If I clear all history, will it be alright?

My iPad is very slow ,if I delete all history will it give me more space?

Clearing Safari's cache (assuming that is what you mean) would only marginally create more storage space on the device. Those files simply are not that large compared to some other content (but it also wouldn't hurt anything).
To check available storage on the device, ope the Settings App > General > Usage. If you are running much less that 10% of total storage as free, you may want to consider deleting some content (photos, videos, music, for example, as well as unused apps).
If you appear to have sufficient free space, you might want to consider trying a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • Firefox will not display anything from Yahoo! correctly anymore. I get a skeleton text structure whenever I attempt to load any yahoo-based pages. However, they load in Opera fine. I've cleared all history from FF, with no results.

    Update March 7, 2011:
I've managed to get it to work via fiddling with Adblock's settings and what I had it set to block for me.
It will load any other page I go to fine, but Yahoo! is a no-go. I've tried clearing all history, closing FF and then restarting it, but that didn't work. I attempted to open Yahoo! in my backup Opera browser, and it worked fine. This is a little annoying.

Bring it to an Apple store or AASP.

It's not clear what you want to remove.
If you intend Recent Items under the Apple menu, you can safely remove what's in there by choosing Clear Menu
You can do the same with Recent Folders in Go menu
That's only a history of the items and folders you used. You don't delete anything.

  • Can I Clear all history from command line?

Is there a way to simulate clearing all history
Tools -> Clear Recent History -> Everything
from the command line in Windows 7?

  • Firefox doesn't delete my cookies when I clear all history.

When I go to options and clear all history (everything, all boxes checked), firefox does not delete my cookies because I am still logged into accounts. Not too sure about deleting all my history and cache either.
Is there a setting I am missing that bypasses certain accounts from getting deleted?

Is this about "Clear history when Firefox closes" to clear the cookies when you close Firefox?
If you leave tabs open when you exit Firefox then Firefox stores the cookies in sessionstore.js as part of the session data.
You can set the <b>browser.sessionstore.privacy_level</b> pref to 2 (never) or 1 (non-HTTPS) on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable saving cookies via session restore.
You can open the <b>about:config</b> page via the location bar

  • Since last update, Wells Fargo website opens in a sidebar, it it does open in Safari. Only way to make it work is to close all tabs and then open Wells Fargo from a bookmark. Have cleared all history, cache, cookies. Mac OS X 10.7.3 and Firefox 10.0.

Have cleared all history, cache, and cookies. Have a Mac running Lion OS X 10.7.3 and Firefox 10.0. This website works fine on a PC and Mac with Safari.

Opening in the side bar is the default for bookmarks that are created via a link or button on a website.<br />
You can check the Properties of a bookmark via the right-click context menu in the side bar (Ctrl+B; Cmd+B on Mac).<br />
In the Bookmarks Manager (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks) you can click the More button in the Details pane at the bottom right.<br />
Make sure that "Load this bookmark in the side bar" is not selected.

If it is stored as form data then you need to remove that data.

  • Cookies repopulate after use Safari Preferences Privacy. Safari Clear All History works, but also logs me out of site to which I'd like to remain logged in. I use a MacBook Air, running Yosemite 10.10.1.

Cookies repopulate after I use Safari<Preferences<Privacy to try to remove some, but not all cookies. They don't seem to repopulate after I use Safari<Clear All History, but then I am logged out of sites to which I'd like to remain logged in. I use a MacBook Air, running Yosemite 10.10.1.

    Hi,
I have an update so I thought I would share in case any other users are experiencing a similar problem.
I made an appointment with the Genius Bar at the Apple Store.
I went in and they ran a thorough diagnostic check on my Macbook Air and determined that the sensors were indeed faulty - several were providing no information "No reading" instead of providing a temperature. Thus, the Air was unaware of the temperature across multiple components.
Despite the laptop being outside the 12 Month Manufacturer Warranty, the Apple Store determined that it was covered under warranty through Australian Consumer Law - the laptop is now in for a complete repair under warranty at no cost to myself.
    I couldn't be happier.

  • What can i do to restore performance of "Clear All History"; it runs slowly in v4.0

The comparative run times of Clear All History function between v4.0 and (I think) v3.61 is significantly degraded. It can run over a minute now, with minimal history cache.

  • Whne I clear all history it does not clear the address bar, I still can click on the right side and see all of my past web sites

I am using the newest version, and have done a clear recent history with all boxes checked

Entries in the location bar drop down list with a yellow (blue on Mac) star at the right end are bookmarks.<br />
You can remove such a bookmarked item that shows in the list if you open that url in a tab and click the yellow star in the location bar.<br />
This will open the "Edit This Bookmark" dialog and you can click the Remove button to remove the bookmark if you want to remove such a bookmarked entry.<br />

  • Why does why does Flash container services load into memory whenever I manually clear all history? It's always set to 'ask before activate'.

I am running Windows 7 SP-1 Ultimate and I always keep tabs on my processes with Task Manager. It gets very old always have to stop that process tree after manually clearing Firefox history from within the browser. Is this a glitch or intended? Thank you for any answer.

I am not certain but I believe it is likely to be due to the fact that FlashPlayer use will result in Localy Stored Objects and possibly other cached items and so the service will need to open in order to clear them.
I know a couple of years ago there was a glitch* in the process and plugin container opened unnecessarily multiple times and stayed open for the session

As an aside you can choose not to save History or to use Private Browsing on those occasions when it is important not to save the History. There should be no need to clear History manually to improve Firefox performance.

  • Can't open my attached files on my yahoo email account unless clearing all history on Firefox - this is maddening!! Help!

Everytime I want to open an attached file on my yahoo email, I now have to clear all the history including: Browsing and download history, Form and search history, cookies, and cache before I can open attachments on my yahoo mail and then I have to re-enter all my passwords, etc.
This was previously not a problem opening any attached files like PDF files or document files.
    Please help!

    Hello,
'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
''When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.''
    Thank you.

  • Whenever I click on Home every previously closed tab reappears. I've cleared all history to no avail. What gives?

For the last week or so, every time I click on the Home icon for my homepage previously closed tabs from previously closed sessions all reappear. I have cleared the history and closed Firefox over and over without those tabs but they keep reappearing whenever I click the Home icon. How do I get this to stop?

  • Why does Clear All History take so long?

I like to clear my browse history frequently (daily). With recent releases, this takes a very long time. I frequently get an "Unresponsive script" warning. The message is:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responnding. You can stop the script
now. or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
    Script: chrome://browser/content/sanitize.js:133

Are you only clearing the history or are you clearing more items (cookies, cache)?<br />
If you clear more items then try to select only one of them to see if you can isolate the cause.
You can check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox Profile Folder.
