If you save an image edited in PS as a JPEG or TIFF file, anyone will be able to open it without having PS installed.

I am an English teacher, and my school just bought iPads for my students and me. I want to use Dropbox for file sharing and to be able to edit their work on my iPad so that my students will be able to open their work from Dropbox and see my corrections.

Thanks, everyone, for these helpful suggestions. Before we got the iPads last week, we were saving compositions from desktops onto the school server. There was not a problem with the students seeing other students' files, so I didn't password protect them, but there was the issue of copying all their work onto a thumb drive so I could grade it at home. I like accessing files in the cloud much better. Under the previous system, I was also printing out their work and marking it up for the students to correct before I put it on our class web site. Now under this new system, I would like to go paperless, sharing my digital revisions with the students as they perfect their work before I put the final products online. This usually takes 3 or more revisiosns. So far, I have tried the following apps: Quickoffice, Documents to Go, Writeup, Plaintext, Pages, Essay, and Droptext. The students and I have no trouble saving into and retrieving from Dropbox, but there is no good way so far for me to edit their work in color so that they can open up the file and see my comments in order to make their revisions. I do have this capability on my laptop and desktop by using the redlining feature in Word. It's just that I'd rather be able to use my iPad for this purpose. I will check out Evernote.

MobileMe no longer exists. If you were sent links to a MobileMe gallery, those are no longer available. You should ask the person who originally sent them to you to send them another way.

Is there any timeline soon that apple users will be able to open things that need adobe flash player? I can not even play any games on Facebook, I can't open certain files, pictures sent to me or things like forms I news to see when I am not home

I am so frustrated about Adobe Flash player. I can not play any Facebook games, open certain files and pictures and documents that I need to access because not only does this phone not do it but my old Palm Pre couldn't do it either. I have had so many times where I needed to access things either online or via email, or message that I can not even look at because of this. I have to wait until I for home or ask someone else to do it for me which is embarrassing. I rave about my iPhone 4S all the time because it is truly great except for this. When it use to happen with my Pal Pre I figures once I got my iPhone that it wouldn't happen anymore but I guess I was completely wrong. I have had this problem for years and always get a message saying that it's being worked on. Well a couple of years is a long time to work on it. I understand about contracts and stuff but why is it taking a company such as Apple to be able to get it for their products? I get a lot and always want to play the games on Facebook but I can't do it on most of them at least the ones I have tried. So I can not play against anyone at that time I have to wait until I get home or use someone else's computer or something. Please tell me that in the extremely near future that this will not be a problem anymore. PLEASE!! I am sure I am not the only one out there who is having issues and if you do get it available please let there be an upload/upgrade for current phones and not just for future versions of Apple phones. That just wouldnt be very fair to all of your loyal customers and tell everyone to get your products because they are great and end up leaving this little problem out until they by your phone. Especially if they just got the phone they have. You guys are awesome with technology I have faith that you can make this available to all Apple products old and new by uploads or upgrades. I would have thought that being a company such as you are that it would already be taking care of right from the beginning and not wait years to take care of somewhat that is very important ro have especially when there is so much our there using Adobe Flash now. How can I get Thunderbird to propose an email address when I start to type that person's name?

This just happened today. Before, everything was fine.
Starting today, when I type someone's name in the To box of my email, no email address comes up. I have to go to my address book to find out what it is and then type it in manually.
I want the old system back where I typed in the first few letters and it offered me email addresses from my address book.
What do I need to do to get it back?

Check to see if the feature is turned on.
From the Menu Bar select '''Tools-Options-Composition-Addressing
No menu bar? Press the alt key.
Forget about going back to the address book from the write window. Turn on the Contact Sidebar.
Open a Write window and press F9 to turn it on. Find the contact that you want and double click on it to add to an address box or select multiple contacts and use one of the Add To buttons at the bottom.

How do I email photos with a psd extension to others and will they be able to open them?

I need to send about 40 photos each with a psd extension to a business organisation. Will they be able to access them and print them? The photos each show several railway sleepers and I had to mark each sleeper with a number to identify them in the text of the email.

Excel sheet is not able to open in edit mode.

I have one issue where user is not able to open an excel file in edit mode.
User uploaded .XLS file and have MS office 2003 installed on her system.
I asked her to save it as .xlsx and then upload it again....any idea why she is not able to open in edit mode.

What did you mean that the user is not able to open an excel file in edit mode?
Whether he or she can find "Edit in Microsoft Excel" via clicking the right of the name of the file.
If yes, when he or she clicked it, whether there are some errors occurred.
Whether other users can open the excel file in edit mode.

Why cant i email a picture

I have always been able to email a picture that took with my phone but ever since I upgraded to ios6 it doesn't seem to work. Very frustrating, is there a fix does anyone else have this issue?

Are you going into photos, into the photo folder where the picture you want is, then tap edit in the top right, then tap the photo you want to email( Will put a red check mark on the photo), then tap share at the bottom, and choose email.?

UDPATE:
Spoke with Express lane, and issue was escalated. Kudos to the support guys that handled this one (Brian and Yi). Went through everything in detail and took all the crash dumps off the iphones and ipads to send to engineering.
After backing up the contacts, the recommendation was to delete all contacts in iCloud. Doing that caused my iCloud to crash (in the browser), so more crash dumps were sent to apple.
Eventually got all contacts deleted, then did a resync. Looks like IOS devices are coming back to life and syncing again.
Also, Outlook iCloud connector has just been updated to ver 1.0.1 so i installed that on their recommendation.
BOTTOM LINE workaround:
1. Backup contacts
2. Delete contacts in iCloud
3. Delete accounts on IOS devices
4. Recreate accounts on IOS devices.
Hoping a real root cause can be found and real fix implemented. This has caused me to doubt the stability of iCloud, so i will procees with caution.

Let I explain you about this picture. Ya is my destination folder I put all my picture in this folder. and then I right click on it --> and then go to get info after that --> this dialogbox window apear and I change all the permission to read and write. when I open light room and import the destination folder Ya. I still meet the same problem " Some import operation were not performed. Could not move a file to the request location." do you have any solution beside of this please let me know.

Deleting Pictures in Edit Mode

When I am in Full Screen Edit Mode I don't seem to be able to delete an open picture simply by pressing the DEL button. The combination Command-Option-Delete works but not the Delete alone. A friend of mine can delete an open picture with just DEL button. Am I the only one with that problem? Are there settings to activate deleting picture in Full Screen Edit Mode with just DEL button? (I think the first time I run the program after installation the DEL button alone worked but I am not 100% sure)

I tried rebuilding just some minutes a go.
I am now revising my previous statement. When deleting photos in newly (in this session) created albums, album list is not updated until I select another album and then back again. However, image count of the album is updated.
Information pane is never updated, unless closed and opened.
And while writing this, iPhoto came to a dead stop in the background.

IPhoto emailing different pictures as the same picture?

Our iPhoto recently started emailing different pictures that we select as the same photo. Example- We individually select 5 different photos, select Share, and email them. When they come through on email, its the same picture 5 times. Its odd because the photos all have different file numbers in their title, which makes sense since its different pics we're selecting but getting the same ones in email.
Any idea whats causing this? I did just update to the latest version of iPhoto and didnt have this problem before. Perhaps a new bug in the latest version? I didnt see any other posts about this issue. I'm also using the latest version of Lion.

Yep.
Its an issue with how iOS mail interprets the email templates used by iPhoto.
Let Apple know you are affected by this: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html
If you don't care about using iPhoto's templates: iPhoto > Preferences > General > Email photos using > and choose Mail -- This will bypass the templates and iOS devices will see the images properly.
