IEEE 1394 Camera Not Visible in MAX

Problem Description :
I'm using the following hardware:
1. Texas Instrument OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Card ( Ratoc PCIFU2)
2. Basler 601f Camera ( NI certified)
(DCAM v.1.20 compliant)
Sofware :
1. LabView 7.0
2. Max 3.0
3. NI IMAQ for IEEE -1394 Ver 1.5
4. Vision Development MOdule 7.0
I am able to use the camera via Vision Assitant (7.0), but unable to see
the

Hello,
It looks like the MAX provider for NI-IMAQ 1394 may have been corrupted. This can usually be fixed by running a repair on the installer. You can do this by running the installer from Add/Remove Programs.
Hope this helps!

  • USB/directshow camera not visible in max/imaqdx

I've got a Chameleon USB2.0 camera from Point Grey and I'm having problems getting it to show up in MAX.
    I'm running a fresh installation of labview 2012, MAX 5.3.3f2, IMAQdx 4.0, IMAQ 4.7 on a windows 7 x64 lenovo T420 laptop.
I'm aware of the problems with registering the DirectShow filters for the Point Grey cameras:  http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/7DF278AF77461951862579AD0063B9AD
I've tried all of the various driver versions from Point Grey, and currently have installed the v2.4 x86 version
The camera is visible using AMcap, a lightweight DirectShow viewer, so it seems that the camera is operational and the DirectShow interface is functional.
I had an older version of Labview installed, and the camera was visible in MAX.  I wanted to upgrade versions but didn't use the NI update service and just downloaded the various files from the website.  About the time I upgraded MAX to 5.3 the camera disappeared from MAX.  I assumed some problem with the upgrade, so I completely uninstalled both Labview and the camera drivers and tried a fresh installation, but I still can't see the camera in MAX.
Any ideas about how to get my camera to show up in MAX?
    Thanks!

Did you find anything?  I have two Mightex USB cameras hooked up and believe that I might be having the same problem.
I can actually get both devices to show up in AMCAP, but the 2nd camera that I have hooked up to the computer doesn't show up in NI-MAX.
I have spoken with the camera manufacturer and they have verified that these DirectShow drivers have worked on old versions of LabVIEW.  Please get back to me if you know anything regarding this error.

  • NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 cameras under LabVIEW 6.1

I just purchased this driver for Firewire cameras and got the latest version 2.0 that seems to only work for LV 7 and higher. Which version works for LV 6.1 and where can I get it? (Older versions of these drivers don't seem to be available under the driver pages at ni.com in the usual place.) I suppose i need to "downgrade" now. Any insights?

    Hello bernhardschnurr,
Thank you for using our discussion forums. You will have to use NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 cameras ver 1.5.3 or earlier for support for LabVIEW 6.1. These drivers are not available for download on our website. I would recommend contacting your local NI support and they can help you get these drivers. Please visit http://www.ni.com/support/ and choose to phone NI.

  • Is there any way to interface an IEEE 1394 camera to LabVIEW 8.0 without buying the new vision software package?

Is there any way to interface an IEEE 1394 camera to LabVIEW 8.0 without buying the new vision software package?  We upgraded to LabVIEW 8.0 to use a new NI Digital I/O device, but we do not have the budget to upgrade the camera driver for 8.0?  Is there any other way to interface an IEEE 1394 camera to LabVIEW?
    Thanks,

I think this is possible if there is an SDK delivered with your camera or
you use the Windows 1394 video driver for handling this.

  • Solaris 10 x86 Firewire (IEEE 1394) camera frame grabbing

How do you do frame (sequence) grabbing from Firewire (IEEE 1394) camera on Solaris 10 x86? What API can I use?
XIL documentation doesn't seem to mention Firewire cameras specifically. And I tried to compile Linux libdc1394 on Solaris 10 x86, but got errors.
    Thank you.

