i have a screen with the apple logo on it and a bar underneath it. it has been this way for about an hour now. what does this mean and is there a way to reset the iphone without going into the store? it isnt showing in my computer or on the itunes page.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

Normally the screen of the IPhone turns with you when you turn the phone on it's side. Mine has stopped doing that. My phone works fine, the screen just wont turn. How do I fix that????
Check to see if the orientation lock is on. Do you see what looks like a small lock with a circular arrow around it near the battery icon in the status bar? Swipe upwards from the bottom of the phone to bring up Control Center. The orientation lock is the last icon on the top row right. It is a toggle, white is on, black is off.

Apple does not repair, they replace with factory refurbished units. You will need to pay the out of warranty fee as accidental damage is not covered. Unless you have AppleCare+ in which case you can use one of your two accidental damage claims. The replacement is given to you right away at the store.

Double tap home button quickly in new row of icons at bottom, tap and hold your Message Icon until the Red Minus Sign appears, tap it to delete from background memory. Then slide all the icons to the right, all the way, see if the Lock Icon is present, if locked, unlock it. See if Message is better, if not, Reset iPhone, hold both home and Power buttons until the iPhone restarts itself, ignore the "slide to power off" let the iPhone restart itself, usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.
