If I cracked my iphone 4 will apple give me a new one for $200

I dropped my iPhone 4, with a bumper on it, and the front cracked to ****. The phone still works perfectly and everything. I know warranties dont cover those kind of damages and neither does apple care which I have. I have heard I can get a new or refubished one for 200 dollars if I take it to an apple store. This blows but I will pay the 200 if this is true.

If whatever is wrong with your phone falls under the hardware warranty, Apple will replace your phone, with a refurbished unit, at no cost to you. Make an appointment at an Apple store.

  • When will Apple give the Battery Percentage option for the iPod?

When will Apple give the Battery Percentage option for the iPod?

It's hard to tell since Apple has never included it in all generations of the iPod and I assume you mean the iPod Touch.
Apple could place it in the sixth generation iPod Touch but Apple has been pretty tight lipped on the possiblity of one coming. It's been since 2012 when the fifth generation arrived in the fall so the iPod lineup is due for an upgrade. Some reports say it won't come this year and others say different. But with the new iPhone expected to debut with larger screen it is still possible the new iPod will come with a larger screen alongside the new iPhone. It happened back in 2012.
But no one really knows. Until then download an app to measure your battery percentage. I have battery doctor and it's really useful to determine how much battery my iPod has left and it also can clean up your memory and any junk files.

No, you don't get a new iPhone simply because you cannot afford to replace it.
What do you mean it's "broken"?  Is it physically broken?  If so, warranty does not cover user damage.

  • I have an Ipad and it doesnt work. If I bring it to apple and pay will apple give me a new Ipad right there or will I have to wait for one to be shipped

Will apple give me a new ipad in store if i pay to get the broken ipad fixed?

  • My iPod had a problem, so apple give me a new one and i can´t use the backup of my iPod that had a problem, what can i do ?

I had a problem with my iPod, so because of that apple gave me a new one. So i want to get all my infomation back using the bachup of icloud, but when i put in the iPod use a backup of icloud it said that there is no backup and in iTunes didn´t apear. What can i do ?

That's the problem.  You can't restore a device to a backup made on a device that was running a higher iOS version than the device being restored.   You'll first have to update the replacement to iOS 6, then go to Settings>General>Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings, go back through the setup screens again and when given the option select Restore From iCloud Backup.  Your backup should now be available to restore to.

  • My speaker went out on iphone 5 so apple sends me a new one, it says if there is water damage to my old one they will charge me retail price. I don't know if there is but if they do find damage can I just get my old one back and send them theirs back?

If anyone could help me with this. I don't have that kind of money, but the thought of maybe my phone has damage I am unaware of and them charging me over 500 dollars is ridiculous

Do you not understand Out of warranty covers an iPhone that is not covered by warranty because the user has abused it in some way including water damage or is just out of warranty time wise
You get a factory refurbished unit in exchange and in US thne priceyou pay is $269 for an iPhone 5 any size

  • 3rd Logic Board replacement: will Apple give me a new computer?

    Hello Ronda and Friends,
I am a professional guidebook and magazine writer, currently traveling around the world with an iBook which loves to crash its logic board right before book deadlines, usually very far from Mac centers. The first time was in Belize (had to ship it back to US at great expense), the second time in Pakistan (got logic board replaced 6 weeks later in Delhi, this was only 5 months ago), and the third, the day before yesterday, here in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which thankfully has a Mac repair center.
I've got 3 months left on Applecare and plan on replacing the logic board again, though I have 6 months left on this current trip, which will soon take me very far from Mac repair shops (i.e. Africa). I am constantly working on deadlines, and if this third board craps out in Kenya, I'll be pretty screwed.
After reading a few archived logic board sob stories here, some seemed to suggest that there are cases where Apple would grant a new model iBook, if that person's livelihood depended on it which mine certainly does.
Please advise as soon as possible so I know whether to go ahead with the logic board replacement here. Or let me know who I should contact in customer relations.
Thank you -- and if you are interested in my travels, go to

