If I have a long list of music I want to burn to CDs, do I have to separate the songs into smaller lists or will it only burn what it has room for?

I have a lot of music that I would like to burn onto CDs. I read on the website that the music must be in a playlist to burn to a CD. I'm just wondering if I have to determine how much the CDs I'm using can hold and make playlists that way or if once I hit burn on a long playlist it will automatically stop once the CD is full.
Thanks

Becca,
Will you be burning Audio CDs, the kind that work in a normal CD player?
If so, note that iTunes supposedly has the ability to split a long playlist across multiple CDs.  However, in practice that capability does not work reliably, and often leads to wasted time and discs.
Instead, create separate shorter playlists, each comfortably under 80 minutes of play time.  Then burn them one at a time.
Alternatively, if your player is capable of playing MP3 CDs, you can burn a single MP3 CD with several hours of music on one disc.
