If I get broadband through a cable modem....?

If I get my broadband through a cable modem (Time Warner service), and am trying to use Airport Express on my laptop does switching 'networks' screw up anything with the cable service?
When I tried to set up Airport Express to play music to my stereo I got a message telling me I already have a network -- and do I want to switch?
I haven't tried for fear of messing something up with the cable modem which is hooked up by ethernet to my old trusty G4 tower.
Thanks in advance.

Is there a router connected to your cable modem? Is it a wireless router? If so, configure the AirPort Express (AX) to join the wireless nework provided by that router.

  • Getting broadband for new i mac g5 purchase

Hi. I am looking advice to help me make the best choice for setting up a broadband connection to go with a new i mac g5. I am currently using a pc with a dial up internet service provided by ntl. I have had issues with this company in the past so I am unsure whether to trust them with providing me with broadband. Basically all I want is a reliable service that is reasonably priced and without any compatability issues once I take delivery of my new mac. I also own a ps2 games machine and would welcome the opputunity to play net work games once I have broadband. I understand that is also possible to play music from my mac via a stereo with right set up this too would be a bonus. I have spoken to ntl but they were a bit vague only saying they would provide broadband through a cable modem. I am a bit of novice so would appreciate any easy to understand help/advice. Thanks v much.

jonswy, welcome to Discussions. Your best advice as this forum spans the globe is to talk to friends and neighbors in your area and see who they use and do they LIKE them. Cable is one form of high speed and ADSL is another (uses your phone line) but unlike dial up you can use your phone still while surfing. If you have more than one computer you will want to invest in a router. There are wireless and cabled routers and your Imac is equiped to go either way. So you would need a network card for each additonal computer. Wireless is a bit more money but is much more flexible (no cabling to run through your house). Hopefully this will give you enough info to get started, but if you have more questions just post back. Bob :~))

  • Trouble obtaining IP adress through DHCP protocals, cable modem.

Ok, lets see where do I start. Recently obtained a Mac G4 (not sure of the details other than that) and trying to hook it up to the internet through a cable modem.
The problem is, I can't seem to get it to comunicate properly to the DHCP server to obtain one automaticaly. Without that, I can't access the internet.
I've talked to the ISP support and they say that everything checks out on their side. I'm inclined to believe that as the computer I'm using now (windows PC) is connected to the same cable modem and has absolutely no issue.
Obviously as a windows user, I'm a newb at working macs, and so far I've pulled up zilch trying to research this issue.
Does any one have any idea what might be causing this and how to resolve it?

Many cable systems only talk to the machine that was registered when you signed up (thats why they ask for the MAC addess of your computer) or they want you to pay for a second, third... IP address.
A small (4 port) managed router should resolve your issue of "only one at a time"
The router will act as your local DHCP server and allow multiple machines to access internet (and each other) simultaniously.
On their web site, Linksys provides step-by-step configuration for most major cable systems.

  • Getting an older iMac to use cable modem

I have a PowerBook G4 and a MacBook that are both using the AirPort Express wireless network that I have set up in my home. I have a cable modem and that modem has a ethernet cable that goes from the back of the modem and plugs into my AirPort Express. The back of the cable modem also has a USB port on it as well. Now, I also have a iMac G3 (with a translucent green and clear plastic case) that I am wanting to get online with the cable modem. The iMac G3 is running Mac OS X 10.1.4 with 64MB of RAM. I have a USB cable that can connect from the cable modem and then to that iMac G3. I am trying to find a way to connect the iMac to the cable modem WITHOUT having to buy anything and WITHOUT having to mess up my already setup wireless network. If someone can offer up some tips on how to accomplish this, I would appreciate it. If I need to change how my wireless network is set up a bit, that is fine. Just want to find a way to get all 3 computers on my network while still allowing the 2 laptops to remain on a wireless network. Thanks for any help in advance.

Hey again, Roger. So, here's the scoop. I got my Linksys router back. I unplugged my cable modem for starters. Then, I unplugged the ethernet cable from the modem that was coming from my Airport Express. I then plugged in a separate ethernet cable into the back of the modem and the other end into the WAN port on my Linksys router. I then took another ethernet cable and plugged one end into the iMac and the other end into an open LAN port on the router. I then plugged my cable modem back in. (It has no "on" or "off" switch) I then plugged the routers power cord into the back of it and the other end into a power strip. I checked the Network settings on the iMac to make sure they were all correct. I opened Internet Explorer (the only browser on the iMac) and I got an error of "The specified server cannot be found.". I found this a bit odd since I had everything connected correctly and the settings correct. Then, I tried restarting the iMac thinking that may do it. It didn't do anything. Then, just for kicks to see what would happen, I pushed the "reset" button on the back of the Linksys router and held that for a couple seconds. After releasing it, the router restarted and the lights were flashing on it again. Then I went and checked the settings again for the iMac and they were still correct. Then I typed in that IP address http://192.168.1.1/ and it asked for a password. I typed in that password and it brought up the settings for the router. I made sure they were all correct according to what you told me. I then tried going to http://www.apple.com/ to see if it would work yet. And this time it did. It connected just fine. I read in the manual for the router and it tells you to hit that reset button on the back after setting everything up. So, I got the iMac online just fine and dandy now. And everything should be working great, right?? Well, its not. Here's my problem. The iMac goes online just fine. I set the Airport Express to Bridge Mode just like you said. I checked the settings on both the MacBook and the PowerBook G4 to make sure they were right. I tried opening a website on both of the laptops and neither one of them wanted to connect. They could not find the Airport Express. Now, I am NOT saying what you told me is wrong. But what I am saying is this. I must have missed another setting or something somewhere that makes this work the way its supposed to. What else do I need to do in order for the laptops to find the Airport Express? I DID connect the ethernet cable coming from the Airport Express into an open LAN port on the router. So, I know that isn't the issue. Ha ha. There must be just 1 small thing I am missing and I need to know what it is. What are your thoughts?? Thanks.

  • Connecting new G4 to Cable modem via wireless

I do not have a wireless router today, but have a Lynksys for my Vonage. I have a new G4 downstairs and would like to connect through my cable modem which lies behind my lynksys. What is my fastest and cheapest route to enable my new G4 through the cable modem without getting my cable company involved

i think you would want to get your cable company involved to a certain degree anyway. some providers do not support a wireless setup. you have to get a wireless router for what you want to do (i would prefer apple base station, but you want the cheapest solution) but you have to make sure your provider will support a wireless connection. popular wireless routers are made by linksys, d-link, belkin, and netgear. • Can I have cable modem connected to iMac but shared with Airport Express?

I have my internet access to my iMac through a cable modem wired to the Mac. I use the Airport Express to play music from the Mac wirelessly to my stereo. Can I then share the internet access I have on the iMac through the AX without actually connecting the modem to the AX? The wiring is easier to get to the Mac than it would be to get wiring from the cable modem to the Airport Express at the stereo. I want to be able to access the internet wirelessly from a PC laptop that I also have.
    Thanks

Yes, you can do that. Using the AirPort Utility, you would set the AirPort Express up to create a wireless network giving it whatever name you want. When it gives you an error message that nothing is connected over ethernet, you can click the button to ignore that message and it will perform as you are requesting.
Note that if your internet connection stops working when you do this, then you may need to change your network port priority so ethernet is higher than AirPort.

  • Suggestions for Cable Modem and Wireless Router

    Hey everyone!
I have the new iMac and would like to have a faster wireless router. Currently using an old D-Link Wireless G router and would like something like the Time Capsule (as it has Airport Extreme in it) or Netgear Rangemax Dual Band Wirless-N Gigabit Router. My problem is, my Internet is through my cable company, so it comes into the house as a cable connection. It appears that these two combos would still require the use of a cable modem.
Any suggestions to keep the equipment down to one piece? If not, any suggestions for a cable modem so I can return this old one to the cable company?
What would be the best/quickest wireless router?
    Thanks for your help!

Go to your ISP's web site and do a search from your ISP for compatible cable modems. Then buy the capable modem your ISP says that is comp[atible. On the new cable modem find the Serial number & MAC address, make then call your ISP tech help desk and tell them the new modem you got and he/she will ask you that information. When the ISP tech says they can see/ping that new cable modem then it will work. Then connect a new cheaper Airport Extreme and any external USB2 hard drive to connect to that new Airport Extreme. I say this because Apple put out and Update a little while ago that will allow an external connected to an Extreme as a Time Machine disk.
PS: Remember the old trick of checking you Ethernet cables. I can't count how times I have seen professionals install all new high speed switches, routers, etc. and wonder why no speed is seen. Then after numerous trouble shooting they discover they used the old 10 Base T cables and just changing the cable solved their problem.
Just make sure you do this one at a time starting with getting the ISP compatible cable modems list to know what cable modem you can buy (to save that monthly ISP rental fee). Then you can get the going as long as so speak with your ISP tech to give them that new cable modem Serial number and MAC address so they can register it with their servers.
This will be to easy as long as you do things in step.

  • Lost connection to my cable modem

Ok people I am hoping that you can help me out here. Yesterday my Time Capsule stop connecting to the internet through the cable modem. Called Comcast assuming it was there service.  After an extensive check process we determined that service and the cable modem were working correctly.  So then i proceeded to call Apple Support. Again through the check process of all the peices that are connected to finally determine that the TC was the culprit.  I took the TC back to the Apple Store and they graciously exchanged it out.  I took it back home hooked it up and it we are back to where I started, the new TC is responding exactly like the old unit. So my cable modem is a Motorala SB6141 and I have sevice through Comcast.  The cable modem and TC have been working together for 6 months before this happened, with no new hardware added in the last three months. The cable modem when connected to the computer (Mac or Windows) directly can connect to the internet.  I even tried connecting the cable modem to a AirPort Express and it had the same effect as the TC.  So does anybody have any suggestions?

The SB6141 is problematic with the Airport routers.
There is some issue of compatibility.. it is hard to figure out.
If you replace the cable modem with a different one it will be more likely to work. I am not in the US so just look at posts about the more compatible models. Or simply use another brand router, and set the TC in bridge and use it as wireless and backup target.
I do think you can get some improvement in some cases using a crossover cable. I have made that recommendation and it has worked for people.
Or a small 10/100 switch between the two .. cable modem and TC.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23236139?ac_cid=tw123456#23236139
You need to power cycle the modem whenever you change router.. I am guessing you are doing that.. but just to be sure.. at least 15-30min is required with some ISP.. 5min for others.. some are much longer..
The ISP must drop your previously connected equipment to pick up the new one.

  • SOLVED: Dropped connections with Time Capsule and cable modem/router

I've been dealing with random dropped connections for quite a while and I thought that it would be useful to share what I've found.
I was having a very puzzling problem where my internet connection would drop randomly on wireless devices. On my laptop, webpages would suddenly become unresponsive for a minute or two, Mail would have connection problems and complain, etc...but incredibly randomly and definitely not repeatable or in any pattern that I noticed.
I also have 2 Nest thermostats in the house which connect via wi-fi. I noticed that they would randomly show Offline very often when viewed from a webpage or iPhone app, but the Nest front panels showed that they were connected with a strong signal.
As I said, the dropped connections were very sporadic. Most of the time, everything worked, but every once in a while...bam.
I worked with the level 3 tech support guys at Nest for over a week to figure out what was going on. We went through settings on my router and Time Capsule and everything seemed proper and okay. I even replaced the Nests with new ones but still had the same problem. We were all completely stumped.
Yesterday, my laptop dropped it's connection at the same time my wife's laptop dropped hers. At this point, I wondered if something was wrong with the Time Capsule or maybe my internet provider.
I called AppleCare to see if they could help with debugging the problem. They passed me up to a senior wi-fi tech and he asked me many questions about the configuration of my network. My home network looked like this yesterday (see crappy diagram below)
                                                         Motorola Cable modem/router
                                                                                 |
                                                           Netgear multiport switch
                                                          |          |         |         |          |
                                                         hardwired Macs,            TimeCapsule (bridge mode)
                                                         laser printers,                   |   |   |   |   |
                                                          Apple TVs                       laptops, Nest, iphones
This configuration seemed correct to me. The Time Capsule in bridge mode would mean that the cable modem/router would be handling DHCP so all the devices would be on the same network and I could print from a laptop to one of my printers and the laptops could connect to the hardwired Macs, etc..
The AppleCare technician said he thought that bridge mode was the problem. He mentioned that there was a known issue that in this configuration, the IP addresses could get lost between the cable modem/router and the Time Capsule. He said it would be best if the Time Capsule was in DHCP/NAT mode and the first device before the switch, this way the Time Capsule was the only device passing out IP addresses.
So I repatched my network like this:
                                                       Motorola Cable modem/router
                                                                                 |
                                                       TimeCapsule (DHCP/NAT mode)
                                                                |                                       |   |   |   |   |
Netgear multipart switch                      laptops, Nest, iphones
                                             |         |         |        |
                                               hardwired Macs,
                                                 laser printers,
                                                   Apple TVs
I can tell you that in the past 24 hours, I haven't seen anything lose a connection. Not even the Nests which seemed be on and off all the time. And, in this configuration, all the devices are on the same network and able to speak to each other.
    I hope that helps someone.