Dual USB iBook   Mac OS X (10.3.3)   3rd logic board crash

Hi, Joshua. Welcome to Apple Discussions. Again isn't it, as I seem to remember your logic board failure in Pakistan, yes?
It seems to be the usual thing that Apple wants three attempts at repair (which means four logic board failures) before considering a replacement. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Especially since your livelihood depends on a working iBook, I'd advise you to ask for a replacement.
Apple Phone Contacts includes a number for Thailand:
    http://www.apple.com/contact/phone_contacts.html
But do not mess around with Customer Service. Ask for Customer Relations. Tell them that your iBook has a habit of losing its logic board at the most inopportune times and in the most inopportune places. Be prepared to give them dates and details of repairs, and stress how vital your iBook is to your livelihood and that lost computer time is lost income. Tell them you need a computer you can count on, and your iBook, much as you love it, just isn't getting the job done for you. Then ask for a replacement.
If Thailand won't do it for you, I think you should invest a call to the U.S. Again, don't settle for Customer Support; immediately ask for Customer Relations and give them the same sad story and ask for a replacement. It won't hurt to emphasize the fact that you have AppleCare.
Failure in Africa equals a trip to the Netherlands for repair (at least from what I've read here). One person in Africa didn't have his iBook for months. You really need a dependable iBook to take to Africa. Tell them so.
    Good luck.

  • How do you reset the Apple ID to a new one for the automatic updates download tool?  It defaults to my old Apple ID, even though I have changed the Apple ID to the new one everywhere I can find.

I have an original Apple ID from my personal iPhone and iPad.  I bought a MacBook Pro for business and the Apple Store clerk told me to use the old Apple ID to make setup faster and that I could change to a new one later.   So... I did all that and changed the Apple ID everywhere I can find a place to do so.  And everything seems okay, except the Automatic Updates download tool defaults back to my original Apple ID.  That old Apple ID is grayed out in the login, so I cannot seem to change it to download and update under my new, business-related Apple ID for my MacBook Pro.  What to do?

Yes, absolutely, you can still use the old ID to update, etc., but I understood the OP to want to simply discard the old one and use only the new one. Maybe I misunderstood...
And, actually just now re-reading the first post, it could be that the ID had only been associated with the iDevices, so if he established a new ID and associated that with the new MBP, I frankly have no idea if he can still use the old ID on that machine (based on him saying that the old ID is greyed out) - have not come up with this type of situation before.

  • I dropped my ipod touch 4 apple give me a new one under warrenty?

I got an ipod touch 4th gen for christmas and its brand new. about a week ago i dropped it from about 4-5 feet. the glass shatterd and half of the lights on the screen dont work. everything is fine everything works on the ipod but at midway on the ipod screen it doesnt work. you can slide the bar and open the apps you just cant see them. the broken half of the screen is all white lights and its like the lights arnt working on that half of the screen but every thing else is working! will apple replace it with a small amount of charge or no charge?? help. is trading it in to buy a refurbished ipod worth it or could i get a replaced one because its really new and only 2-3 months old help me please?!file:///Users/angelahughes/Desktop/IMG_0042.JPG

The warranty does not cover accidental damage, loss or theft.  It is a warranty, not an insurance policy.   You may be eligible for an out of warranty replacement at your cost - http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=servicefaq&geo=United_States&product=ipod

  • Do apple give me a refurbished one for replacement?

I sent my iPod Touch 5th generation to apple for a replacement. It had a scratch as I bought it. Are they going to give a refurbished one? If so, what is the refurbished iPod? Whats the difference between refurbished and a new iPod? Also, can there be a battery issue for a refurbished one?
    Thanks

Yes they will replace your original with a refurbished one...... for $100.  They will not give you any guarantee that it will function or work properly for any length of time (as we just found out with the one my daughter has).  We got hers replaced less than two months ago and now the one we spent the $100 on has started to do crazy things.  When we called the company to get this one replaced, they said they could ...... for another $100!   I indicated to them we just got this less than two months ago and the guy on the other end kept saying it was out of warranty because of a purcahse date over two years ago!  When I told him that was incorrect he kept insisting that was the correct date and that if we wanted to get the faulty one replaced the only option we had was to either get a new one at full price or to get a refurb at $100.   He did not want to acknowledge that we were sold faulty equiptment.  Customer service with this company is a joke.  Unless you are willing to throw money away at problems they made, they don't want you as a customer.  They take no responsibility for mistakes or errors they make.  I'm going to throw out the problem unit my daughter has and NEVER buy anything from this company again as long as I live.
