Movie has been loading since Wednesday?  Will it still keep loading or do I need to start again? Would I have to pay again?

AppleTV works better with fast internet connections.
To start near instantly you need:
8 Mbps for 1080p HD
6 Mbps for 720p HD
2.5 Mbps for SD
Test your internet speed at speedtest.net on a computer.
Much slower for a given qulaity and the movie has to 'buffer' which will could take minutes if you're close to the speeds, or hours/days if much much slower.
For example with a 4.5 Mbps I usually wait 30-40 mins for an HD rental to be available.
The black AppleTVs have no permanent storage and will lose a buffering rental if you use it to watch YouTube, local itunes content etc so best not to interrupt it when buffering or it has to restart.
However if it's been doing this for days it may be stuck (or your connection is very slow). Personally I'd restart the unit.  I have interrupted a buffering video and found it to get stuck when restarting with recent software.
Is the 'time to watch' estimate changing?
If you've already started to watch it it's probably expired, if only rented and viewed the loading screen your probably ok (30 days to start watching, 1-2 days to watch once started (eg 1 in US, 2 in UK)).

    What operating system are you running? I assume they had you install the latest BIOS. True? If it were mine, I would suggest forcing it to use integrated graphics (in the BIOS) to rule out a problem with the NVidia driver.

    Just in case someone else stumbles across this:
    I experienced the same problem - no real idea of the cause, though it appeared after an unexplained BSOD on a Vista machine (which in turn happened after I had to clone then swap out my existing C drive - all had been running for a few days after the drive swap - I'm usually 'on' 24/7, but this time period had included several voluntary reboots, so all appeared to be functioning OK after the swap, before the BSOD.
    Anyway, after reading many threads similar to this one, my own fix was stupidly simple and has proven to be 100% effective: I simply went to Mozilla and downloaded the current version of Firefox - I then just let it do its own thing and 'upgrade' my current installation, and a few minutes later, Firefox is up and running with all of my setings, add-ins etc fully intact and operational!

  • I bought a movie three days ago.  It begins to download from the cloud, then my iPad goes to sleep and when I open it again, it starts downloading from the BEGINNING.  How do I get the WHOLE MOVIE to download?  I have re-booted but that didn't help.

    I can't seem to figure out how to download a movie.  It begins to download (and yes, I've checked my download speed and my bandwidth and both should, in theory, be adequate to download a movie!) but then the iPad will go to sleep and when I get back to it, it shows that I have bought the movie but nothing is downloaded.  And when I try to download the next time, nothing is saved and it starts again from the beginning of the download.
    I sat down by my iPad while I was working and every few minutes I would swipe to turn it on and it got over half of the movie downloaded.  But then I had to go to leave and now it shows nothing is downloaded.
    I can see having it take a few hours to download IF one was able to just start the download and walk away and come back later to watch the movie.  But to have to repeatedly begin from the start of the download is incredibly frustrating.  I would want my money refunded to my iTunes account at this point, if I was able to do that.  It's just not worth the hassle.
    Suggestions?  How does one download a movie from iTunes?  It should not have to be this hard!!

    See if you can redownload it.
    Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
    If you can then delete from your iPod if you can and redownload.
    If you can't delete from iPod, go to to iTunes>Store>Check for Available Downloads on your computer ,  amd dpwnload and sync

The App description did not say anything that it would not do what I was trying to do. I wrote sup[port and asked if they could issue a credit. Mari at support wrote back and said he checked with his supervisor and they could not issue a credit.  I told them what a good loyal customer I have been to Itunes and Apple and they still refused.  Granted the App did not cost a lot of money (3.99) but it’s the principle. With customers having options to shop anywhere I would think a business would do whatever it takes to retain the loyal customers they do have Occasionally I rush to buy an App without fully understanding if it meets my needs. According to ITunes support that has occurred nine times. Here is the last reply that I received Roger, I know how frustrating it can be when things don't work the way they should be  and I do apologize for the inconvenience that this may have caused you. I am sorry but we could not be able to grant your request as we have made 9 exceptions on you.     You've already had 9 refunds? You understand that apps are sold on a non-return policy, presumably. You bought an app that didn't claim to do something that you wanted from it, and now that you've found that it doesn't, you want your money back.
    Perhaps you've failed to explain your point properly but I can't see why you expect any sympathy from users here, not that it would make any difference. Only the store staff can issue refunds if they think appropriate. Chalk it up to experience. You could even contact the developer in advance of a purchase if you want to be certain an app does what you want. Then if it really fails to live up to the promise you would at least have a better argument for a refund.

I just got all the DVD's for a lot of money, but I can not play any of them on my MAC book.(I think that is because they were burned on zone 1 dvd's and my lap top works with zone 2.
    I wonder how I can make them work on my macbook..? I intended to start editing those movies so I need to be able to play them on my mac. Is there a way to copy them to zone 2 DVD's and or to zone 0 dvd's and where do I get those free zone or zone 1 recordable dvd's?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    The Apple TV 2 will play all the content in your iTunes library that your Apple TV 1 does. It can no longer sync any of it but can stream it all just as the older model did. Airplay is a different feature that lets you stream from an iPad/iPhone, the Apple TV 2 has Airplay the first didn't.
    You can still sort and search content by genre, it still marks content watched and unwatched and mainly still lets you organise much as the Apple TV 1 did, with one exception. It doesn't do nested folders, so the ability to tag a movie as a show (ie James Bond) and have all the associated movies in a James bond folder has gone and it lists all these movies individually.
    It has a similar situation with TV shows. It will put all TV shows in a series in a folder as the older one did, but the new one lists each series separately whereas the older model would put all the series in one folder.
    Not nesting folders is a bit of a pain with large libraries and whilst I don't like it, it's more or less the only compromise I have to make and of course I get additional features too.

    It seems your music library was messed up. If the music have been synced on your iPhone once, then it's still possible to get it back with data recovery app. Below are the steps on how to recover your music from iPhone:
    1. Download and run iPhone recovery app
    2. Connect your iPhone to the computer
    3. From the menu bar, choose Recovery from iOS device
    3. The app will scan the lost music on your iPhone and display found items
    4. Select a local folder to store the music you'd like to recover
    App download and overview can be found out here. The good thing is that you can recover specific items as you want instead of recovering the whole device if you use iTunes or iCloud.
    The process takes a bit of time depending on how many files your iPhone currently has. It's good recovery app that i have used a couple of times to restore my lost contacts and photos.

    I did that too, then I did a migration assistant to a new Mac and ALL of my movies have Source Clip Missing now, even though the original clips are still in the iPhoto Videos.  I can stand to re edit one or two projects, but not ALL.

    3GB for a movie? That's almost equivalent to an original DVD. 
    Have you checked in the Recently Added playlist?
    I think this is possibly linear.  Select 'normal' in HB, iTunes accepts it; select 'high quality' in HB iTunes doesn't.  I can't say why; I don't have any video that anywhere approaches 3GB in size.  If that's how iTunes behaves I don't see you have too many options.  You either select normal and it works, or you select HQ and live with playing the movie outside of iTunes.
    I won't ask what movie because any help with illegally ripped copy protected DVDs is strictly prohibited by the Terms of Use so I'm assuming this is a 6 hour video of your puppy playing on the floor.
