Not a very smart idea, however, because it's not guaranteed to support the LTE bands in Europe, and if there's a problem with the phone, you will have to either bring the phone back to the US yourself, or send it to someone you know in the US to bring it in to Apple for evaluation. The iPhone warranty is NOT international.
You cannot refund or exchange a US iPhone in a French Apple Store.
