If i go to high res (720p or higher) my screen turns green and the video fast forwards to the end.

Hi,
I have windows 7 64 bit and use mozila firefox 15.0.1
I have got the problem that when i select higher resolution in videos (such as on youtube) that at 480p it will run for a while but then just stops even though the buffering is already complete.
If i go to higher resolutions like 720p or 1080p the video will run for a while again but then the screen goes green and the movie fast forwards to the end preventing me to watch movies without problems at higher res.
If u want more information about my problems or know a solution pls tell me.
Manny thanks,
Avalondra.

Could you try temporarily disabling protected mode to see if that makes a difference (instructions towards the bottom of the FAQ linked below)?  I'll circle back with our video team to see if they've made any progress with this issue.

  • [Solved] After watching several youtube html5 720p videos, Firefox (version 33) display or screen turns black and aero transparency in windows 7 turns opaque.

Hello ! I just want to share something familiar with that black display or screen occurs for some people. When I watch youtube videos, I used to watch them in html5 720p videos (not flash videos, https://www.youtube.com/html5 ). I upgraded firefox to version 33. No black display when I used it. Randomly and after watching several html5 videos on youtube, aero transparency in my windows 7 turns opaque and firefox display goes all black. Firefox doesn't respond at any command. I need to kill his process in task manager in order to close it. When I open firefox again, normal display goes. To relaunch aero transparency in windows 7, I need to restart the service whose name is, I think, "Desktop Window Manager Session Manager". I use windows 7 in french and the service name is "Gestionnaire de sessions de Gestionnaire de fenetrage".
To solve this, I upgraded my graphic driver but this didn't work. I tried to put "layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled" to false in "about:config" menu. No random black display but some html elements turned black for some seconds or definitely when firefox rendered web pages. I tried to uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available" in options menu. No random black display but html5 720p videos didn't play smoothly.
Then, I chose to watch youtube 720p videos again with flash player and no random black display and html5 720p videos played normally.
Here are my graphic acceleration infos :

I hope this will be useful to solve this problem in future versions or to someone.

This is happening to me too, I don't know if this is an Adobe Flash Player 11.5's bug or it's just my computer. All my browsers, chrome, IE9, Fox, doesn't even load anime videos. I tried reinstalling 11.5 many times, it have no effect but I use IE9 64-bit to run the videos that couldn't run. I waited 25 min for a JW player to load an episode of anime and I'm sick of it.

  • How do I make a high-res picture SMALLER than full screen?

I'm making a credits sequence for a friend's wedding and I'd like to make the pictures smaller than full screen so I can show text at the same time. Is this something I can do in iMovie, or am I going to have to fight with FinalCutPro? I should mention I have an older version of iMovie. Any tips on how to do this in iMovie or FinalCut would be appreciated!

You can use the Picture in Picture feature. See here for details.
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/imovie_09_stone.html#cutaway%20pip
Another way to do it would be to create your Photo in Photoshop or similar app at the size you need over a background. You can then import the JPEG into iMovie.
You can use the Scrolling Titles in iMovie, but you might also consider using Keynote. In this demo, I created text in Keynote. Then I exported as a QuickTime Movie and then used in in iMovie with a Picture in Picture.

  • Looking for a high-res drawing app for the iPad

I've tried a few of the available iPad drawing apps like Sketchbook Pro and Brushes. It's a little hard to tell, because documentation tends to be short on details, but it appears that most of them (with the exception of Brushes) only let you work and export images at 1024 by 768 resolution. That isn't really high enough resolution for professional work.
Brushes is the only exception I've found. You work on the iPad in Brushes at 1024 by 768, but they have this OS X app that can convert your exported images to a higher res.
To me that's crazy awkward and time-consuming, and I think Brushes is OK as a drawing app, but not necessarily what I'm looking for.
Can anyone give me some better insight into the matter?
Is there some underlying technical reason that all of these apps have a hard limit of 1024 by 768 resolution?
Is there an app other than Brushes that can produce pro-level (high resolution) image files on the iPad?
    Thanks,

  • How can I get iWeb gallery to display high-res images from iPhoto?

    Hi,
I'm trying to add high-res images to an iWeb gallery from iPhoto and cannot get the gallery images to display in high-res (downloaded photos are fine).  iWeb settings for importing unchecked for optimisation. Page in question: http://www.samuelboden.com/Samuel_Boden/Gallery.html
    Any ideas?

