If I do a normal library and playlist backup, will that also backup song rating and song played count?

Hi everyone, just wondering if when I do the routine backup straight from the iTunes menu and I've exported my playlist and library.xml file. I've also backed up the entire /Program Files/iTunes folder. Will they also backup my 'Song Rating' and 'Song Played Count' for my playlist? Thanks.

Backup from iTunes has gone. The .xml file isn't enough to rebuild the library completely. The .itl file is the crucial one, though you need all the media too.

No, your library will remain - but you should be keeping and maintaining a backup of your downloads/library.

No. What's on your iMac is a backup and you can re-install (re-sync).

You can install a 64-bit Windows 7 or Vista version in your Mac. Make sure you downloaded these drivers > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1630 Also, if you have the Snow Leopard DVD you used to upgrade your Mac or the OS X DVD that came with your Mac, you can use it to install the Boot Camp drivers

Your profile says you have 10.6, so why bother with the original 10.5 OS?
But to your question, before you erase anything, make a backup of your data for safe keeping and restoration. Having an external hard drive for this purpose is most useful.

I upgraded to Maverick OS X 10.9.5, numbers spreadsheet is saved. Upon re-opening, it appears to be frozen, a warning "file is invalid as index.xml file is missing". I checked, and the file is not "locked". This appears to occur only with using the new numbers app. When I open previous spreadsheets from old iWorks, no such problem occurs.
How did you resolve your problem?
Would appreciate any help here.

Apparently Reminders can either be a reminder or an event. If a reminder that's placed on Siri from the iPhone, it will stay ONLY on the iphone. If it's recorded as an event (not sure how to do that), it will transfer as you've said previously. I have done as everyone has said and "reminders" are not showing on anything but the iphone.

Why is command code showing for individual song, rating and review, related?

This weeks version of iTunes store is showing command code on individual album, song selection for song, rating and review, related and record label.

I would think it is a bug at the iTunes Store end. Essentially you are looking at web pages in the itunes store.

I answer my question: mpd + mpdcron can store song rating and play count and much more to sqlite database.

My Itunes Library is on a laptop that is no longer working and on my Iphone 4. How do I move the music library from my phone to my new laptop and Itunes?

I need to import my Itunes library from my Iphone 4 to my new Mac laptop. My old laptop is not working and now my Itunes Library only exists on my Iphone 4. I want to get the Iphone 5, but would only get the songs that I purchased thru Itunes and not my entire library.

Where is my music and playlists? Opened iTunes to find my music and playlists gone, as if I just loaded iTunes for the first time.

Running Windows 64 bit. This has happened before. It was running great for the last 8 months (including this morning), syncing no problem with a variety of Apple devices. Opened it today and it is like I have a brand new iTunes loaded up with no music or playlists.
Please assist getting my music back and playlists (took hours to rebuild playlists last time). Why does this happpen?

There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:
