They should replace the whole device, not just the screen. If they have it in stock, you will walk out with in in minutes. If you are not under warranty there is a charge.

If you don't have the Apple ID and password, how did you get Mountain Liomn in the first place? Without the Apple ID and password, you'll need to buy it to download it.

For each mail account, along with designating a primary SMTP server, you should be able to just turn off any and all other SMTP servers you have listed. In that case, if there is a problem with comcast, the message send should just fail.
Also make sure your comcast smtp settings are correct (port, likely 587 but might be something else for comcast, whether you should be suing SSL or not, do you need authentication or not).

with the charger that came in the box it can take 10 hours depending how depleted the battery is. touch the battery icon and a drop down window will open that shows percentage of charge. use only the original charger or optional rapid charger. a little lightning bolt symbol across the battery indicates that it's charging.

I'm getting my "new" iPad on Friday. I'm replacing my "original" iPad (1). Since I preordered and will be receiving my iPad directly I will not be picking it up from the Apple store, so no set up from them. Can someone walk me thru what I must to do get my new iPad up and running. I want to transfer my info, apps, etc. to my new iPad but I also want to pass on my old one to a family member who uses the same computer. How shall I proceed? Thanks!
If you want everything that's on your current iPad onto the new one, then you can first copy all purchases off the iPad to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. You can then backup your current iPad and restore the new iPad from that backup (a list of what is included in a backup is in this article - it excludes music, videos, synced photos). As the backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their settings and content, for the restore to work completely you'll need all the relevant apps in your computer's iTunes library - otherwise the restore won't be able to install the apps and therefore their content (which is one reason to do File > Transfer Purchases, if that doesn't copy them over then you can re-download them for free : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519).
The restore won't copy passwords onto a different device, so you will need to re-enter your email, router, and any website passwords onto the new iPad.
Depending on what you want to remain on the iPad, you can then either leave it as it is or log out of your account on it (tap on it in Settings > Store) and then wipe it via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings. -

The Apple Store will offer to recycle it for free, you are better off selling it on ebay or elsewhere, I have seen decent looking ones go from $80-$250 here in Australia.

Is it true that the Apple store will unlock any IPAD without checking?
I left my IPAD on a plane. It was password locked. It was never returned.
I bought a replacement, but was still worried about my data. Used find my IPAD, but it has never shown up.
When buying my replacement the guy at the Apple store told me that if someone brings in a locked IPAD, they will unlock it for them with no questions asked. Is this true? Seems like they could at least see if serial number is registered to the person that brought it in before unlocking.Apple does not get involved in theft situations. Whether they will unlock an iPad I don't know, but my guess would be no. A locked iPad needs to restored in iTunes and it seems unlikely Apple would do that for someone. But, we're just users here, so call Apple and ask them.

I have an Excursion and it has the red,yellow,and white aux outlet and I went to the Apple store and bought the composite AV cable plugged it in and the audio works but the video does not and the manual says that I have to tell the ipad to send the video to the t.v.,projector but I can not find where that function on the ipad. How do I change the appleID for the apple store icon on my IPad?
I have recently retired and my IPad that I used with my school email is now my private IPad. I no longer have my school email, and had to change my primary email address to my private one. I have changed my AppleID to use my private email, was able to change my FaceTime to the private email, but cannot find the setting to change the apple store setting to the private email on my IPad. To top it off, I still have a credit amount on my Apple store account I don't want to lose. I had assumed when I changed my Primary appleID it would change it for the app store. It didn't. Help!
If you have a credit for the app store, it will be associated with the old email address unless you merely changed the email address associated with the Apple ID. If you created a new Apple ID that's a different story. It can get quite confusing at times. But first things first.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. You can sign out of the old ID there and sign in with the new one.
You can do the same thing in the App Store and in iTunes when in the featured or main page of each app. Your ID is located in the bottom left corner of the screen. You can tap the ID that is showing and sign out of the old ID there and sign in with the new one. -
I added compressor form the apple store but Quicktime qill not play video files tha tthe compressor description says it will play. Suggestions?
I've deleted all the .wma files. I used "Switch" to convert all my music to .aac. When I first bought the macbook I'm using, I hooked up my external backup disc and copied all my music to the macbook. All the music was ripped over the years in .wma format. So I have a folder named "music". Under that folder, I have a folder named "CDs". Under the "CDs" folder I have all teh folders for each artist of the CDs I ripped, and then under teh artists' folder are teh album folders. I think it is represented like this (example for my dropkick murphys cds): music>cds>dropkick murphys>going out in style.
So I first drag and dropped the entire "CDs" folder.....nothing
Then I draged the album folder.....nothing
Then I dragged and dropped the individual .aac song......nothing

Will the iPad still synch with my home computerYou will be ok if you do this. When you get home with the iPad - do not sync until you transfer purchases if you download apps and music on the iPad before you get home and sync to your computer.
Launch iTunes on your computer and go the menu at the top - iTunes>Preferences>Devices> and check the box at the bottom of the window that says Prevent iPods, iPhones, iPads from syncing automatically. Then quit iTunes.
Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes if it does not open on its own. Right click on the iPad name or music that you downloaded into your iTunes library. While you are still in iTunes you can then select the music, photos or whatever other content that you want to put on the iPad in all of the different tabs in the iTunes window at the top. Make sure you check the appropriate headings in the various tabs - such as "Sync Music" - then select the playlists or albums that you want to sync and then you can sync. -

You are paying for a refurbished unit which is supposed to be same as the one you have. It won't hurt to ask about the change in color, but that would be entirely at the description of the Apple rep, so ask nicely.

It is hard to say. If the part isn't in short supply it shouldn't take more than a day or two to ship. A 3-4 turn around isn't uncommon.
