If I do a back up of Mac HD using CCC, will that save everything in Parallels?

I wish to migrate to a different computer and preserve everything on it as is.
For the Windows part, I have Parallels 7. It seems to work well.
I usually back up the Mac partition (Mac HD) by cloning with Carbon Copy Cloner, and then using Migration Assistant to transfer everything (operating system, my personal files, applications) and preserving the architecture as well, so that when I restart the destination computer, everything is just like the old computer.
If I do this, will that transfer everything that is in Parallels?
I do internet banking in the Parallels part because the bank only uses Windows and not Macintosh for internet banking.
I had to have a technician from the bank set up internet banking on Parallels using remote control of the mouse and keyboard as they were in another country to me.
The security programs etc were in a foreign language and it was a long process.
I don't want to go through that again.
So if I want to know if I use CCC to clone the Mac HD, will it be necessary to clone the Parallels part separately in order to keep all the banking stuff and other stuff that is in Parallels?
Or will cloning the Mac HD with CCC be enough?
NB. I haven't had problems in the past with CCC.

Yes... IF you are not useing Boot Camp as your Windows Partition. By that I mean if Parallels has created a Windows partition on your main HD,(usually found in your Documents folder), then yes.. clonning everything to your external drive will preserve your Parallels info/data as well.
One thing you can do is to boot from your external drive on your current Mac to make sure everything is working right...
Do your clone
Go to Sys Prfes, and the Start Up Disc, and select your external drive, and
Restart.
You'll be booted from your external drive, you can check Parallels to make sure all is well.

Yes, the Old Master file has a folder for each year where I find all photos from that specific year. I am attaching a screen shot of the file.
In the meantime i have managed to download all photos (it did not download any video files though in mpg, avi, 3gp, m4v,mp4 and mov format) to a new iphoto library. Unfortunately the photos are quite mixed and often doubled up. I ma considering to purchase iphoto library which checks all duplicates in iphoto. this will save me a lot of time. What do you think?

How big of an external disk do I have to use to back up my mac mini using the time machine app?

I have a new Mac Mini, and I wanted to begin using time machine to back up my files. I tried to use an external hard drive that is used for our other machines (PCs) and it would not allow that hard drive to be used b/c it did not have a valid file structure. I did not know how to fix that, so I was going to buy another external hard drive to support backing up the Mac Mini with OSX10.8.1 and a 500GB hard drive. I saw somewhere that as lonmg as I had twice the RAM (4GB) it should be ok, but that seemed to be too small. I was considering buying a 500GB if necessary.
Does anyone know if I can use a small 8GB flash drive to support the backups or do I need a 500GB or similar external hard drive to backup the Mac Mini with time machine?

It is recommended that Time Machine has its Own Dedicated Hard Drive that is at least Twice the size of the Drive(s) you intend to Backup.

I have a WD My Passport for Mac (2 TB). It quit backing up my mac mini (8/2013) stating that it needed to be repaired. Our IT person reformatted it. Now time machine states that it can't back up 234 GB, because there's not enough space.

I have erased the passport for Mac and started all over. When there is ~15 minutes left in the initial backup of the mac mini hard drive (234 GB total), it gets weird and time machine states that it it calculating the time remaining. 24 hours later, it is still backing up but shows that <200 GB of 2 TB are available and it quits backing up stating that there is not enough room. HELP! The WD My Passport for Mac and the Mac mini are less than a year old.

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

Lost all bookmarks on the 18th of April, it's all blank, lost how do I get them back? I think there was an update that day & everything is gone. I'm heartsick.

I've been using Firefox for a while now. You've had a few updates & I've always kept my bookmarks. But on the 18th of April you did any update & I lost all my bookmarks in that update.. I've tried looking for the answer & the way to get them back. But have not found a way. So how do I get my bookmarks back from before the 18th of April of 2015? My iphone is installed to my PC and my PC got rebooted from scratch so I have to reinstall Itunes. When I hook back my Iphone4 to Itunes for backup, will it erase everything or will it still have my data?

My Iphone4 is registered to my itunes in my PC. My PC then got virus and had to be rebooted from scratch and so lost a lot of data. I reinstalled my itunes and registered my account and it looks like the musics bought through Itunes is reinstalled. NOw Im afraid that if I hook back my Iphone4 to the reinstalled itunes, I will lose all the numbers and data in my iphone . Please help! cant imagine writing down to pen and paper all data i have in my phone

Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

Ok so I have iCloud... I have a Mac at work and a mac at home - How do I get to use Back to my Mac - I use dto use it in MobileMe, which now doesn't work but I can't seem to get it to work in iCloud... Help????

Back To My Mac no longer working

For a couple years, I've never had a problem with Back To My Mac. I could control my Mac Mini at home using my Macbook Pro wherever I am. But since Yosemite, I've been unable to use BTMM. Screen Sharing still works fine when I'm at home, but not BTMM when I'm out of the house. Strangely enough, my Time Capsule shows up under "Shared" in a Finder window, but not my Mac Mini.
I've tried deselecting and reselecting Back To My Mac in System Preferences on both my Mac Mini and my MBP. I've tried restarting both machines. But nothing is working.
Oddly enough, it always says "Set up router for better performance" under Back To My Mac in System Preferences > iCloud, no matter where I am and what network I am on.
Any suggestions?

Back to my Mac - will it work between iCloud and MobileMe?

