If Html 5 not supported, Flash Fallback

I want a fallback to my edge animations if the users browser doesn't support html 5. I'm talking about animations NOT video. I created the same animation in flash and now I just need to know how to dynamically switch it out. I assume this is going to need to be done with JavaScript which I'm not very knowledgeable on.

There are a few posts about it and you can search the forum. Also here is a great article about browser detection.

Why does the iPad not support flash player? I would like to watch programming from att uverse but cannot because of this restriction

Because NOTHING that is iOS supports Flash. Never has never will.
The only possible option is to try the Skyfire browser from the App store. It is an internet browser that converts flash to HTML 5 so that you can attempt to view it on iOS devices.
I have never tried it so I can tell you if it is any good, but it has gotten decent reviews.

  • Firefox mobile 6 is still not support flash playing?

Waiting for several months, ff6 mobile is still not support flash playing...have a bit disappointed!

Adobe and Google made several non standard changes to the standard plugin system. This has required the engineers working on Firefox mobile to try and understand the changes without any guidance from Adobe or Google. This takes a lot of effort and is not trival.

  • Why not support Flash CC 2014 player 10.01 and older?

Hello, why not support Flash CC 2014 player 10.01 It should count on the fact that it will also create banners for Google. Install old version of CS6 is not a good way. Do something about it.
    Google say: Important
Currently only AdWords Supports Adobe Flash Player versions 4 through 1.10 If your ad uses any other version (such as 10.2), it can not be uploaded.
    What to do?

    Hi,
You may want to add the older player targets by following the steps described at Adding Flash Player 11 support to Flash Pro CS5 and CS5.5

  • Why do these N series phone NOT support flash wall...

Hello- I am curious as to why these apparently "high end" handsets do not support something as simple as flash (.swf) wallpaper ??
I love the N85 and was hoping to buy one but I then found out that it (among others) does not support flash wallpapers.
I am wondering if this is a compatibility issue with Symbian ??
Does anyone know why this is ??
Now before anyone says anything I am referring to flash wallpapers, NOT screensavers, these handsets do support flash screensavers but NOT wallpapers !!
    Thank You, LL-

If they do it for the S40's then why not the S60's ??
The S40 software and S40 devices are done by a different organization/team in Nokia than the S60 software and S60 devices.
Different organizations have different priorities, different resources, different goals.
There's nothing technically that prevents it from being done. And it is possible that some day it will also be supported in S60 based devices.
However, as things are now, S60 based devices do not support Flash [Lite] wallpapers.
I haven't seen any user-installable applications that'd enable such a function, either. I suspect it is next to impossible to write such an application anyway, without the support being part of the S60/Symbian operating system.

  • I have over $5k on apple products...I love all them, but iPad not supporting flash is very frustrating! When apple will address this short come?

I have over $5k on apple products...I love all them, but iPad not supporting flash is very frustrating! When apple will address this short come?

Probably never : http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ . Plus Adobe have never managed to make a version of their flash player that works on iOS devices, and they have recently announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store, and there is the built-in YouTube app.

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.

  • Why do iPhones/iPad not support Flash Player/Java and what are my alternatives for browsing sites using these plug-ins?

Why do iPhones/iPad not support Flash Player/Java and what are my alternatives for browsing sites using these plug-ins?

There are also iSwifter, Photon, Skyfire, etc., some only support Flash some support Java and Flash.
Adobe never made a version of Flash for iOS and closed their mobile flash division a couple of years ago. You can get Flash on other personal devices but you will be using a 2 year old version that has not been patched for security vulnerabilities.
When the original iPhone was released Mr. Jobs said it would never run Java as it was old technology and a security risk. Nothing has changed since.

  • Since the iPhone does not support flash player, is there another option to download without jailbreaking the phone?

Is there another option for the iPhone that is similar to flash player? As we know flash is not supported.

  • Why does Firefox not support flash in Vista any more?

I have a laptop with Vista on it and all year long I have had a hell of a time putting up with the new glitches in Firefox.
I simply want the damn thing to be able to use the flash plugin. Every single ******* time Firefox updates, I lose the ability to view flash content. Clicking on the "install missing plugins" logo takes me through *seemingly* successful installs, but it doesn't really install and the next time I load firefox it still says "click here to install missing plugin."
I have also downloaded the executable from adobe and run that (as an administrator, with firefox closed out) and I still get a *successful* installation that results in total failure, e.g. it's still not installed.
Several firefoxes ago I found a website where I could download the two files needed (the dll and the other file) and I manually placed them in the plugins folder which allowed me to use flash until the damn update to the next firefox release wiped it out. The place I downloaded those files from no longer hosts them, so I'm SOL.
Please either start to support Vista again, or declare that you aren't going to. I'm sick and tired of firefox nowadays, even though I've been using it since before version 1.1.
Please, please, please just fix this problem.

There are 2 versions of Adobe Flash; an '''ActiveX version''' for IE only and a '''Plugin version''' for most other browsers including Firefox. On a Windows system, you should always update both individually. '''''You do not have the Plugin version installed in Firefox; if you did, you would see "Shockwave Flash (version)" in Add-ons > Plugins.'''''
#'''Using Firefox''', go to the following direct download link and SAVE the download to your desktop so you can find it later: http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe
#When the download is finished, close Firefox (File > Exit '''''OR''''' Firefox button > Exit)
#Click or double-click on the file you just saved to your desktop
#*In the installation window that appears, click the box to the left of "I have read and...." to place a check mark in the box
#*The "Install" button in the lower right corner will now be highlighted, click it.
    #*The installation is quick.
#Start Firefox and test your installation here: https://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/
#Direct link ActiveX version for IE '''''only''''': http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe
<u>NOTE: You no longer need to place Flash components in the Mozilla Firefox\plugins folder. Doing so, will leave you with an outdated plugin and a possible conflict between competing versions of the Plugin.</u> Most current plugins are recognized by/installed into Firefox through Windows registry entries. In a clean installation of current Firefox versions, the plugins folder is no longer created in the Mozilla Firefox program application folder. However, the folder can be created and any plugins placed there will be used. It is best not to have the plugins folder unless absolutely necessary to make a particular plugin work.
You can get both versions on the following page, but there is no link directly to it. Click on item ''6. Download and install Adobe Flash Player (Firefox)'' near the top of the page, then scroll down to "Advanced Troubleshooting" just following the Firefox information; the links are in item 1 under that heading:

  • Why not support flash option as other browsers do?

The web faired just fine before the "big boys" got into their proprietary quable over Html5.
Why must Mozilla become part of that folly?
Newer players (Dolphin HD, I.e) have moved on, and support developer options, not some manufactured stand off between "big boys".
It is really a bummer to see your browsers coking on content which is standard by past practices. I guess it can all be tracked back to: Flash still trumps html5!

Flash runs perfectly fine in Firefox, I'm not sure I understand what you are having a problem with?

  • AS3 Components dissappear from stage when viewed in HTML but not in Flash Player app

I'm really hoping someone can help me here. I've been working
on a project for a while now (still very new to AS but I'm getting
there) and am supposed to be showing an initial release tomorrow. I
have a main app (Application.swf) that contains all the business
logic classes. Application.swf then loads Skin.swf which contains
all of the GUI widgets & design. The idea is that Skin.swf can
be swapped out for Skin2.swf and customized if desired.
    Skin.swf contains 2 AS3 components: ComboBox & DataGrid
When I test Application.swf the components appear and work
fine. When I double click Application.swf and open it in Flash
Player.app (standalone flash player from Adobe) the components
appear & work fine. When I export to HTML and view
Application.swf in a browser page the components are both
completely missing. Not that they are present but have no data,
they are just completely absent from the stage.
I can't figure out how this could be the case unless maybe
there is a security setting somewhere that's triggered by the .swf
    running in a browser.
Any help would be HUGELY appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Cliff

Figured it out. Change wmode to opaque. I just wasted hours
    on this retarded bug.

  • How do I download adobe flash 9.0? MY SAMSUNG GALAXY2 TAB SAYS IT DOES NOT SUPPORT FLASh 9

how do i get adobe flas 9.0 on my android tablet. message says my device does nit support it.

That message is just a standard one issued, mainly for Windows users, you can disregard it if you didn't install any anti-virus. (OS X has one installed by Apple that doesn't interfere)
It's just some forms of anti-malware are really paranoid and lock the entire machine down. (like Norton)

  • Apple not support Flash for iPhone?

    Hello,
I have my clients with flash website & looking for flash facily but I am not able to operate flash in iPhone. I am operating one of the best web design company from the cell phone for QA & other stuffs.
Can any one guide me how to supoprt flash in iPhone?
    Thanks,
    Arun Nair

Adobe ceased development of Flash for all mobile devices over a year ago. There will never be Flash for iPhone.
If you run a web design company I don't understand how you could not know this. It has been reported and discussed widely for over a year.

  • My iPad does not support flash player. What can I do to listen to Finnish radio on the iPad?

Help! How can I listen to my beloved Finnish radio on this new fangled iPad? To listen to it I require flash player. Any ideas?

For general internet radio listening I recommend TuneIn Radio, either the free or paid Pro version.
If by Finnish radio you mean Yle they have an app available, they even direct you to it when you first surf to their website.
