If I change from Int Explorer will my favourites/bookmarks be saved automatically in Firefox?

My Internet Explorer continually crashes/freezes & I want to change to Firefox.
Will my favourites/bookmarks be saved automatically?

Firefox uses its own bookmarks that are kept separately from the IE Favorites in an SQLite database file called places.sqlite.
Firefox will offer to import the IE Favorites on the first start, so those will be available, but you may need to move them to the bookmarks toolbar for easier access.

To make the change from MobilMe I will have to update fro System 10.4.11 to 10.7.2.  How many firmware and system updates will I have to make

First, see if your system can run Lion:
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html
If you have any PPC apps, none of them will work under Lion.
If you meet the requirements for Lion, you can go to Snow Leopard(US $29), then update to 10.6.8, then update to Lion(US $29).
Apple says 2GB's of memory minimum. I wouldn't update to Lion unless you can run at least 4GB's.

  • Docs&settings only shows bookmarks from Int Explorer used previously, not Moxilla. How can I save the bookmarks which are shown correctly when using MF?

I want to save my bookmarks as I have done periodically since 2000 using Xp.
For copying to F drive or USB, procedure is open C drive, Documents and settings, my name, Favorites
I have hundreds of sorted bookmarks which I update fairly often.
Changed to MF about five years ago.
It looks like nothing has been added to the Favorites within Documents and Settings since then - all have the blue Int. Explorer logo, none in Moxilla colours.
I was unaware of this as all bookmarks are shown correctly to left of desktop.

    There are three basic options
#You can backup the bookmarks in a form that Firefox can use. And these include any tags with them.<br />See [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
#Firefox stores History in the same database: '''places.sqlite'' the whole of that or even the whole of the profile may be backed up if necessary. <br /> See [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
#You may back them up by '''export / import''' as HTML. These are the same sort of files as is used for IE favourites / favorites. (These will append or tack on to existing bookmark collections) <br />See [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]]
CARE if you restore bookmarks from a backup it overwrites your existing bookmarks so always back them up manually before doing any restore.
Firefox creates its own library of bookmarks. It is possible to add HTML files from IE to these. You will not be able to make sense of Firefox's .json or .sqlite files other than by allowing them to be used within Firefox. The HTML files may probably be opened directly by Firefox or some other programs such as Word Processors.

  • Fact table data type changed from int to nvarchar -- rebuild on cube fails

I change one of my data types in the Fact table from INT to Nvarchar... When I look at the properties it appears
correct but when I try to Process it fails still thinking it's data type INT.
How can the DSV be refreshed( I did try REFRESH  and it noticied the change to field) to reflect new nvarchar data type without
    having to rebuild entire Cube.
    SSAS 2005
     Thanks.

Did you try to view the code on the Data Source view and cube that it is reflecting the correct data type on both places? if not you can change there and save it.

  • I'm wondering were my favourites list went when I downloaded firefox ? Everything dissapeared when I changed from internet explorer

I had a list of sites that I regularly use for banking Gov't. agencies etc. etc. it was labeled my favourites whic I could add or delete at any time when I whent to my browser which happens to be google it apeared on the very left hand side of the screen. Since I have downloaded Firefox I cannot seem to find this list. Can anyone tell me where to look please?

You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks).
If you can't find them in the "From Internet Explorer" folder then try this:
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

If you can login on Adobe.com then clearly you are logged in  on Adobe platform.  If you want to login to use these forums then click this link and login in the usual way using Firefox browser:
    <https://forums.adobe.com/welcome>
The sign in button is on the top right corner next to the search button.
Is this what you are asking?  If not please clarify again.

  • Explorer will not open and I want to download Firefox, but have no browser. What can I do?

Internet Explorer will not open on my husband's laptop. There is internet service, but no browser. I want to download Firefox but have no browser to open. Is there a way to download it on a thumb drive and then upload it to the laptop?

Download the Firefox installer on another computer and copy the file to an USB memory stick.

  • I have had Mozilla Firefox for years...now it won't load, but Int.Explorer will. What is wrong?

When I click on the icon or the program it self, or right-click and press OPEN, I get an hourglass, then nothing. It will NOT open. I CAN open Internet Explorer, then open Mozilla Firefox, but what's the point in going through all of that.
This has happened 3 or 4 times before and after a few days begins to work again.
Once I was trying out Google's Chrome, and it quit, but after I uninstalled Chrome, Mozilla started again. Is it that fragile? I really don't know of anything that might have stopped it this time. I am about ready to just give up and uninstall it and go back to Internet Explorer...even though I don't really like it...at least it works every time!
Thanks for any help you may have.

This is most likely because of a recent Flash update (11.3) which has been causing some problems in Firefox recently.
You can try reading the following articles to see if there is a good resolution for your problem:

iCloud has no idea, nor does it care, which provider you're using.

  • How do I pull bookmarks from unternet explorer?

I had a new HD installed and all my book marks on firefox are lost..I still have them on internet explorer..how do I pull over

To get the File menu display try
    # on the keyboard press Alt+ V, then <s>while holding the Alt</s> press T
    # you should then be able to select to display the Toolbar Menubar (key M)
    # you may also need to customize the toolbars and restore defaults
    * you could also try keyboard key F11 which will toggle you out of full screen view
To Import your bookmarks (favourites) see

*''edit'' LINK [[Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer]]
The machine I am using today only has Firefox 3 installed, but from what I remember firefox 4 menu is very similar, but offers show all bookmarks instead of organise bookmarks. In both versions the bookmarks options are on the bookmarks drop down menu.
(Bookmarks library includes the import & export functions, in both firefox 3 and 4)

  • After changing from IE to Firerfox mozilla, the fonts on email are too small and I can't change them

After changing from Internet Explorer to Firefox Mozilla, I noticed the font size, like this one, was the standard font in everything. I want a larger font in '''everything''' I read and type, including emails.

My two suggestions would be find an epub editor, (never seen one sure one exists)
or use Zoom on your device. It's not the best solution, but it shold at least make it readable.
You can enable Zoom under Settings.

  • I want to import bookmarks from internet explorer, but the import link is ghosted out and won't give me access. How do I access the import function?

I want to import bookmarks from Internet Explorer 8, but the import link under file in Firefox is ghosted out and doesn't allow me access. How can I access the Firefox import function?

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