Just updated my MBookPro to Lion so it would work with iCloud and my new 4S. Everything moved over OK but there's one thing I'm concerned about: will Back to My Mac work now between machines that are not part of the iCloud account? I ask this because my Mac Pro at the office is still on Snow Leopard (and may remain that way, since I use it for editing+graphics and prefer to keep it clean and stable) and I use BtMM all the time to look at the MacPro while I'm at home. I took the precaution of logging out of MobileMe on the MacPro before I moved the account to iCloud on my laptop so there wouldn't be any weirdness. I imagine that if I went and logged in on it now I would no longer have the option of using BtMM on the same Apple ID anymore, yes? I have another Apple ID that's still under MobileMe, so I wonder if I could start using that one now on both machines under the old MobileMe system pref and link the two machines back together?

UPDATE: forget about signing in with a different MobileMe account once you've signed in to iCloud; even though both prefs exist, Lion will NOT let you sign in to both iCloud and MobileMe at the same time, even if they're different accounts.
Grrrr...guess it's back to Remote Desktop for me.

G4 powerbook can´t activate back to my mac function

With my g4 powerbook I can connect to mobileme but when I try to activate the back to my mac function i am told that there are connection problems. Thos causes that I can´t use the back to my mac function. Do you have any ideas?

I use a supplied router (o2) as the DHCP server and a number of extremes in bridging mode to extend my local network. The networks at my offices all use non Apple routers,. Back to my mac works across my LAN and my WAN but doesn't seem to be able to wake sleeping macs across the WAN.

Can't use Back to my Mac on OS X Lion

I have upgraded both my MacBook Pro and iMac 27" to OS X Lion, and set up everything as suggested for the iCloud, but I still can't use Back to my Mac function. In fact, on the macbook pro, I can't even see the shared sidebar (after trying several suggestions from the communities from 2008). And on the iMac, I can see the shared sidebar, but there is no option for Back to my Mac. I sware I've ticked Back to my Mac on the Finder's preferences, and everything apparent from the iCloud.
It'd be great if someone can point me to the right direction. Thanks!

After clicking your link, I think the solution described therein may work -- however, I brought my MBP to the Genius Bar and gave it to them the next 24-48 hours so they could run diagnostic tests, so I am not able to experiment with your solution. I will say this, though: while I was still trying to fix it myself, I DID get the "Allow me to use my Apple ID to reset my account password" checkbox, which I checked, and on the next screen where it lists my various User Accounts (mine, and Guest), I clicked on mine, typed the password (and every conceivable other password I could possibly think of), but nothing worked. Then, when it gave me my security question and gave me a link to "Reset my password," no other window popped up to allow me to perform the reset.
All in all, I'm fairly convinced this is a hardware issue, not a software issue. My system recognizes my HD sometimes, but not others. Perhaps there is something wrong with the cable connecting the HD to the logic board.

Back to My Mac Doesn't Work

Has anyone figured out how to make "Back to My Mac" work? I have 2 Macs running Leopard and a .Mac account, but do not even see a "Sharing" category in Finder, so it does not seem to work.
Are there any directions or suggestions as to how to make this work? There is a video on the website, but it has a "Sharing" category that my Macs are missing.

I stand corrected...finally. Three things.
1. My desktop, iMac G5, malfunctioned and was out of commission until repaired by an Apple tech today, so I hadn't been commenting on the whole Back To My Mac issue. But now that it is repaired (bad power supply on iMac G5), I can add an additional two cents.
2. My iMac G5 did not have 10.5.1. According to the updates I downloaded this afternoon using Software Update, I still had to install 10.5.1 on my G5. Odd I thought, since I was almost 100% certain it was already installed. But the updates included 10.5.1, so it was applied (or re-applied in my mind) tonight.
3. I reset my base station to the default settings on Airport Extreme and did the automated setup again to reapply security to it (WPA2), but left all other settings alone.
Voila...Presto...Hocus Pocus and....Drumroll please
Back To My Mac works instantly.
So I guess that rules out the theory on having a dot in your user name, since I have 3 dots. And sort of validates the whole 10.5.1 solving Back To My Mac. Granted I'm basically using all Apple products, but...
Hopefully, this sheds light for someone else.

How do I copy content from a 1st generation ATV back to my Mac?

I have a first generation ATV. Some time ago I synched from a MacBook a bunch of video onto the ATV hard drive. I subsequently deleted all the content from the MacBook. I now want to recover the content from the ATV hard drive back to the Mac. I am afraid that a simple sync between iTunes on the MacBook and the ATV will result in the MacBook deleting the content from the ATV, not in copying the content from the ATV back to the Mac. How can I safely recover the content from the ATV?

Right. Tiny confession. This is not actually my ATV. A friend is in this situation and I am trying to help, but having said that I'm pretty sure all the content is home movies, not purchased. I do have an app, Senuti, that will reverse copy content from an iPod or iPhone and it works great, but not on an ATV.

Back to My Mac through iPhone

Is it possible to use Back to My Mac while using my iPhone to connect to the internet from my MacBook Pro.
I am currently away working for several weeks and would like to access some material on my iMac. Back to My Mac was set up on the iMac before I travelled (including the modem), but I am unable to obtain a connection. In fact I can no longer even see shared options in open windows.

Try, if removing this folder
~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
from the User Library in your admin acoount will help. Don't delete it, just remove it to the Desktop and restart the system.
