If I have a saved password, and then I enter the wrong password on a website login, does Firefox keep the old password stored, or does it overwrite it?

I am trying to find a password that I changed yesteday. I forgot what it was, and today I entered the incorrect password, and now I can't get logged in. When I look at the password manager, it is showing what I believe is the incorrect password. Is there a way to get it to show what the password was? It is showing that I changed the password yesterday.

Let me see if I can help.
*Click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]], click "Preferences" (the gear icon).
* Select the "Security", and click the "Saved Passwords" box.
* If you select the "Show Passwords" box in the lower right corner, it will show you the saved password.
If it is the incorrect password, select the entry and select "Remove".

when it askes to to make ur password just put ur old one back in but replace some letters with caps and numbers

Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Your email account name>Delete Account. A window will popu after you select your email account in the settings and there is a large red Delete Button at the bottom of the window.
Settings>Mail, contacts, calendars>Add account. Tap on Add account and start entering your email account details again. If your email account doesn't fit one the per installed accounts in there, tap on Other - and add your account in there.
I would restart the iPad after you delete the email account, just to be starting "fresh" again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button

Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select Change Settings for Keychain "login". In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.

iChat (it would help to know which version) can accept Apple IDs as valid AIM Screen Names.
However if you have iChat 5 or earlier you cannot use ones ending in @me.com or @icloud.com issued by iCloud. (they can be used in iChat 6 or Messages as these versions make a double login to AIM and Apple to allow the use of the password).
In addition if you are using an Apple ID for an AIM Screen Name the password still needs to keep to the 16 character limit that AIM has.
AN @mac.com name can be used on any version of iChat (Until the 30th June 2014)
As it does not need a double check with Apple you can use it to log in to the AIM Web pages
Login here with an AIM Name registered at AIM or and @mac.com name and see if you get any suspended account messages.
Sometimes account can be suspended. Usually because something has triggered the "Unusual Activity" item.
About a year ago many @mac.com users that travelled out of their own country found themselves suspended when they got home.
If the Name checks out of if an Apple ID the password in known to be 16 characters or Less then do this:-
In Lion upwards open a Finder Window and use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears in the menu list.
Navigate to Preferences.
(If you have version earlier than Lion the just navigate to ~/Library/Preferences (that's the Library in you Home - Little House icon - folder)
Fnd com.apple.ichat.aim.plist (even if you are using Messages)
Drag the file to the Trash and Restart the app.

That means that the password you entered for your Apple ID was incorrect. This is the Activation Lock feature of the iPhone in action. Only the rightful owner, who knows the password for their Apple ID, can activate it. If you don't remember your Apple ID password you will have to reset it. Visit https://appleid.apple.com.

HT4623 After installing IOS 6.1.3 I am now unable to install any app. I hit the "install" it asks me for my password and then is goes back to install.

After install iOS 6.1.3 everytime I attempt to install any app, I hit "install", it aks me for my password and then clocks for a couple of secs and then goes back to "install" without installing.

Have you tried a soft reset? Hold down the home and lock buttons until you see the apple icon appaer then let go. If this doesnt work, open iTunes, conect the handset to the computer and do a full restore.

I am having similar problems with iPad 3 freezing. It was fine before upgrade to IOS 8. Ready to throw it out!! No one has any answers other than the norm. Quite often have to hold power and home key down, which doesn't solve the problem. It just unfreezes the situation you are in. Wish this would be solved with the IOS 8!! Should have never upgraded, but never had a problem with Apple software before. Getting to feel like I am back with Windows.

That's not very intuitive
Check your mail server setup (mail>preferences>accounts>) choose your MobileMe account and select Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) dropdown box, select Edit SMTP server list, verify that each instance of the me server has a password, if there are more than one and you only have one account then delete the one without a password.

I have removed myself from the administrator group and would like to use the "run as" feature only when it is strictly required.
Unfortunately it looks like it is not possible to use the Runas feature, if you are not member of the administrator group, as the prompt that appears shows the following message:
""to continue, type an administrator password, and then click yes" but you have no text field available to enter the required password ... am I missing something or is this a required behavior?

How to fix UAC can't enter password, UAC type an admin password bar missing or do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer? yes disabled on your admin account problem.
First you need to create a backup on everything in your library to your hard drive by cut&past option.
First restart your PC and tap F8.
Now you have to run on safe mode and then start menue> type> CMD> click or enter.
Now you have to type in CMD: NET USER ADMINISTRATOR /ACTIVE:YES
NOw restart you PC and login as the built-in Administrator account
Delete the account you have created, first download IObit UNLOCKER @ IObit.com and delete it with IObit unlocker,
Now you have deleted your account you must create a new account and log off your built-in Administrator account.
Now you have to go to your new account and Open CMD now type it again as NET USER ADMINISTRATOR /ACTIVE:NO
you are done.

I downloaded an application (a free version of a comercial software called Gauss) wich is a dmg file,
when I installed the application everything seems to run great, but when I start the Gauss Light.app file it request the password and then, after I write the password, it closes.
So, I started the application with terminal getting into the app file, and I can start it using sudo, but without sudo it gives me this error :
macbook-de-victor-rocco:MacOS vittorio$ ./GAUSS\ Light
sysctl: kern.tfp.policy: Invalid argument

after I put the correct password....

Welcome to the Apple boards:
The latest version of Gauss I see is 6.0 which was released in 2005. Unless you have a newer version, I suspect it's simply not Leopard compatible.