Since iWeb has been discontinued by Apple I'm skeptical if you'll get any help on how to hack the application in order to have larger images in the slideshow.  Since MobileMe will be discontinued this June 30 and with it the galleries you might stat looking for an alternative.
One alternative that gives the user considerable latitude in image size and quality is Jalbum.  It offers nearly 100 themes or skins.  This demo page has one theme that lets you change skins on the fly: Jalbum Examples plus a couple of others.

  • Why does Illustrator CS 4 high res pdf ask for linked images?

I have saved high res pdfs (press quality) from Illustrator CS4 directly, and when I sent these pdfs to the printers, they ask me to supply them the linked images, otherwise they could not view the entire file completely. I thought the high res pdf setting would automatically embed images, could anyone please help me?? Our printers are waiting for explaination urgently and the images are very very large to be transferred overseas online. Thank you!!

If you made a PDF which is "print ready" there should be no issue, this is given that the printer informed you as to what "Print Ready" was by their workflow standards. The only time I would need to go back to a client for source files which were embedded into a PDF is if there were color mode issues (RGB image needed to convert to CMYK with certain profile) or if client PDF produced without required bleed. If you have exercised due diligence and the PDF is in fact "Print Ready" the printer may not be used to working with PDF files that are truly print ready. I have sent PDF files to printers who absolutely wanted to open the PDF in Illustrator and have all source/linked files because they were used to getting all end user files, not press ready PDF files. Once I spoke with the Prepress operator and let him know that I went through the PDF and made sure the file was exactly separated as it should print, and he should be able to send it straight to his RIP, then everything was fine.
Prepress people get used to dealing with designers who don't know how to do anything execpt make a moch up of what they want and print it out on their own ink jet printer. The actual file they send to the printer may need to be completely retooled in order to separate correctly for the printing process.

  • Exporting high-res

I am trying to export high res jpegs from lightroom, but when I do and try and upload to make a bigger print (11x14) it says resolution is too low. What settings should I use? The files are raw from the start. Do I have to use tiff files to make them high enough quality for that big if a print?
    Thanks for any help.
    Sarah

Your pixels per inch (ppi) is unnecessary high.
For display on a computer monitor 72 ppi, max 100 ppi is right.
For printing on your printer usually 240 ppi, or 300  ppi is right, unless you have a high-quality printer with a native resolution that is higher then select that resolution.
But besides the ppi you have also to select the size in inches - it's just left of the ppi window.
So for your print of 11 x 14 inch select that size or select 11" for "Short Edge".
You have set your quality to 100. That is fine for a print, but unnecessary high for display on a monitor. For that choose a value between 60 and 80.
BTW this value determines the compression of the jpg, the smaller the quality-number the higher the compression and the smaller the file size.
Now, having said all that, the question remains why do you export your image in order to print it?
Is there a reason that you don't just use the print module?

  • I have a new MBP with high-res display, and the color seems washed out compared to my old MBP.  Is this normal?

Putting the two laptops side by side, blacks on my old machine look dark grey on the new one.  I also have 24" and 27" cinema displays, and the new high res laptop display looks washed out in comparison.
I have tried to recalibrate the screen color settings, but this doesn't seem to make much difference.
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    David.

Yes, the gamma settings are the same on all 4 displays (my two laptops and the two displays).
After a little experimentation, I think that it's down to the brightness of the high resolution display.  It would seem that it is slightly dimmer than the low-res one on my other 15" MBP, so I think that Apple have set the default colour profile to be slightly washed out to compensate.  If I use the same profile on the high-res MBP screen as on the low-res MBP screen, then the colour is much better.
The cinema displays are a lot better than the laptop displays, but I was expecting the new high-res display to be as good as the old low-res one - especially as I paid a lot more money for it!
Ah well!  I think I might take it into the store and just check that it is the norm for this...
    Thanks for your help.

  • High res preview in iondesign cs5

    Hi Guys,
quick question, for some reason when selecting a image in indesign CS5 and ctrl click display performance, high quality nothing happens?
What are the default settings in the prefs so when I am working the graphics are medium res until I specifically ask for high res preview?
High Quality is pushed all the way up but the preview still looks pixelated?
    lister

There are two possibilities here. Perhaps the image is really low res at the size you are using it (waht doe the info panels say for effective resolution?), or maybe you don't have Allow Object Level Display Settings turned on.

