If I change my apple ID can i still access my music, apps

If I change my Apple ID do I still have access to my music. apps & video purchases?

- Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
- To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
Also note the 90 limit for redownload purchases.

  • If I change my Apple ID, can I get my iTune and App purchases transferred from the old to the new ID?

I have a child who is now of age to create an Apple ID.  If I create a new Apple ID, can I tranfer the iTune and App Store purchases from my existing Apple ID to the new one for my child?

No, it's not currently possible to transfer content from one account to another account - all items remain tied to the account that originally bought/downloaded them, so they will remain tied to your account.
As long as your account is authorised on the computer's iTunes that he/she syncs to, and those items are in its library, then he/she should be able to continue to have them on their device (though only your account will be able to download updates to those apps)

  • Just set up icloud with new apple id, can I still access old photostream?

I recently set up a new apple id using my gmail, had been using my aol email previously. After signing into icloud with the new apple id, obviously my photostream that existed under my old apple id is now gone. Is there a way I can still access the photostream from my old apple id or are those pics now lost?

Photo stream photos older than 30 days are gone unless they have already been downloaded to another device or computer.  However, if they were still in your camera roll when you last backed up, restoring the backup to your phone should recover them.

  • If I get my child his own Apple ID, can he still listen to music he purchased off our family's Apple ID?

My son has been purchasing a ton of in-app content without my authorization.  I am looking for suggestions on how to stop this.
Right now, we have a family ID, that me, my husband, and my three kids use.  I am considering getting a new apple ID for my oldest son, Mark, so that I don't have to worry about him using the family account to make in-app purchases.  The only reservation I have is that Mark has purchased quite a bit of music (with his own money) on our family ID, so I want to make sure he'll still be able to listen to it if he is cut off from the family ID.
Mark has his own iPhone--that is where he's been making the purchases, so I'm not sure we can turn off the in-app purchases, since he'd know the password to the phone, right?
Any suggestions would be helpful--we are just trying to avoid another $350 surprise on our next credit card bill!

    Yes.

  • If I change my user id can I still access stuff (apps movies and music) etc purchased from my previous id

When we bought our iPads  my partner set us both up with the same apple id and password.
We would now like to de-link the two iPads and have separate itunes accounts. How do we do I set up a new username and still have access to previously bought apps movies and music?

No ... just by itself, you cannot share these items. However by using a new feature, just offered, you can do Family Sharing.

You're saying this is happening on a Mac??  Find My iPhone is a feature of iOS devices, not Macs.  If you are trying to change the iCloud ID on an iOS device, you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

You won't be able to update your purchases. You will have to re purhcase apps, music, etc. using the new Apple iD.
FYI ...    Media cannot be transferred from one account to another and Apple ID accounts cannot be merged.

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • ITunes will not let me change my payment method.CAn I still use iTunes cards

iTunes will not let me change my payment method .can I  still   Use iTunes cards

What happens when you try to change it, and if you are getting an error message then what does it say ?
On you iPad you should be able to change it by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store and tapping on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and logging into your account  - that should give you a payments link on your account's page. Changing payment info : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1918
If you are trying to remove credit card details and you aren't getting the 'none' option then do you owe iTunes anything or have any pre-orders/subscriptions due : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5366 ?

    Greetings elalewis,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If you would like to change the email address that you use as your Apple ID, you can do so without losing purchased content. Note that email addresses ending with @icloud.com, @me.com, or @mac.com are already Apple IDs, and cannot be changed.
See this article for the complete steps to change the email address used as your Apple ID:

  • My wife and my iphones are both on the same apple id.  If I create a new apple id for her, can we still share our music?

My wife and my iphones are both on the same apple id.  If I create a new apple id for her, can we still share our music?

Yes.  If you are using two different instances of iTunes on your computers, make sure the music is on both copies of iTunes.
The person with the new Apple ID will not "own" the music, as it is owned by the one with the former ID.  But the way to deal with this is for the new ID person to do Store > Authorize This Computer from iTunes' menu, then have the person with the ID that purchased the music enter his/her Apple ID and password.

  • Following a software update, I can no longer access/authorise music purchased via iTunes from my old Apple ID, which I have not used for 8  years, and no longer have password.  Any ideas how I can re-access/recover that music?

  • Can I still save all my apps, etc in my iphone if I am changing my computer thus downloading and installing new itunes?

Can I still save all my apps, etc in my iphone if I am changing my computer thus downloading and installing new itunes?

While this might not be the best method, I have found it best served what I needed when transferring my iphone 4 contacts to my new iphone 5s:
    http://goo.gl/AYrQNN
First, I don't have a Gmail account, and even if I had, I would not wish to mix my email addresses with my iphone address book by syncing Gmail with my iphone address book. As a result, I used the above method in order to manually export my iphone contacts to my computer and in turn import them to my new iphone.
