If I duplicate a page in pages, it adds an unwanted blank page in between

Can anyone help?
I need to duplicate page 1. If I show the thumbnails view - duplicate page, instead of just adding an identical page 2 - it adds a blank page 2 and then identical page 3. Then on the thumbnail view, both page 1 and 2 have the yellow box round them as if linked. If I try to delete page 2 it deletes page 1 too.
What is going wrong and why is it adding a blank page in between? I've even tried to do it as a Capture Page and add it as a section, but that again adds the blank page.
It is most frustrating!

The yellow box does indicate a linkage. I shows you that all the pages in the box are in the same Section. Individial pages are shown as icons in the thumbnail pane, but there is nothing you can do with individual pages there. Entire Sections can be Copied, Pasted, Deleted or Duplicated. Not so with individual pages. To delete a Page, delete the content of that page, or isolate the page with Section Breaks and delete the isolated page as a section. To add a page, insert a Page Break, or a pair of them. Or, insert a Section Break or a pair of Section Breaks. I think you get the idea.

Performing OCR text recognition in all pages of a PDF document which has blank pages

The PDF pages in the file are scanned as an image, but there are blank pages also. So, page 1, 2 have images of scanned text, page 3 is blank, pages 4, 5, have images of scanned text, page 6 is blank and so on.The series of blank pages is 3, 6, 9....
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro version 9 on Windows XP. I choose the Document option in menu, OCR Text recognition->Recognize text using OCR->All pages. But, the OCR stops after page 2.
Then, I go to page 4 and find that it is still an image(and I cannot copy the text from it). So, then I have to choose the Document option in menu, OCR Text recognition->Recognize text using OCR->All pages. But, the OCR stops after page 6.
The document has some 200 pages and I don't want to manually do the choose the Document option in menu, OCR Text recognition->Recognize text using OCR->All pages for all pages which have text.
I also tried choose the Document option in menu, OCR Text recognition->Recognize text using OCR->Page 1 to page 200, but that too does not work.
I can manually go to each blank page, delete it, then do the OCR but that would be tedious.
1. Am I missing something in doing the OCR of all pages?
2. Can I set up a batch process to do the delete of blank page series or can I set up a batch process which does OCR of all pages(and does not stop at a blank page) as it is doing now?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hm, you could convert every pdf-page to a image file (jpeg, etc.):
-install the package imagemagick
-use the command convert
convert -trim -density 150 your.pdf your.jpg
This will generate a jpg-file for every pdf-page; "-trim" removes the white margins, density specifies the resolution of the page (you could also try "-resize" instead of "-density") and 150 specifies amount of dots per inch.
This does not generate a new pdf-file, but maybe there is a way to convert the images back into a single pdf?

Unwanted blank pages inserted when creating pdf from scanner

Hello, when creating a pdf from a document scanned via Adobe Acrobat X Pro, the program inserts an unwanted blank page in between each page being scanned. So, if scanning 50 pages, we get 100, etc. How do we remediate this problem? We have worked with the default settings, to no avail. We're using a Fujitsu fi-5530c2 scanner. When i try to open a tab a Yahoo search page comes-up, i just want a blank page.

When I do a Ctrl-t to get a new tab it brings up a Yahoo search page. I want a Blank page, like I used to get with a new tab. I must have downloaded the Yahoo stuff, but need to know how to reset my tabs in Firefox to get a Blank page again.

When I open pages it scrolls through various numbers of blank pages with a line at the side, then stops at a document, but usually an old document. I have to go to "open recent" to get on the page I want.

It's the 1st version of Pages I've had on my computer.
Can't delete them as they scroll through them at a rapid pace. The longer I've had the problem the more blank pages it scrolls through.

Unwanted Blank Page When Table At Bottom of First Page

I have an RTF template which has a table with the typical for loop as the row generator and a totals row after that. There are no line breaks after the table, and the table's paragraph is set to single line spacing with 0 pt spacing before and after.
When the table reaches the bottom of the first page, but does NOT go onto the next page, there is a blank page at the end of the report. Any ideas on how to eliminate this?

I have an rtf template which is used to print output in pdf format. I have a table which has many rows which displays data for each record. In order to avoid breaking the page in between the rows of a record , i have added an outer table with single row and column and pasted the data table inside it and changed the row property of outer table to 'Allow Rows to Break Across Pages' to unchecked. It works fine only if the first record set length does not exceed a full page. IF the first record expanded to more than one page, it leaves a blank page at the very first and start the record at the second page. Can you please advise how to solve this issue. Its very URGENT please..

Unwanted blank pages appearing in copy function

The new iWork 08 book says if you want to add pages to an already existing document then click on the thumbnail of the one you want to add and copy, and then click on the thumbnail of main one you want to add TO and paste. This ALWAYS brings up a blank page in between them that can not be deleted?????????? Pretty useless. Any ideas?

I assume that both of your documents are in fine shape before you try to combine them. No extraneous break commands, blank sheets, etc., both documents fitting well within their margin boundaries.
I'm having success, but I'm not doing exactly what you say you are. I copy a page from the thumbnail in the Source Document's Pages Pane. I then Paste into the blank lower portion of the Destination Document's Pages Pane, not directly onto a Thumbnail there.
When I do this, a Section Break is added at the end of the Destination Document's original content, so the added content starts on a new page. Deleting the Section Break moves the new content up adjacent to the original Destination Document's content.
You might give this method a try and see if it works for you.

Unwanted blank pages appearing in 7.0.5 (but working in 9)

I'm trying to create a form which has a front page and three optional additional sections that appear when the respective buttons are clicked. I need the form to work in Reader 7.0.5
I've got it working just fine in LiveCycle 8.2 and Acrobat 9, but when it is opened in Reader 7.0.5 three blank pages appear after the front page, and as the optional sections are opened, they replace/fill-up these blank pages.
Any help would be most gratefully received!
Details:
The form is targeted to 7.0.5 and saved as a dynamic XML form.
I am not seeing any warnings, but when switching to Preview PDF, I do see the following under the log:
"Invalid version: the current version of the XFA template model exceeds the capability of Acrobat/Adobe Reader 7.0.5"
The buttons to reveal the page have the following formcalc scripts:

Could be caused by many reasons.
Is the paragraph format set to skip a line the first time it is printed (SPACE AFTER setting)?
Is the data causing it to overflow across the line?
Is there a line feed in the actual SAPscript (like a "/" paragraph format)?

Hi Chohan,
Can you try to open the canvas in a standalone browser and see what happens? I assume that the BSP page works if you call it directly?
Another thing I would do is run a HTTP traffic trace (using Fiddler) and see what traffic comes back. Finally I would look at the NWBC verbose trace file and see if it has any clues in it.
I have noticed that the IE control that NWBC uses to render web pages does not behave exactly like standalone IE... but I don't know much more about it (yet).

Unwanted blank page

While working on one of the pages or the Master Page (I'm not sure which), in my document, I inadvertently typed a sequence of keys or clicked with my mouse on an option that some how ads a new page to my document every time I add a new element to the document. By the time I realized what I had done it was too late to hit Undo. So now whenever I add a new element, or copy & paste an existing element I end up with an extra page in the document where that element is placed. If I move the element to where I want it, I can not go back and delete the blank page. Anyone know what I may have done wrong or how I can get LC to stop adding the extra pages (or even delete the blank pages)? Thanks! Daniel

I have the same problem, but the suggested solutions did not work.
I have two master pages -- Portrait and Landscape.
Pages 1-4 of my form uses the portrait master page. Page 5 uses the landscape master page. I am getting a blank, landscape page between pages 4 and 5.
The hierarchy view shows:

But in both Design View and PDF Preview, I get an extra, blank page between pages 4 and 5.
I have tried lots of different settings in the pagination tabs for pages 4 and 5, but can't get that blank page to disappear.
I am a newb, so I could be missing something basic.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If anyone's willing to take a look at my file I would be greatly appreciative.

Check where did you specified the conditions..you might probably specified on the windows.
Use Command to trigger the 3rd and 4th page instead of calling from previous pages. You can put the condition while using Command.

"insert" "section" causes unwanted blank page for numbering

I have a section/page numbering problem.
I want to start page numbering on the 5th page (Chapter One). But.. when I insert a Section Break between the end of the TOC and first Chapter (where I want re-numbering to start) it causes a blank page to be inserted after the TOC and before the section break...
How do I insert a section break between TOC and Heading that's set to "start new page" without getting blank page?

Thanks I've got your file and have fixed it. It had to do with the way you constructed it.
This is how to do what I did after I deleted your existing T.O.C.:
1 click at foot of Title page > Menu > Insert > Section Break
2 Type "Table of Contents" return > Menu > Insert > Table of Contents
3 Menu > Insert > Section Break
If there is a return at the beginning of the Introduction page just delete it.
I also tidied up your layout a bit and have emailed it back.

Apps being moved around with sync - unwanted blank page inserted

Ever since I bought a few new apps (craigspro+, vision test, etc, nothing too big or fancy) last night, when I sync my phone with my iTunes, it moves all the apps around, inserts a blank page onto my phone, and most of my new apps are inserted on a page AFTER the blank page and therefore I can't reach them once the phone is disconnected from my iMac and in hand. I've tried restoring, I've tried manually moving them all around in iTunes, and every time i hit "Apply" they bounce back to where the computer wants them and I can't even reach the new apps. What's up and how do I fix this???

Pixma 410 prints one page {as wanted} then spits out 7 blank pages Why ??

This happens when i use page setup in print preview to resize the image.
Print dialog box indicates all pages as selected
Not able to make any other selection. Display of print que shows 8 pages to print. One page of image is printed,
(as wanted} followed by 7 blank pages. ?? Help

The issue may be related to the document or program that you are currently attempting to print from.
If you are printing from the web, you may experience a cut off depending on how the page was formatted.
To resolve this issue, please check to see if a 'Print' option is available inside or around the article or email you wish to print. This should properly format the page for printing.
If you continue to have difficulties, please copy the text and then paste it into your desired word processing program for printing.