So you're saying that Bridge Mode not functioning properly is a well known issue?
Not to me.. I have not had issues with the TC in bridge. And it is my prefered setup. I think it is better as a wireless AP and network hard disk than a router any day of the week.. but there are other ways to skin the cat if it is proving unreliable. I am at the moment using a wireless bridge from the Gen4 TC to a Gen4 AE upstairs for TV internet streaming.. it started off very reliable.. but of late I guess I need to reboot it every few days. And it has required a full reset two or three times.. although I probably need to take some of the blame for those. I am not over worried.. i do not believe in wireless bridges except for the most interim of arrangements.. it will be wired in ethernet ASAP.
Wireless should always be used in a way that respects its status as voodoo.. not stable technology. NOT SCIENCE.. it is more a bag of beads and rattles.
Is there a way to change the cable modem/router to avoid the double NAT problem?
The answer to this may depend on your ISP. Did they provide the modem? If so they may lock it down so you have no control. But normally a Motorola cable modem will not have a bridge mode as such but will have a method of turning off NAT.. (and wireless).. this amounts to the same thing.
Once you turn off NAT.. you need to power cycle the modem so the TC gets the public IP in router mode. The power cycle time might be 5min or 20min or overnight.. it again depends on your ISP.. but you need to stop the modem capturing the public IP so it can be passed to the modem.
Depending on where you are in the world.. US is most concentration of cable network.. you can go out and buy your own modem. Pick one on your ISP list and steer clear of SB.. at least with the apple routers they are problematic.
It also can be a case that the cable modem is SB model and therefore more problematic. Sorry I have forgotten the recommendation for what to buy. There are a number of posts here about it but search is terrible now. (or I am too old to figure it out). I will get Bob to poke his nose in and tell you what works for him.

  • Hi, I have a MacBook Pro and a PC both connected to a TC who in turn is connected to a cable modem. I have no wifi accessfrom my MacBook pro (self assigned IP - no internet connection msg) while I do on PC through ethernet? can anyone help?

I was working yesterday afternoon when the wifi suddenly went cold. Initially on the MacBookPro and on the ethernet connected PC. I reinitialized modem and TC  through the mac and then the ethernet on the PC worked again and has since.
I've reinitialized both the modem and TC many times, as well as checked the cables. Moreover, I've tried to renew the DHCP lease, provide the DNS servers manually, erased all networks in Network preferences and in KeyChain etc. but nothing seems to work.
One strange thing also happened. I had two networks created, one for me and one I created for guests. The latter one just vanished, dissapeared without a trace.
I've tried from the café down the street and the Wifi worked perfectly well though a little slow, but that could be their connection not the Airport. Therefore, my  I deduct that there is either something wrong in the TC or something went wrong in the network settings in the Mac. But that doesn't help to move forward and fix the darn thing.
The only thing I haven't done is completely reset the TC, but after reading a couple of help threads on different forums I'm confused as to how to proceed to get it back to worrk? Has anyone had the same or similar issue and found a solution?
    Thanks

Eh la Pastenague! Je savais que tu était léthale pour l'homme mais ce sont pluôt les machines à pommes qui devraient te craindre. Merci! Solved.
    For future reference.
My TC is a 3rd gen.
I actually had to reset to standard defaults not only once but twice. The first time I simply returned to my old profile but that only led to the same message error on the network settings (i.e. IP by default, cannot connect to the internet). Therefore the second time around I kept my profile as backup and re-created a new one plus a guest one.
The airport utility then signaled to issues remaining:
    1) Internet access was cut - this I solved by simply reseting the cable modem
    2) There were no DNS Servers - I simply copied the ones I had from the previous setup and it worked
    I did have AppleCare....
I'm online again and I hope for good.
    Thanks a lot
PS. a small tip - I made captures of all my settings in Network settings, Airport Utility and Network utility using Grab in case of ... if anything it is just handy to get back settings that your are missing when setting up a new configuration

  • I need help setting up a wireless network and getting connected to the internet. I have a RCN cable modem now and tried to install a wireless linksys today and it was a disaster

I have a MAC desktop and RCN cable that I have internet through now. I tried to set up a linksys wireless router today and could not get the network settings right, or figure out how to create the network, or get connected. I was successfull for only a few minutes because my phone and laptop had picked up the signal. However my desktop still would not connect to the internet. I had to restart my cable modem after because even after returning to directly inserting the desktop to the modem I could not get on the internet. I am able to get on now but would like to have wireless for my laptop and phone. Do I have to have an Apple router? Are there any easy steps I can take to set up a network without doing any damage to my desktop? I am so lost and have been getting pop ups and even my time changed.
Please help a new person to Apple!

why dont you go to linksys.com/downloads and get the quick install for your adpter

  • My airport extreme is flashing amber it says i need a ip address .... it was working just fine yesterday until i had to reboot cable modem how do i get my extreme to work again so i can have wireless

my airport extreme is flashing amber it says i need a ip address .... it was working just fine yesterday until i had to reboot cable modem how do i get my extreme to work again so i can have wireless..... please help!!!

    Hi again Jen,
Most internet providers utilize "dhcp" -- you might want to check to see if your extreme is set to that function.
If you want to try, you need to go into airport utility and select MANUAL setup/ then click NETWORK button on top of the window. /select TCP/IP -- make sure that you see "Using DHCP" not MANUAL in the configuration window.  If you do see using  dhcp, click the renew dhcp lease button.  Then you'd have to do the power down/up cycle again.  If all this doesn't work, you can do a hard reset on your Extreme, which will bring it back to the way it came out of the box, then go through the same proccess that was used to set it up originally.

  • HT4262 What do I have to do to my Apple Extreme to switch it from a DSL broadband modem to a cable modem?

What do I have to do to my Apple Extreme to switch it from a DSL broadband modem to a cable modem?

Did you do the factory reset of the AE?? That is necessary. The AE keeps too many values from the last setup to easily move to a new configuration.
The quick method of factory reset.
Please look at Time Capsule (TC) as the same thing as the Extreme.
    Power down the TC.
Hold in reset. and keep holding it in. Be Gentle! It is a tiny surface mount switch with a plastic lever.. Attempting to push it out the other side of the TC will not make the switch turn on better.
(I fix TC and have several reset levers bent over and jammed or broken off).
Power on the TC.. remember with the reset held in.. this needs three arms.. a friend or power switch you can get to with your feet..
Keep holding in reset for about 10sec until the front LED flashes rapidly.
Release reset and wait .. the boot will be slow as it deletes previous setting.. only from router side and pulls out the factory defaults. No files are deleted on the hard disk.. but the name of the TC may change.
The power cycle of the cable modem is very important.. it has to be off completely for 20min and sometimes longer.. overnight. Some battery backup version modems do not go off without removing the battery.. even unscrew the coax cable.
Make sure when you power up the modem only the AE is plugged in. Make sure the AE is set to router mode.. DHCP + NAT.. and is plugged in WAN port to the LAN port of the modem.
If you keep having trouble post again..
We need to know the model of the AE and firmware it is running.
Also what version utility on what OS you are setting it up from.

  • EA4500 Won't get a DHCP WAN address from Cable Modem

I have an EA 4500 that I used to replace a bad WRT45 (or something like that).  We have an ADT camera system that allows you to view the cameras locally and remotely.  All I have to do is set a static internal address on the DVR and the public IP on the router in the application.  I duplicated the setting in the old router and everything was running smoothly.  However, the speed test result I was getting from the router and speedtest.net were not even close to what we were paying for (wireless and wired.  But it was functional.
I called Comcast and they said we needed a Docsis 3 modem.  So, I went to the Comcast office and they traded out my modem for a docsis 3.  Hooked it up and everything was working again.  Speeds were better but not really up to par.  Hooked my laptop directly into the new modem and I was getting speeds off the charts.  Frustrated, I called Comcast, they said the modem needed to be put in Bridge mode. Then the EA4500 wouldn't get a DHCP WAN adress.  They took it out of bridge mode.  Same result.
They sent a tech out (Mind you I've been a Network Engineer for almost 20 yrs) and he tells me they gave me the wrong modem (I wasn't there either, roommate let him in).  He replaced the modem with a new all inclusive router/switch/wifi modem.  He then proceeds to setup a whole new network, which of course , except the laptops that connected, my devices don't see ( printers, cameras, dvr, etc).  Then, this baffles me... he did a factory reset on my EA4500. So now there are 2 seperate networks one with slow Internet and one without WAAN services.
After all this, my EA4500 still will not get a WAN address when plugged into the new modem.  I would just use their new modem but to make any config changesto it, something as simple as changing the SSID name or the password, you have to call them.  They won't give you access to the admin page.
Anyone have any ideas why my EA4500 won't get a WAN address? Oh, btw, I did do a MAC address clone on the EA4500 while connected to the modem and it DID get the address, but the speeds were dismal, not even 1mb up or down.

    @stix180
There is a need to reset and reconfigure the EA4500 router to work with the new modem. There are certain configurations on the router that will make it work for a particular modem, and this might be causing the issue. Cable modem authenticates end users through username and password but there are cable modem/router as well in which the IP address are on the same range with the default IP address of the router. Please try to check the IP address of the computer wired directly to your modem, it should not be on the same IP address range with the EA4500 router since it will cause IP address conflict. You can change the default IP address of your router from 192.168.1.1 to 10.10.10.1. Please try to make sure that your router also has the latest firmware version installed. And it would help if you do port forwarding on the router for your camera and DVRs to resolve NAT issues.

  • Why am I getting 2 IP addresses from the cable modem?

I recently renewed my IP address for my cable modem (by booting into Windows and doing the ipconfig thing). It did this successfully and assigned me a new static IP.
However back in OS X I am now getting two IP addresses depending on whether I connect by ethernet or Airport. When I connect my MacBook straight to the cable modem by ethernet it gives me the new IP address. However when I connect the Airport Extreme Base Station to the cable modem and do all the relevant restarting, it insists I still have the old IP address. This can't be right. Is it an errant preference hanging about in the Base Station? I have tried restoring it to default and setting up from scratch but it persists.
I know the difference between public and distributed addresses... the two I'm talking about are the public kind (e.g. 82.114.223.43 etc)

What do you mean by "old" and "new" IP addresses? What TYPE of IP addresses are you talking about? Specific numbers for example?
In general, the typical cable modem set up should work as follows: your ISP will assign an IP address to your cable modem. This IP address can be permanently fixed (static) or occasionally change (dynamic) - whether you get a static or dynamic IP address depends on your ISP. This IP address is considered your "public" IP address.
What you plug in directly after the cable modem will take on this IP address, since the cable modem merely passes on the IP address info (and serves no routing functions). So, if you plug in your MacBook directly to the modem, your MacBook will take on the IP address that your cable modem passes through, as assigned by your ISP; only your MacBook will have internet access.
On the other hand, if you plug in to the modem a router, such as Airport Extreme Base Station, the router will be assigned the "public" IP address received from the cable modem on its WAN (wide area network) side, i.e. the "side" that interfaces with the public Internet. When your router is set up to SHARE this one public IP address with multiple computers/clients, it has to create a private sub-network, otherwise known as the LAN (local area network). Whether you plug computers in via ethernet to the router, or connect wirelessly to the router (or even both!), your router will create IP addresses for each of its LAN clients so that it can identify everyone. As long as the client has a different hardware MAC address, the router will assign it an unique IP address. (That's why you had 2 IP addresses for your MacBook - one for the ethernet connection, and the other for the Airport connection - each network interface having a different MAC address, and thus receiving a different IP address from the router.)
Your router will always maintain its WAN IP address, as long as your ISP gives you that IP address (via your cable modem). However your MacBook, Windows and other clients may be assigned different LAN IP addresses depending on how you configured your router's DHCP server settings. The LAN clients in the context of your subnet would NOT be assigned the router's public WAN IP address when the router is set up to share that connection.
If you understand the whole WAN v. LAN IP addressing thing, but you're not getting the results you expect, try powering off EVERY single piece of equipment on your network. Wait several minutes so that everything is cleared from the equipments' memory. Then power on and wait until the equipment is in ready state, in this sequence: 1-cable modem..., 2-main router (AEBS)..., 3-remote bases/bridges (if any)..., 4-computers and other client devices.
