If I had an app from another account on my device, deleted it and then downloaded it again on my account, would my saves be intact?

Here's the deal: when I first got my iPod Touch, my best friend sent me some of his purchased games so I can play them on my device. I recently had to do a restore to my device and said games have been wiped off. Now, I do have them backed up on a DVD somewhere, but I don't want to go through the trouble of finding it now. So, my question is: If I download/purchase those games again, would my save files and progress be saved in my GameCenter ID or not?

Only if the game status is maintained on a server. Most Game Center games are that way.

After installing office, i went into the app store, only to find that i have new updates. so when i went to the updates tab. i found angry birds. but i didnt bought angry birds and when i tried to update it, it is from another account. how can this happen?

First thing you need to answer, is if you got this mac new or not!
If you got it from a previous owner, and he did not clean it for you, then it's normal that there is stuff on it already.
If you got it as brand new, then you should have had to create a user account the first time you turned it on.
If there was already a user account on it, then it's not new and you should return it and ask for a real new unit.

The App Store app is a built-in app, it can't be deleted.
What have you tried to fix it ? If you haven't already done so then you could try the following :
- log out of your account (tap on it in Settings > iTunes & App Store) and then log back in
- close the App Store app via the iPad's multitasking bar and see if it works when you re-open it : double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag the App Store app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.

I had no problem in downloading a free app after updating to IOS5. I thought everything was o.k. but when I tried to launch an app, it just blinked and nothing happens. Did you try syncing with iTunes again since you update the software? You could try that first. connect the iPad to your computer and sync again - not WiFi sync - traditional, old fashioned sync. You will have to turn off WiFi sync in iTunes and then hit the apply button.
Or you could try these basic troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

As I said, the backup that iTunes makes does not include apps (and music) if those items where not in the iTunes library on the computer on which you restored they will not be on the iPod.

What you would do is on computer authorize other account for that computer. So you computer is authorized to play both accounts. Then you can sync apps from both accounts to your phone using the same computer as before.
My wife and I both have our own accounts and each of our instances of iTunes have authorized each others accounts for that computer. So I can sync her apps and she can sync mine. Just becomes a pain when you update an app via the cell phone when updates come out as trying to do all at once usually fails if the apps for updating are for each account. So have to do one at a time or just have them update via iTunes and sync.

I have always been very weary of fake emails and can easily spot the ones that get through the spam filters but for the first time in my 25 plus years memory of using email, I though a fake email was genuine.
Ok, granted the email was supposedly from Apple so there's an implied level of trust there and I had updated my Apple ID details hours before, but it was only after doing a double take at the url link in the email I realised it was fake. It was pointing to an IP address (http://104.145.233.95/..etc) and not the usual https://www.apple.com/..etc.
I just wandered how may Apple users, especially new ones would have unwittingly compromised their Apple ID details by this scam. I would love to see Apple doing more to make its users aware of scams directed at them.

Hey, I have 2 accounts on iTunes one for free stuff and another for purchasing. Recently i downloaded Dragonvale on the free account, and i want to make an in game purchase with my other account. But it wont let me, is it possible to transfer the app from my free account to my paying account. I do not want to lose my saved data. (took me ages to get to were i am).
If this is possible, can someone please instruct as too how to do this.

What happens, when you download Dragonvale with your paying account?
Or does it just say: "already installed"?
In that case you can try to backup your device, delete the App and then download it from your paying account.
If your saved data is still there, averything is fine and you have "transfered" the free App.
If your saved data is gone, you can at least do a restore of your device.
