If I buy a new iPad now, which version can I get iOS 6 not iOS 7? iPad mini version 1?

If I buy iPad mini version 1 now, can I get iOS 6 not iOS 7? I really don't like iOS 7. Or can I get iPad mini versin 2 with iOS 6 as a special request for my order? Thanks.

I agree with Texas Mac Man. Many stores that have stock of non-retina mini might still have ios 6. Apple id only selling non-retina ipad minis in the 16 gb version. I just checked Best Buy and they are selling the 32 and 64 gb versions, so should have ios 6. They're pick up at store only, so they're clearing out old stock. Check with authorized Apple resellers and see if they have any. Act fast, though.

  • I have an iPod that was set up and synced on another computer, I have a new mac now and I can't get the songs off the old iPod

well the short of it is I set up my pod on the wifes computer
Ive got over 4500 songs on it and want to transfer them to a new mac I just got
its not allowing me to do so, what can I do????
I dont haveaccess to the other computer anymore

You did not restore the new iPhone.
The first time a new iPhone is connected to iTunes on a computer that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device or that was used to backup another iPhone or iOS devide, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device, or set up the new iPhone as a new iPhone.
Since the old iPhone was synced with iTunes on a different computer, all iTunes content on the new iPhone (which is none at the present time) will be erased first.
The warning message should indicate all iTunes content will be erased from the iPhone, which is iTunes content only.
If you are syncing contacts with a supported address book app on this computer and the supported address book app on this computer includes any contacts, you will be provided a merge prompt for the contacts, which you want to select. Otherwise the contacts on the iPhone will be replaced with the contacts in the address book app on the computer with the first sync.

  • Want to buy new ipad mini.  What is best carrier for overseas travel?  Are all carriers month to month?

Want to buy a new ipad mini.  What is best carrier for overseas travel?  Are all plans month to month?

No. Most plans from major carriers are minimum term contracts - usually two years. Month to month providers require you buy an unlocked device that may then be permanently tied to their service.

  • HT2311 I just bought a new iPad Mini, and it won't sync to my iTunes.

So I went to the Apple store today to buy a new iPad Mini. I got it home, and tried to plug it into my computer to sync all of my information from my compter/old iPad. Come to find out, I need a newer version of iTunes to sync with the new iPad. Ok, so I go to update my version, and it says my "version is up to date". It's version 10.6.3!! So I try to download the latest version from the Apple website, and version 11.0.2 won't install onto my computer because I need version 10.6.8 or newer in order to install it!? ***?? Help me out!!

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, which requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM, and to install the 10.6.8 combo updater.

  • New Ipad mini installing app issues

    Please help.
I have purchased a new iPad mini today. I have spent the last few hours getting annoyed as to why I can't install any apps on it. This ipad is for my wife. I already have an iPad 2 and have never had issue with it. Everything else seems fine, network connection is good, we did manage to download iBooks and after that every app I tried to install  (YouTube, Facebook, Twitter etc) the little circle would come up for a few seconds and then go back to the 'free' button. I have reset the ipad and I have double checked account settings. There are no restrictions on. I have downloaded iOS 7 (did that before we even started downloading anything). Just can't figure it out. Can anyone help??

Ok ... I sorted it out.
I think it was because the machine had ios6 on and updated to iOS 7 as soon as it was turned on literally after set up. I just did a hard reset (deleted all data etc) and set it up again with iOS 7 from start up. Works fine now.
I suppose others might get this problem if they buy a new ipad mini with iOS 6 on it. Just do what I did (eventually, not the whole 2 hour head scratching and teeth grinding) and it should work. Reset the machine by erasing all data.
    Cheers

  • I am buying a new iPad. Now I have version 1 with a AT

I want to buy a new iPad. Now I have version 1 with AT&T cellular data. If I want to keep this data plan which iPad shoud I buy?

Simple solution is buy the WiFi+AT&T cellular version, though iPads are not locked like iPhones it is best to get the matching one right out of the box.  then just decide how much storage capacity you want with it.

  • I am thinking of buying a "new" iPad but I have a very large iPhoto library which I would like to keep intact and be able to view on my new iPad.  Is there a way to use a external storage device to store the iPhoto library and view it on the iPad?

You can't use an external hard drive like you would with a computer.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)
When you first connect the USB flash drive, you will only see thumbnails of the pics on the iPad; you have to import the pic file to see the full size. With your large library of pics, you will have to do this repeateably and then delete pics so you don't exceed your memory capacity.

  • I want to buy an New iPad(4th generation) WIFI CELLULAR, but i'm not live in U.S. I live in Colombia and want it with cellular somehow to buy the iPad with cellular that comes unlocked for my GSM local carries?

I want to buy an New iPad(4th generation) WIFI CELLULAR, but i not live in U.S. I live in Colombia and want it with cellular. somehow to buy the iPad with cellular that comes unlocked for my GSM local carries?

They may be purchased unlocked at full price. But whether you can use them in Brazil depends on whether you have GSM service there.
Note that if you buy in the US then any warranty work will require you to bring the device to the US for service. The US warranty is only good in the US, not in Brazil. You would be better off buying it in Brazil which will also save you duty and import taxes plus US sales tax.

  • Im looking to buy the new ipad but Iv a question. I can only afford either the 16gb with cellular or the 32gb without cellular...if one HAD to pick between the two what would u pick

I'm looking to buy the new ipad but I've a question. I can only afford either the 16gb with cellular or the 32gb without cellular. If one HAD to pick between bigger storage space or the added cellular which would u pick? Please help!

Like I said, I only have WiFi iPads, and don't know much at all about the data plans, but I don't think that you have to commit to a long term contract and I believe that there are plans that you can cancel at any time. My point is that if you sign up for a plan, and you use it say 4 months out of the year, you could be spending that money that you saved on the original cost of the iPad and even more in the future.
Actually, you can look at the AT&T plans here.

Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will not remove any third-party apps, just the settings. If you wish to restore to "as new," then:
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
You will be prompted to Restore as New or Restore from a Backup. Choose the first option.
