So if i update my iphone, I will lose all of my photos, apps and music..correct? None of these things are saved on my computer [except some of the music]...

You should be importing all pics taken with the iphone to your computer regularly as you would any digital camera.  this is covered in the manual.
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
You should transfer all itunes purchases from the iphone to the computer:  File>Transfer Purchases.

  • If I upgrade to ios 7 right from my device (not itunes) will I loose my pictures, apps and info

If I upgrade to ios 7 right from my iphone (not through itunes) will my pictures, apps and other info get automatically erased?

It shouldn't, but you should update your iPhone's backup immediately beforehand.
And a good idea to import the photos/videos in the Camera Roll with your computer beforehand to be on the safe side.

  • Will changing location for Itunes Apps and Music files to different drive (from dive C: to drive E:)now effect how they work. And will Itunes be able to find them, when I do a sync?

Will changing the location of folders effect how my Itunes will run? As I am runnig out of room fast on my C drive. And have almost a 1 terrabyte of room on the drive I want it to all to go to. I was thinking of just cutting and pasting.

No, but do not simply move files around else you will have a lot of grief...
Do NOT move files then change iTunes prefs to a new location as this will not work.
    Quit iTunes.
Copy your entire /Music/iTunes/ folder (and everything inside it) on your C: drive to the E: drive.
    Hold Shift and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select the iTunes folder you copied to the E: drive.
That is all you need to do. You do not need to change any other settings.

  • All my husbands contacts, apps and music downloaded on new iPad

Just bought a new iPad and when I set it up in iTunes under my account I'd it pulled in all my husbands stuff. How do I prevent that from happening when I buy a new iPhone?

Do not use your husbands account for iCloud. Of course you could set up your new device using two separate Apple IDs: one for iCloud (it should be yours and would include services like Mail, Calendars, Contacts etc.) and one for iTunes & App Store purchases (could be yours or any other Apple ID).

Yes, you'll loose your purchased apps, music and data when you do a Restore.

  • If I reset or restore my iPod touch will all my apps be deleted? If so how do i get the bought one back ???

If i reset or restore my iPod touch will all my apps be deleted? If so what about the bought ones ?

    - A reset does not delete any media (apps, music etc) from the iPod.
    - A restore will delete apps, music and other media from the iPod.  If the media is in the iTunes library then a restore from backp will restore the media and after a restore to factory defaults/new iPod you can sync the media back to the iPod.
    - If not in the iTunes libray, you can redownload most iTunes pruchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • How do I set up my child's new ipod touch with separate apple id, so we don't share apps and music? says she is too young for her own account.

Bought my 9 year old an ipod touch last night. Tried to set it up with her own account and her own Apple Id, so we do not share apps and music. It tells me she does not meet age requirement to have her own id. Tried to set it up on computer, and my music transferred to her new ipod. Help.

You will have to set up the account in your name and supervise its use. The birthday you specify has to result in an age of at 13 years.

  • I have a 2nd generation i touch, if i purchase a new i touch, will all my apps be transfrable to new touch?

I have a 2nd generation i touch, if i purchase a new i touch will all my apps be transferable to the new touch or will I have to buy apps again?

You don't have to re purchase iTunes media as long as you use the same AppleID.
When you get the new iPad connect it to your computer and sync your iTunes purchases.

  • Ipod Touch will not turn on, recognize itunes and fully function.

My Ipod Touch will not turn on, recognize itunes and fully function. When it does, once in a blue moon, after 5 minutes it freezes. I am wondering if its becuase battery was left dead for 2 weeks or problems with the iOS. Resetting does not help.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    Try a Reset
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
    Turn the iPod On...
If that does not help... See Here:

    - See:

    - Try another cable
    - Try another charging source
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.

  • HT4623 My ipod touch will not sync with my computer and computer says that it is due to an impropper response from ipod.

my ipod touch will not sync with my computer and the computer says that it is due to an impropper response from ipod , what do I do?

    Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
    Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.

  • Ipod touch 4th gen..updated to the most recent iOS and can not synch to get my apps and music back

... my ipod locked up.  I found the instructions to reboot.  I then had to reset it to factory settings.  Now the ipod will not synch to bring back all my apps and music (which I can see on my itunes account). When I connect to the computer with the USB cable, it opens up itunes and goes right to the 'set up your ipod' screen and asks me to restore from a backup.  I have done this at least three times.  I even dissabled my security / antivirus software and still no success. What steps am I missing?

Downgrading is not supported by Apple.
Apps can be downloaded again for free: Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If he still has any backup, for example as part of the computer backup routine, he could restore the settings and data again by replacing the iTunes backup folder. The folder is located here:
    Windows XP:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Windows Vista and Windows 7:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
Note: If you do not see the AppData or Application Data folders, you may need to show hidden files (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7), or iTunes may not be installed in the default location. Show hidden files and then search the hard drive for the Backup directory.
