Like any other world phone, it will work on any carrier with a supported network.  The iPhone must be unlocked, if it is carrier locked, there will be problems.

Yes, I bought an IPOD for my friend in Sweden it has worked fine there....the only thing that I WOULD NOT buy would be a USB power adapter, (if you plan to get one) you would want to get one of those with the proper power connections for your country.

  • If I buy an iPhone 5s in America will it work in Ireland , and will it work with the irish 4g

Hi I am going to America next week and want to buy an iPhone and I am wondering if an iPhone 5s bought in America will work with the irish 4g network when I come home? Please help

In general LTE will only work in the world region the device was designed for. And for it to work correctly all of the bands for your region must be supported by the device.
So assume that a North American iPhone will not work on LTE in Ireland, and decide if it is worth the difference in cost. Remembering that the prices you see advertised in the US are subsidized prices, and an unlocked phone costs much more than that. For example, a 5S 16 GB is $649, a 32 GB is $749, and a 64 GB is $849. To this you must add sales tax, typically 8% to 10% depending on where you buy in (NYC is 8.75%).
Then once you get it back to Ireland you must pay import duty and VAT, unless you smuggle it in. If you get caught smuggling it there will be a penalty on top of the duty and VAT, and they may even seize the phone. I have no idea what the chance of getting caught is, but if I were a customs inspector I would watch for things like that.
And finally, once you have it safely in Ireland if it ever needs service you will have to bring it back to the US.

Read the forums for all the differing opinions probably not yet available as unlocked
and Contract Free is NOT unlocked
It will not work on LTE/4G and there will be no warranty outside the US ,it is NOT international

  • If i buy an unlocked iphone 4s in the usa will it work in Australia? and will the warranty be valid in astralia as i have been told that apple have a world wide after sales service but also been told warranties are only valid in the country of purchase

If i buy an unlocked iphone 4s in the usa will it work in Australia? and will the warranty be valid in astralia as i have been told that apple have a world wide after sales service but also been told warranties are only valid in the country of purchase? Cheers

Each country is a separate business. If Apple in Australia fixes a phone purchased in another country it reduces their profit. The good news is that Apple stores will frequently replace phones purchased in other countries under warranty, but they are not required to do so. Some countries are more liberal than others. India never does, for example.
Why don't you just buy it in Australia? The price difference can't be that great.

    No, they won't.

  • If i will buy iphone 6 without preference to operator in USA, will it work in Russia?

if i will buy iphone 6 without preference to operator in USA, will it work in Russia?

There currently are no unlocked versions of the iPhone 6 being sold in the US.
Unlocked versions are available in other nations.
Remember that the warranty on an iPhone purchased in the US is valid only in
the US and 4G/LTE probably will not work in your location.
Wait until the iPhone 6 becomes available where you are to avoid these and other
    problems.

  • I should know, but I don't. If I upload all of my photos to iCloud and then delete them off of my iPhone (for more storage space), will they all remain in iCloud or am I missing the point of iCloud?

Right now, there is no way to upload and access photos in iCloud. You need to import them to a computer if you want to be able to retrieve them later:

  • Hi , I am planning to buy i phone 6 from japan , will it work in UK.

Hi , I am planning to buy i phone 6 from japan , will it work in UK.

    hello gautam
yes. it will work in the UK.
be sure to buy the iPhone 6 or 6 Plus, and buy it an apple store in Japan (do NOT buy it at a network service provider), and when you buy it be sure to tell the salesperson that you want the SIM free version.
if do the above, then the phone will work in the UK.
here are the frequency/band specs (taken from the apple Japan website). as you can see, all major LTE bands are available on this phone.
    UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA(850、900、1,700/2,100、1,900、2,100MHz)
    GSM/EDGE(850、900、1,800、1,900MHz)
    LTE(バンド1、2、3、4、5、7、8、13、17、18、19、20、25、26、28、29)

If I buy a iPad 2 in USA, will it work in the UK? If so, does this apply to both the wi-fi

It will work in the UK, though you will need a plug adapter for the charger (you don't need a convertor for the charger).
If you get a 3G version then get the AT&T version as they use micro-sim cards, so you can swap in a UK micro-sim card. The Verizon iPad is CDMA based and doesn't use micro-sim cards, so from a built-in 3G point of view isn't much use in the UK (I'm not aware of any CDMA carriers in Europe).

if I buy a macbook pro in USA will it work in UK with a standard UK charger ?

Depends on what you mean by "standard UK charger".
A current MBP's power supply is known as a MagSafe Power Adapter.
If you mean, will a US-bought MBP work with a UK-bought MagSafe adapter?, then the answer is, yes, of course.
If you mean, will a MagSafe adapter of a US-bought MBP work with the UK mains socket and voltage?, the answer is no for the former and yes for the latter. IOW, there's no problem with the voltage, but the pins won't match, so you'll need an adapter for that, or you'll need a UK MagSafe adapter AC power cord. You should be able to find the adapter in most large hardware stores.
