file and it has some code behind it which will be executed when a memo button is clicked. But when i try to preview it by hitting F5 in keyboard it shows error , so i checked the security level and it was set to auto.
When i changed it to Full Trust, it is working fine. Is it really due to the Full Trust and is there any other way we can make it work by setting the security as full trust.
    Thanks in Advance
    Arjun Menon U.K

    Hi,
Did you add Visual Studio code behind it? In that case you need to create a certificate for your file. This certificate should also be on the receving server in order to create a secure setting as full trust. One of the reasons I always try to avoid
coding in InfoPath to much hassle on the server side.

  • Setting up item level security access

    Hello,
I am new to Oracle Instant Portal and I'm trying to figure out how to set up item level security on a particular tab page. Can anyone give step by step instructions on how to make it work?
So, say that I have a tab page called HR. On that HR page, I have 3 items. For item1 and item2, I want user1 to have view access to these only, and for user2 they could have view access to item3 only.
I checked the option in the HR page's Page Access settings to Enable Item Level Security, saved the changes, and even cleared the cache, but it doesn't seem to give me any new functionality where I could specify that for item1 and item2, only user1 should have access to it, and for item3, only user2 should access it.
    Can someone please help?
    Thanks!

Please disregard--I figured out how to do this:
    1. When you are editing the page, you must click on the "Edit Item" icon next to the item.
    2. Then click on the Access tab in the upper right.
    3. Select Define Item Level Access Privileges and click Apply.
    4. In the Grant Access section that now appears just below, select the user id you want to grant access to the item and then click Add.