  • How Do I Re-Capture at higher res? Help

hi, maybe i misunderstood, but i just finished edited an hour long doc from 24 hrs of footage and i originally put the settings to capture at a lower res to save on file size-JPEG. now i want to re-capture at a higher res. someone told me to use media mgr and check recompress and save a new project using my whole project selected. so i did so, they said it would ask me to insert various tapes to get the footage off of. it is processing now for 4 hrs and has not aksed me to connect the cam or insert tapes.
i did a test of a small section first and it did look better after the recompress but i am confused. is it just reprocessing all the old files? am i wasting my time? should have chosen something other than recompress? yikes!
    thx in advance

1 ) after completing the edit of the sequence, select it in the Project tab
2 ) Go to File>Media Manager. Change the first pulldown menu to 'Create Offline' and the second one to 'DV-NTSC' or whatever you are going to up-rez to.
3 ) Check 'Delete Unused Media From Duplicated Items' If you are smart, you will include handles of at least one second. Uncheck 'Include Affiliate Clips' since we want to avoid recapturing anything that isn't in the sequence besides handles.
Drag the mouse pointer over the green bar at the top of the window and look at the numbers. The green bar shows the full amount of media originally captured with the sequence's clips (untrimmed). Underneath this, where you see 'n/a' dragging around will reveal what should be a much smaller time number representing the trimming of the extra media. Unfortunately, it will be roughly the same number as the green bar above. Sooo...
4 ) Create a new project, and save and name it 'TrashMeDummyProject' This project will be our intermediary project, and we will want to get rid of it (and all its potential capture folders, etc.) when it has outlived its usefulness in the next couple of steps. Wherever you see those folders or files later, you're going to know you can ditch them.
5 ) Go back to the first project tab, grab the sequence and drag it into the new 'TrashMeDummyProject' tab. Make sure that this sequence and tab stay upfront in the next step.
6 ) Now go to File>Media Manager and use the same settings as we used in steps 1 - 2 - 3.
Now this time you will see that the time number in the 'n/a' section is correct for the amount of footage that should be recaptured! At this point, hit OK and follow through with the rest of the Media Manager/Onlining process of selecting the subsequent NEW trimmed sequence and going File>Batch Capture. Remember to set your Capture Presets to your uprez online settings!for the tapes.

  • Can you edit in Low Res then conform to High Res

A producer told me she wanted to edit in Low Res, then do an online to replace the sequence with High Res media.  I haven't done this since I started using Final Cut:  I've edited in High Res all along.
Is it necessary?  And how would it be done?  Many thanks for any knowledge you can share.

ProRes 422 is a mastering codec. It's is a format that you do convert many camera formats into. But it is a full resolution mastering codec. Tutorial?  No...but the manual:
    http://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/usermanual/#chapter=2%26section=2% 26hash=apple_ref:doc:uid:TempBookID-ReplacedWhenAssociatingWithMessierRevision-4 4032FMT-1008869

    https://documentation.apple.com/en/finalcutpro/professionalformatsandworkflows/i ndex.html#chapter=10%26section=3%26tasks=true
How did he deal with all that video? Well, he had HUNDREDS of hours...adding up to 54TB. So he had to work on the project in sections, with 12TB loaded at a time.  It was tricky, but far less tricky than offline/online would have been. Less time consuming too...all the time to convert ALL of that footage to offline resolution, long time.
You're iMac is plenty powerful for ProRes. My 7 year old MacPro could deal with it fine, and your machine is more powerful.

  • How to I get high res thumbnail images?

Just discovered once I've imported images into my library Aperture 3.2.2 (running under 10.7.3) doesn't render high res thumbnail images (when the Browser Thumbnail Resize slider is set to the far right/maximum), even though my "Previews" preference settings are as follows:
"Use embedded JPEG from camera when possible" is unchecked
"Don't Limit" for Photo Preview is selected
Photo Preview quality set to 10
Deleting and regenerating thumbnails doesn't solve the issue. However, if I delete the photo from the referenced library, then reimport the image, the browser thumbnail image renders sharp. The low res thumbnail is at left; high res thumbnail (after re-import) is at right. Both thumbnails images are sharp when the Browser Thumbnail Resize slider is positioned in the middle. Photos render sharp in the Viewer, regardless.
Going back through my images, it seems Aperture stopped providing a sharp thumbnail image since around July 2010. Other than updating Aperture, my workflow or supported camera hasn't changed. Couldn't find a reference to this issue in the User Manual. Am I missing something a setting somewhere?
    Thanks,
    Eric

Its unclear if the command Generate Thumbnails actually does anything if the thumbs already exist and as there isn;t a Delete Thumbnails command like there is a Delete preview command there are only two ways to force a new thumb to be generated.
One is to import the image again and two is to delete the Thumbnail folder in the Aperture library. I don;t know for sure if this will fix you problem but as I said it is the only way to force the generation of the thumbs.
If you try this make sure you have a good working backup of the library. Nothing here will normally cause data loss but it is always a good idea before messing with the library.
Quit Aperture, Highlight the library in the Finder and right click, Select show package contents. One fo the folders you'll see is Thumbnails, delete it. Open Aperture.
Also be aware that the regeneration of the thumbs will take some time. Depending on the size of the library it could be an all day affair. Aperture is usable while this is going on but it will be slower.

  • Is it possible to create a script to produce a high res and low res pdf and jpeg from Indesign at the same time

Hi, I'm just wondering if there is a way to automate a long process I have to do to create assets for my job.
I have a single page InDesign 6 file which I have to output three ways:
A low res pdf without bleed or trims
A high res pdf with bleed and trims
A low res jpeg downsized to 2% of original size.
If anyone knows if this is possible I'd love to hear from you.
    Thanks in advance

Automation requires creating your own IDML script for output. Scroll down on this page to the section on Scripting resources. The text is a bit confusing. It says InDesign CS5 Scripting resources, but then the paragraph for that section says the PDF files are for CS6. I haven't read through these, I just found them by searching for "indesign automation". It does say in part that is can be used for preparing files for printing, so once you figure it out, it should be a single click option to do all three steps.
You can do them now with the menus you have, assuming you also have Acrobat Pro installed. With any document open, choose File > Adobe PDF Presets, and choose either from the prebuilt defaults, or create your own in the Distiller. However, I don't see a way in the Distiller settings to choose whether or not to include bleed and marks, so I'm not really sure how you'd have them on for one and not the other. As far as JPEG output, that can be chosen under Export. You get a choice to set a resolution and JPEG quality level, but not a size, so the output will be the dimensions of the document.

  • How can I create a high res image gallery, need to have print res photos for a pressroom section.

How can I create a high res image gallery, need to have print res photos for a pressroom section.

If you want Muse to "pass through" your images and not adjust, compress, crop etc - you need to place your images in the lightbox EXACTLY at the right size, pre-cropped and prepped in Photoshop.
So if your light box is 800x600 the image you're dropping into that must be 800x600 exactly with no effects, rotation etc added to the lightbox frame. This stop Muse fiddling with your images, if they are perfect when inserted and you're not asking Muse to crop, expand, add effects etc. If it's perfect when inserted, Muse SHOULD also leave the resolution alone too, but I have not tried that one, but in theory, it should work.

  • Is there a way to publish a high-res .ipa from Flash CS5.5 with AIR for iOS?

    Hello,
I've developed an app for iOS in Flash specifically for iPad 3's. My client uses SOTI MobiControl as it's mobile device management solution. If I publish out of Flash using AIR SDK 3.1 or newer the app is created and looks high-res on the iPad3. When they try to add the app to SOTI for in-house distribution it errors with the error claiming that "CFBundleDisplayName" has been left blank.
After having looked into it I've been able to find out that when publishing with versions of the AIR SDK older than 3.0, the info.plist file within the app package includes a CFBundleDisplayName. In versions newer than 3.0 there is no CFBundleDisplayName in the info.plist.
Is there a way to publish for iOS from Flash utilizing an older version of the AIR SDK and having true high-res graphics that will look proper on an iPad3?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Phil

It's not AIR that's lacking the key in the plist, it must be Flash Pro, although it's just running adt itself. I use AIR 3.4 and I compile via adt command line (because Flash Builder 4.6 still has not been updated to handle warnings from ANEs during compile, grr). I have CFBundleDisplayName in my plist file. Have you tried compiling on the command line?
Here's an Adobe page with a bunch of examples compiling with ADT on the command line:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/air/build/WS901d38e593cd1bac1e63e3d128cdca935b-8000.html
Being unaware of what in-house distribution system that actually is, I have noted that some people had previous issues submitting apps Flash compiles. Their solution was to rename the AppName.ipa to AppName.zip, extract the Payload folder, copy the AppName.app inside there out, then rename that AppName.app to AppName.ipa. Then it was accepted. Not sure if that old issue still exists.
