Back it up in iTunes! Just make a backup of the entire device but make sure you check sync contacts and the option to add contacts from phone to address book on computer.

I can not forward calls. I go to call forwarding, turn it on, copy and paste my phone number into the correct field (including the international dialling code).
I then tap the Call Forwarding button, which takes me back one stage and the Call Forwarding button goes to off after a couple of seconds. Anyone who can help?

Yes, a blocked call will go immediately to your voice mail.
If you would rather not have that behavior, ask your cellular carrier if you can block that person through the carrier.

Online Numbers can only be on one Skype account, but you could configure the Call Forwarding settings on that account to forward calls to other Skype account names if nobody answers the call on the account with the Online Number. The call forwarding would ring any account name or telephone number listed simultaneously, and connect the forwarded call to the first account or number that answers the forwarded call. Note that forwarding to telephone numbers (except for certain toll-free numbers) would require Skype Credit or a subscription to cover the costs of forwarding calls to telephone numbers.

Brand new here and thought I had all the info I needed to set up for Skype calls. Unbeknownst to me, in Canada we can not get Skye numbers! So my question is, can I receive calls on my Kobo Arc tablet through Skype? Or am I imprisoned by the Canadian telecommunication Nazis to pay a gazzillion dollars a month for a landline...

What is my Skype number for freinds to call?

Hi there,
I have bought some skype credits for unlimited calling but the number that shows up when i call someone starts with 000 so when someone tries to call that number back to talk to me it takes them straight to and operator since it starts with 0.
I was curious what my actuall number is so that people can call me back also. I looked into getting a skype number but i can get one in the US but i live in Canada so that is fairly useless.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Trish's instruction works for me on Windows using FireFox. Perhaps a few screen shots may help: On your main account page, click on the Skype Number box.
Then, you should land here (I have redacted my personal details):
Clicking on the <- arrow inside the pale blue circle will take you back to your main account page.

Skype Number enables you to receive calls on your Skype account and the caller will be charged local rates.
To receive calls to your Skype Number, you should be online on your Skype application, or you can enable call forwarding and voice messaging. And also, please make sure that you are signed in to only one device.
Please make sure that you have set up your Privacy Settings to "Received calls from anyone."
Sign in to Skype.
Tap the menu icon .
Select Settings.
Go to Receive calls from option.

They switched me to Skype Premuim, can't make call...

OK, here goes.
I've had a Skype Unlimited World subscription for several years, a recurring $9.99/monthly payment. About a week ago I tried to make a call on my mobile and got the message saying 'Skype Premuim doesn't allow calls to phones, that I would need to buy Skype credit', etc....
Hmmm...what the heck is going on?
i checked my emails to see if a late May 'Your purchase has been delivered' mail had come in, and no, it hadn't. Hmmm...more wondering about what's going on. I did not receive any messages informing me of changes to my subscription, changes to Skype or changes to Skype Premium. i went to my account page at Skype to see that Skype Premium was active, but that $0.00 had been charged in late May. Hmmm....what's up with that?
I did read the 'Skype Premium' is changing, group video calls are free', whatever, but it still was not clear about being able make calls to phones, and that's all I've ever needed of Skype for the past couple years. i want to continue having what I had. And I have no interest in group videos call anyway.
What to do? There is no one to call and talk with, but I did have a 'chat session' with a support rep (automated?) who was not able to quite understand my concerns. it ended with the chat rep telling me I'd have Skype Premuim for free until next January. I did tell the chat rep that I just wanted to be able to make calls, that group video was of no interest to me, and she (chat rep had a female name) told me everything was fine, that i would be able to make calls as I had been doing for a few years now.
OK, I'm back on, right? At least that's what my thinking was. So yesterday i tried to make calls, and much to my dismay, there was the same message...'Skype Premuim doesn't allow calls to phones, you will need to buy Skype credit'....AARGH.
So that's it? You can not make calls to phones with Skype Premuim? Or you can, but Skype is having issued sorting it out? Would someone here be able to clarify?
I don't see any use for me of a Skype Premium account if I can't make calls to phones.
I see the world subscription is now $13.99 a month. I would have just preferred they tell me the subscription price was increasing, instead of having to go through this whole mess to find out things have changed. Certainly they should send messages to inform customers that changes have been made instead of having to dig around and find out on their own.

Skype number in China dropping calls like no one's...

Anyone else having the same problem? I've used a Skype number in China for years, while's it's never been perfect it has been functional until the last 4 days. I drop calls using the Skype number ever 3-4 minutes. China-to-China calls not using Skype are fine, so I am assuming Skype and China are struggling to work together. Advice?

Hi, I have bought a unlimited subscription that is supposed to cover the UK, USA and canada, on landlines and mobiles however i can't call ANY mobiles within the UK i can only call Mobiles of people that aren't within the UK I would like this resolved ASAP or I will expect a full refund...also you should have a contact number for people to call with problems as having to post on here then wait for a response is a waste of customer time and money

also I should add that I can get through to my daughter in connecticut but not through to my other daughter in florida nor my grandsons at university

When I updated my subscription to skype the other day, I wanted to make sure it was running again so I called my own iphone using Skype. But when my iphone rang it displayed a totally different number that was calling: 661-748-0240; it didn't display my skype number.
Now I'm reading that this is a phishing/scam number; apparently it's already infected my skype account. Can anyone help me get rid of it? I DON'T want anyone to think I'm a scammer...

This is a generic caller ID assigned by local telephone companies when caller ID data is either not received or is corrupted in transmission - or the Skype account has no caller ID set. It is not an infection or malware. Skype cannot control caller ID data as it is received by the fixed line or wireless carrier when calls jump from the internet.
A search of this Community by typing that telephone number in the search box at the top of this page will quickly show this is a popular topic!

Depends what Buddy List type and what app the Buddy maybe using.
It looks like an AIM based list as Alex is Mobile (All calls are being forwarded to his/her cell/Mobilephone)
The blanked out person does not appears to have a camera or Mic.
At your end check the following:-
Video Menu (Or whatever is to the right of the Buddies menu - if the camera is Off it tends to Read Audio)
This should have Video and Audio Chats Enabled.
In the View Menu the Show Video and Show Audio Status items need to be Enabled (ticked) as this will show the Video or Audio icons (the green indicators).
