If i dropped my ipod in water would it still work???

if i dropped my ipod in water would it still work ????????

There are a couple of solutions to that. Most involve silica gel. Silica can be found in little packets at shoe stores and such, it absorbs water and moisture. If you set your iTouch in a bowl of it, and let it sit for 3 days, you may get it back to working.

  • I dropped my iphone in water but it still works

i dropped my iphone 4i nthe toilet but quickly grabbed it and dryed it off..actually i was on the phone when it happend and kept the conversation going only thing is i can only use the speaker....the phone never turned off and everything works fine except the headset. I blow dryed it and now its sitting in rice any suggestions?

Leaving it in the rice, undisturbed, for a week, might help.  It won't hurt it.  I know of two friends who did the same thing as you!   One was successful with the rice and a gentle heat (maybe near a heat register for you), and the other had limited success - the phone worked for a few months after the rice etc., but then started giving trouble so had to be replaced.
    Good luck.

  • Okay well i dropped my ipod in water saturday night and i was wondering if apple would be able to give me a replacement on my ipod4g

okay well i dropped my ipod in water on saturday and was wondering if apple would be able to give a replacement?

The Apple warranty does not cover accidental damage.  The ipod has a liquid contact indicator installed in it, so they will know that your device was "dunked".  So, you will have to pay the repair price to have it replaced.  The following link should give you the amount you will need to pay for your model of ipod.

  • I dropped my ipod in water ... the backlight will come on when the battery is dead and i plug it in .. but when it is on the home screen it won't come on

i dropped my ipod in water ... the backlight will come on when the battery is dead and i plug it in .. but when it is on the home screen it won't come on

After drying the iPod in a sealed container od uncooked rice for a week with changing the rice daily, try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem likely caused by the water.

  • Blocked text msg on carrier would imessage still work between iphones

So I am wanting to get an iphone 5. My family plan on Verizon does not have Texting actually it is blocked. Would imessage still work between iphone on wifi and 4g?

They're not phones, thus they don't activate either iMessage or FaceTime for your phone number, only the Apple ID. That's why. IF you don't use your phone number, you should be able to activate using just your Apple ID, but as it is a phone, I suspect it will get stuck trying to activate using the phone number. You could try activating with the sim removed...in essence activate as an iPod touch.

  • Please help me a.s.a.p.- i dropped my ipod in water

someone please help me, i dropped my ipod nano in water and it worked fine for a few minutes, but then it started blinking on and off and then it wouldnt respond to anything and now it is just a screen that says " FireWire connections are not supported. To transfer songs, connect the USB cable provided." please help i dont know what to do, ive only had it for 6 months- is it replaceable/repairable?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Let it dry for about a week. Don't turn it on, try to turn it on, or charge it.
    After a week, try these...
    Resetting iPod
    Restore the iPod
If it will not work, you cannot get it serviced by Apple under the warranty as you have voided the warranty.
You would have to do something like this...

  • I dropped my ipod in water and i have pictures on there that i need! Hellp?

Someone please help me! I dropped my ipod in a cup of water and IMMEDIATLY turned it off and set it in a bad of rice. I havent touched it in a year and it STILL wont turn on or ANHYTHING! I have very important pictures of my father who passed away. How can i get my pictures back?!

    - Charge it overnight
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.  Remove any corrosion.
    - If iTunes still will not see the the iPod your only hope is a data recovery company.

Just let the battery die if you can't turn it off.

  • Dropped my ipod in water; anything I can do to save it?

My son just dropped his iPod Classic in water; it started making faint buzzing sounds and will not shut off.  Anything we can do to salvage it?

Place it in a sealed bag of desiccant or dried rice for a week while changing out the desiccant or rice daily to help absorb moisture from the iPod.
After a week or so, see if you can it to power on and function properly. If not, the water likely already did its damage to the iPod's internal components and circuitry.

  • So i dropped my Ipod touch in water. It still works but the backlight is out.Can it be saved. this was a week ago

I just want to know can it be fixed

It is thoroughly dry? Did you dry it in rice?
If after it is dry have yu tried restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod?
I would say it can be fixed.  However, it might not be worth it if the logic board is the cause.  A backligh replacement is not that expensive.

  • Dropped phone in water and it still works.

I dropped my phone in water for 2 seconds and it still works but should i keep it in rice just in case or can i continue using it

    Water and electronics don't mix.
Usually when there is water damage, you power off the phone and let it sit in a bag of uncooked rice fro at least 4 to 5 days.
The water damage is what is wrong with your phone.
You can get an out of warranty iphone at the Apple store.

  • HT201269 If my current ipod is broken, would i still be able to transfer music, photos, etc. to a new ipod?

I would like to transfer content from my old ipod to a new one, but my old ipod has a broken screen. The ipod is still functional but will not let me put in my passcode. I've already read about how I need to back up my old ipod before I transfer content to the new ipod, but as I have explained, I can't do that because I can't enter my passcode to get into my ipod. Would it still be possible though to transfer content from my old ipod to a new one? If anyone could help me with this that would be great.
    Thanks

If you have iCloud backup turned on, the iPod will automatically backup to iCloud one daily wihe charging an if it has an interent connection. Thus, it iCloud backup is on and the iPod is connected to an internet connection, charge the iPod and then restore from iCloud backup.
iCloud: Restore your iOS device from iCloud
Otherwise you  will have to restore from either an exiting iCloud or iTunes backup

  • TS3274 Ipad 1 was dropped, screen is intact, can hear it still works but screen is blank, tried to restore but it failed? Help

    Hi,
My Autistic son dropped his ipad and now the screen is blank? The sound still works and I can hear the apps working but the screen is blank. The screen is not broken or chipped at all. I tried to restore it (as the Apple Store recognises the Ipad when I plug it into the computer) but the restore failed with an unknown error numbered 3194.  Does anyone know if there is a quick fix for this or do I need to send it into an Apple Store for repairs? I live on a small island so taking it into a store isn't an option unfortunately, plus my non verbal Autistic son is VERY distressed, so any quick resolution to enable to screen to be visual again would be a massive help please. Thank you
