Shame about that, iPhones are going to get as annoying as Nokia's if you can!

" When I did this, my library showed all the music I have "purchased" from itunes but did not have the music that I downloaded a long time ago through itunes from my old CDs."
    Correct.
" How can I get that music to show up in my library now on my new computer?  "
Copy it from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
The sync is one way - computer to ipod.

  • Is there a way to make a smart "playlist" of specific books in my iTunes library, and copy ONLY THOSE books to an iOS device? I own an iPad and an iPhone but I want different books on different devices.

There is no playlist for iBooks, butther eis nothing to preent you from choosing to download specific titles from itunes, or syncing just specific titles to an individual device.

Is there a way to make itunes autostart with windows in mini mode i.e the taskbar player mode where it is most less obstrusive . itune takes a lot of time to start under windows

Just delete the same songs from your library in iTunes.  Select the first song, hold the shift key, select the last song (which will select everything in between) and press delete.

You don't provide enough info to answer.
What computer model and what operating system?
What version of iTunes is currently installed?

  • Is there a way to make the music that plays on my iPhone 5 sound like it does on iTunes?

I notices that the music that is played on iTunes sounds a lot clearer than it does when I listen to my music on my iPhone. Is there any way to make the music on my iPhone sound more clear?

Have you not got a backup of your content on, for example, external drives or CDs/DVDs ? If not then you could see if any of the utilities mentioned in this old post still work : https://discussions.apple.com/message/11014893?messageID=11014893#11014893 .
In terms of photos, then for those taken with the iPhone or saved from emails/websites then see this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083
For photos that were originally synced from a computer you will need a third-party app such as Simple Transfer (which has a free lite version called Simple Photo & Video Transfer) which can copy them off via your wifi network. But as photos are 'optimised' when they are synced to a device, any that you then copy back to a computer may not be exactly the same as they originally were on your computer.

  • I have a new mac and want to sync my phone to the iTunes on it, but it won't let me manually manage without deleting all music on the phone already from another iTunes. is there a way around this?

I have a new mac and want to sync my phone to the iTunes on it, but it won't let me manually manage without deleting all music on the phone already from another iTunes. is there a way around this?

    The best solution:
iTunes: How to move [or copy] your music to a new computer [or another drive] - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527
Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option (shift on Windows) key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.
An alternative which is really not what you should have to do, or the way it is intended to be done, if you properly manage your computer and backups:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer (except purchased content as mentioned above).  For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will probably have to use third party commercial software unless you have an older model iPod. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

Do not regard your i-device as a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up.

  • I want to buy the song "I want to hold your hand" by Al Green but it is not on itunes, is there any way i could recommend this song to be carried by itunes?

I want to buy the song "I want to hold your hand" by Al Green but it is not on itunes, is there any way of getting it on itunes or being able to reccomend that this song be carried by itunes?

You can submit suggestions for the iTunes Store through the feedback page. Whether or not your suggestion will ever be acted upon will depend on a number of factors, some out of Apple's control (to start with, the artists and record companies have to be willing to license the tracks to Apple), so don't expect instant action.
    Regards.

  • Is there a way to make movies playlists in itunes 10?

I would like to be able to make a playlist consisting of movies without having to change info to make them into music videos. If there were a sperarte music video category in the itunes library section, that sure would be neat. But instead there is a music video playlist where the music videos will be, but they also show up in the Music library which I do not like or want. So is there a way to make a movies playlist w/o them ending up clogging the Music section of my itunes library?

You can make a playlist that contains any combination of audio and video from the Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books (Audiobooks) and Podcasts sources. If you really object to the music videos appearing in Music, either make them Movies, or perhaps better yet, TV Shows and give them a common Show name to group them together.

  • When you connect ipod nano to itunes is there a way to stop it deleteing the albums on it if they are not on my laptop anymore

when you connect ipod nano to itunes is there a way to stop it deleteing the albums on it if they are not on my laptop anymore

Yes, do not set it to automatic sync, and if these albums are purchases in iTunes, then you need to transfer them to your iTunes library. If you attempt to sync the device the music sync is one way, only from the library to the device. If this is music you did not purchase, but is on the iPod, you will need to get some 3rd party software to extract it from the iPod to put in the library. Touchcopy from Wide Angle Software is one choice. I have used it before and it does a lot more than music, and it works on both the Windows and Mac platforms.

  • Within iTunes is there a way to autiomatically delete duplicate songs

Within iTunes is there a way to automatically detect and delete duplicate songs - i.e. I know how to find and identify the duplicates but do not want to have to remove them one by one?

No... for the simple fact that iTunes has no way of knowing which is the correct one to keep.  In many cases, duplicate songs are not simply duplicate entries in the library database but are in fact multiple copies of the same song.

  • I don't want to do the recovery thing to my iPhone4, but my iPhone is at the stage in the update where it says to plug it into iTunes, is there some way to get out of this or save all of my data somehow?

i don't want to do the recovery thing to my iPhone4, but my iPhone is at the stage in the update where it says to plug it into iTunes, is there some way to get out of this or save all of my data somehow?

What do you mean the "update" says plug it into iTunes? If you have the iTunes logo/USB cord on the screen, it's in recovery mode or needs to be activated. Anything that was on the phone is already gone. You have no choice but to plug it into the computer. Hopefully, you backed it up before you started the update.
If that's not what you mean, then please explain.
Apple may or may not be able to fix the lock button for you without replacing the phone entirely. You'll have to take it in and ask.

  • HT1212 i have a iphone 4 and i have forgtten my passcode but i do not have acess too itunes is there a way i can do a hard rest manually !

i have a iphone 4 and i have forgtten my passcode but i do not have acess too itunes is there a way i can do a hard rest manually ??

The only thing you can do when you have forgotten the passcode is to restore the device as a new phone. A restore requires a computer and iTunes. If you have the computer you normally sync with, you could restore from a backup and not lose any content, however if you don't have that computer, you will lose all content with a restore. If you don't have that computer, you can restore with any computer that has iTunes.

  • Is there any way to make my iPod THE iTunes Library?

Is there any way to make my iPod THE iTunes Library? I would like to free up all the space my iTunes Library takes up on my MacBook Pro, so I was considering purchasing an portable external hard drive to hold my iTunes Library…then it dawned on me… why shouldn’t I just be able to use my iPod for this? But not as simply a hard drive, but be able to access my songs on the iPod the same as I do now?

You can delete all the songs from your computer and just keep them on the iPod by changing the update option of your iPod to "manually manage music and videos". In manual mode you can connect and play the songs from your iPod through iTunes on your computer. You can get details here: Managing content manually on iPod
One major word of caution. If you delete songs from your computer and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem (and that's a very strong possibility). You should reconsider your original idea of investing in an external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up songs you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD. Forum member Buegie has compiled a very extensive procedure for backing up your music which you'll find at this link: Backing up iTunes
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod
