If an iPhone is turned out will find my iPhone work?
My iPhone does not hold a charge. It was stolen last night. Find my iPhone app shows it offline. Will it shoe online once it is plugged into the charger?
If it is on and has an Internet connection, it should.

Will "Find my phone" work for wi-fi only iPad 2?
My wi-fi only iPad 2 is set up correctly - exactly as my two iPhones which work perfectly. MobileMe is working fine across all devices.
I go through all steps to enable "Find my iPhone" on the iPad, but the iPad will not show as a device. My two iPhones show up and locate fine.
Looking at another thread, I saw a comment that you need 3G for this feature. On another thread someone said that you could find iPad with w-fi only but not as accurate as it can't use GPS. Apple website KBs and troubleshooting don't say one way or another.
Can anyone verify whether or not I can use "Find my iPhone" to find my wi-fi only iPad 2?

I've tried all sorts of things including deleting and re enabling my Mobile Me account and then thought maybe it just didn't work on the wi-fi model. Since you say it does, I'm stumped as to why I can't get it to show up.
I've spent so much time trying to get it recognized that I was almost hoping you'd tell me it wouldn't work with wi-fi only so I could let it go. Now I have to get back at it to "solve" the mystery at least.

My family has one apple ID and multiple devices on that account. Is it possible for my wife and I to use Find Friends this way or does she need another apple ID? When I put the app on her phone, it thinks it is me. We want to use the app to locate one another.
Use "find my iphone" for one apple id and "find my friends" for multiple id's.

With FileVault enabled will Find My Mac work?
If a Mac laptop has FileVault enabled on Lion will location services like Find My Mac be able to locate a lost or stolen Mac laptop?
If not then the data on one's laptop would be secure but you'd probably never get your laptop back.

As FileVault 2 requires a passphrase, so the guest user can neither start the system, nor log in to a system that is already started. -

thanks.- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up. Of if FinfMyiPod was turned off
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

i bought an iphone 5s at auction new and sealed, but once i set it up it turns out its blacklisted is there anything Apple can do I still have the receipt for it
If you got it from eBay open up a case but review the details of the auction prior to doing so. Sometimes in the details it'll say in very small print what model or "will not work in the USA."
Another option you have is this: Find someone who will buy it from you for use overseas. Depending on the amount you paid, you may actually make money on it. Example, I do this for not for blacklisted phones. I have a contact in Bolivia and iPhones sell like hotcakes! Again, it's all on who you know.
Check on Craigslist or Ebay for unlocking or using a blacklisted phones in the US. Some hackers/CPU nerds can find a way to flash your phone to work. Not sure how that works but if returning it fails, that may be your only other option. -

According to the "Lost Mode" anytime the device is turned back on or able to receive a signal the phone will lock itself down and it's position will be updated to show its last known location.

I changed my ICloud account ID but my new phone won't let me change it unless I put in my old password and turn off the find my phone feature. But the phone will not recognize my old password. Can someone help me?
New iPhones don't come setup with an Apple ID/Password. What you're experiencing is called Activation Lock, & unless you know the original Apple ID/Password that was originally used to first activate this phone, you won't be able to reactivate it.
You can login to iCloud.com, from any computer, use Find My Phone to locate & erase the phone. But, you'll still need to know the original Apple ID/Password to reactivate it. -
I have forgotten to turn off the FIND MY iPhone appplication before i reset up the phone, Now it's asking me to verify with apple or icloud ID but when i entered the same ID which was registered with itune & icloud, It says INCORRECT. It's been already 03 days, I am asking help with apple care centre, UAE, Head qurter, UK, USA but they are just sending me a link to reset up which still doesn't work. I have changed my Apple ID name and I want to change it on iCloud, however I am not able to delete the previous account because I need to turn off the Find my iPhone - and for that I need to log in with the old name and that is not working. Help anyone?