  • NI PCI 5102 not visible in MAX

    Hi all
I've got a problem on a testrig. I use a PCI 5102 high speed digitizer to acquire a signal. Since this morning, the acquisition and processing of this signal has slowed down and now it takes twice as long as before.
What could be the cause of this problem?
During searching for a solution on the system, I found that the device is not visible in MAX. Two weeks ago, I updated the testrig to LV8.0, which means that I made a single installer - more information to this can be found in this thread:
    http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=164285&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
As said, I installed this approximately two weeks ago and it ran without any problems until this morning. So I wanted to test the card in MAX so that I maybe find something, but firstly it took a relative long time to open the Items and Interfaces node and secondly there was no item in. No PCI 5102, no Fieldpoint modules, no serial ports - although I use these devices in this app.
Is this maybe related to my original problem of the massively slowed down acquisition?
Any fast answer that helps to solve the problem is really highly appreciated, as this testrig is part of a production line.

    Using LV8.0
Don't be afraid to rate a good answer...

    Thomas,
I'm not sure why your 5102 measurements are slowing down, but I do have
a likely solution to your issues with MAX.  Hopefully fixing MAX
    will remedy both problems.
    1) Browse to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX.  There is
a folder named "Data" that has the configuration info for MAX.
    2) Delete the "Data" folder after making a copy on your desktop (it is
rare, but in some cases it may be useful to recover old
configurations).  If Windows won't let you delete the folder, try
ending the nimxs.exe process from task manager.  If you have any
tasks or scales saved in MAX, they will be deleted in this step.
    3) Reboot your computer and open up MAX.  This will force a
refresh of all configuration information for your system, and will most
likely clear up your problems with MAX.
Please let me know if this works for you, and if this fixes the issue
with your digitizer as well.  If this doesn't help, there are
other debugging steps that we can try.
    Thanks,
    Travis W

  • AVT Marlin IEEE1394 camera not shown in MAX

    Hi everybody,
i have an existing PXI system running with WinXP, a IEEE1394 camera and IMAQ for IEEE1394 and NI-Vision software. That runs fine. Now i am forced to update to Win7 and i try to get it run again...
I have a AVT Marlin IEEE1394 camera connected via a ExpressCard-FireWire adapter to my PXI system. The adapter is shown in Windows device manager under tree item "IEEE1394 Bus Hostcontroller" as "OHCI-compliant Texas Instruments1394 hostcontroller", the connected camera appears under tree item "NI IMAQ interfaces" as "NI-IMAQdx IIDC digital camera". But when i open NI-MAX the camera is not shown there. Under tree item "Devices and Interfaces" there are only the PXI chassis, COM, LPT, PCI-CommunicationController and NetworkDevices, but no camera. I installed the AVT driver package and got access to the camera with their demo tool, but with AVT driver the camera even does not appear in windows device manager. However is has to work with IMAQ.

I just got it working with DV camcorder today. But I haven't update my
website. I need to do a final test over this weekend. On next Monday I
will post an update in m
y website. So far I've tested on Cannon ZR45MC
DV camcorder and it worked fine. I can capture the live video or tape
from the camcorder through firewire and sample the image data out of
it. And was able to remote control the recording action.

  • How to grab two IEEE 1394 cameras simultaneously?

Is it possible to grab two or more firewire cameras simultaneously? I have two Sony XCD-X710 cameras and they are both connected in same card in PC. Grabbing works fine with only one camera, but when trying to grab two cameras simultaneously, the computer will crash. Sometimes it crash immediately and sometimes it takes few seconds to crash.
Used frame rate is quite low (about 3.75 fps).

It is definitely possible to acquire from two or more firewire cameras simultaneously, as long as you are not exceeding the bandwidth of the firewire bus (which you should not be at a frame rate of 3.75 fps).
What version of the NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 driver do you have? There were some issues with version 1.1 of the driver with certain cameras and simultaneous acquisition, and these were resolved in version 1.5 of the driver. If you have not yet upgraded to version 1.5, contact NI Sales at (888) 280-7645 for a free upgrade.
If you already have NI-IMAQ for IEEE 1394 version 1.5, please let me know and I would be happy to assist you further.

  • Camera not visible in Finder

Just installed 10.5.1 and iPhoto update.
When I connect my camera to my iMac, iPhoto opens....but the camera is not visible in the Finder !
Any suggestions ? Or is this a new bug?
    Best regards,
    Roeland

You are asking about iPhoto on your Mac, right? And not about iPhoto on your IOS device? This is the iPhoto on IOS forum. I have asked the community hosts to relocate your post to the iLife iPhoto forum - you will get more help there.
What is your iPhoto version? Assuming you are having iPhoto '11, you'd should see the photos in the iPhoto Library package using the Finder, if they are there; but dont move them, only browse them, if you can  find them.
Reveal your iPhoto Library and in the Finder; it is probably in your "Pictures" folder, ctrl-click it, select "Reveal Package Contents". In the Finder window that will pop up, select the "Masters" folder. This scores the original images, organized by the date of the "Import Session" o f the event.
If your images are still there, I'd copy - not move! - them to a folder on your Desktop and then try to rebuild the iPhoto library. Make a backup of the iPhoto library, then hold down the key combionation option-command and select "rebuild database" from the dialog that pops up.

  • Goepel PXI-3220 not visible in MAX

I have installed 2 goepel pxi-3220 cards into a NI PXI-chassis. But there arent visible in MAX. The drivers in the windows device manager are present and working fine. I would like to have these two cards visible in MAX. Does anyone have any experience with these analogue output cards?

    Hello,
Only devices that were produced using the VISA driver development Wizard are viewable in MAX. If the 3rd party manufacturer did not use our driver wizard, then the device will not show up in MAX. If that is the case, the card must come with a programming API and also some sort of configuration program. It sounds as though the drivers and are installed correctly since you see them in the device manager.

  • Firewire camera not found in MAX on Windows 7

    Hi all,
Used to run a firewire camera on Windows XP with no problems. Using version 8.6 and do not want to change this if at all possible. New lab PC runs windows 7 and firewire camera not found in NI MAX. The drivers associated with the camera are NI-IMAQdx IIDC...
NI-MAX does not even show a NI-IMAQdx camera and there is no way to add such a camera. The same issue arises for an AVT Guppy camera suggesting it is not camera dependent.
Has anyone any suggestions as how to rectify this. We have full development software v8.6 with all the appropriate drivers and modules required as it previously ran problem free on an XP machine.
    Cheers,
    leeser

    Hi Leeser,
Which version of the driver did you previously have installed under Windows XP? It would be worth trying to re-install the latest version of the NI-IMAQdx driver. You will be able to install the Vision Acquisition Software 08.2010, which works with LabVIEW 8.5 and later (and installs NI-IMAQdx 3.7).

  • PC thinks my iPhone 3GS is a Digital Camera, not visible in Itunes

    Hope someone can help
I bought the 3GS iPhone 32gb today and went to register on my PC and when connected to the uSB ports it was detected as a camera and only gives me the option of Photo Shop etc
It is also visible in 'My Computer' as a camera
I tried various USB ports as I believed only half where USB 2.0 the same happened after each restart, so I bought a new PCI USB 2.0 card and tried it through that with the same issue.
The Iphone works normally on another PC but obviously I want it to sync to my PC and Music
    Latest version of Itunes installed
    Restarted comp several times
Closed various security software on my PC temporarily
    Any help much appreciated

This is normal; it IS a digital camera, and this is how you get photos off it.

Open Task Manager (CTRLSHIFTESC), click on the Processes tab and the Image Name column to sort on name. Then look for AppleMobileDeviceService.exe (AMDS). If it is present then your problem is most likely a USB driver problem; try updating the USB drivers. If it is NOT present go to Control Panels, Administrative Tasks and launch Services. Find the entry for AMDS, right click on it and choose Start.

  • Date stamp from mDV camera not visible on viewer  , nor recorded.

Though the data code is pressed till the date and time stamp is visible on the camera Display,
it is not received by final cut pro.
For some projects they want some time and date stamped , sequences.
    Can anything be done ?

Date stamp data is not something read by FCP ... try iMovie,
Alternatively, check the camera's output options, it may be possible to output the data burnt-in on the s-video or some such ... if you have the requisite i/o hardware you could then digitize from that signal path
