If I have no service is my iPhone unlocked?

So I have an old iPhone 4 that was with AT&T but I changed to T tomblie && got a new phone
But I don't like it so I was wondering since my iPhone has no service is it unlocked? && can I use it for t mobile?

It is not automatically unlocked just because your AT&T contract is over.
AT&T does offer unlocking now. You must be a current or former customer in good standing who was either completed your contract or paid the early termination fee. Or you must provide proof of purchase for a no-commitment iPhone from Apple or AT&T.
Call AT&T and see if it qualifies to be unlocked.

  • I  have no service on my iphone 3gs. Is there a fix for this problem.

I have no service  or no 3G Network on my iphone 3GS. Is there a fix from Apple for this problem.

Sometimes this happens to me, I know I am old school as well with an iPhone 3g hey what can I say I got a great deal on it. If I do a reboot, hold the power button and home button down for 10 seconds, and then hold the power button down until the apple logo appears it usually fixes this issue.

  • I no longer have cell service on my iPhone 4

1 day after the upgrade to 4.3.3 my cell service no longer works. It doesn't work in my home (wifi does) where service is normally excellent, and it no longer works anywhere. I have tried restarting and resetting it, switching airport mode on and off...which yesterday worked temporarily but not after I lost service again soon after. I contacted my service provider to see it there was a problem with the service....nothing seems to help. My phone seemed to work fine for 1 day after the upgrade but not the next day. I didn't do anything unusual that I normally wouldn't do. Any ideas while I await the tech people of my service provider to contact me?

Thank you wjosten, I have cell service back now! I backed everything up and went thru the restore process. I got cell service back so thought I would try loading my stuff back to see if it would work. So far, it seems to work tho the 2 texts I received after I restored and before I reloaded my data have disappeared but at least I have service back. I will continue to monitor for abnormalities and consider having it serviced. Thank you so much!!

What is "everything"? Does everything include contact your carrier and making sure your account is properly set up? Turn Airplane mode OFF, not on.

    Hello AshokPandey,
I understand how important it is to have cellular service on your iPhone, especially on a business trip.  I found an article with steps to take if you are seeing "No Service" on your iPhone.  I recommend following the steps in this article to resolve that error message:

  • I have no service

    I have ,, no service,, om my iphone 5 . I can,t use it.

YOu can also try doing a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
If that doesn't help, then do as suggested by TJ.

it seems there are a lots of people with the same issue. i checked bunch of forum websites and people are talking about bunch of stuff it needs to be done but it seems complicated.
does anybody have some kind of solution
    thanks

Now-a-days it is a common problem for iPhone users but without any proper solution.I had the same problem about a month ago.And one of my friend suggested me to do the following steps..
    * Go to Settings:General:Reset.
    * Click Reset Network Settings
    * Enter your passcode if you have created one.
    * Click the red button: Reset Network Settings
The iPhone will take a minute to shut down, then it will reboot.Hope that your phone will come back in full service.

  • Anybody Heard of Trusted-iphone-Unlocker?

I have six iPhones sitting in front of me and I don't know what they are (as in 5 - 4s - 4 etc.) All I know is that two of them were imported into Australia a year before they were offically available here so my son and his man could be ahead of the crowd..........That's why I have six of them! They continue to stay ahead of the crowd!!! Now I'm very happy to accept their left-overs, but none of the phones will work with my sim cards and they can't remember what the story is with these old phones. I am guessing that they are locked, because they all charge up and turn on ok, though two of them start with an iTunes logo and a white plug on the screen...............I have found this site, "Trusted iPhone Unlocker" which makes big claims, but ****, with a name like that I find them very hard to trust!.
Can anyone here help with the rep of this site please. Oh and while I'm here, could you tell me where I look to find which model each phone is.
    Many pre-fixed thanks

You can look up details of the phones here http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-lookup/?search_keywords=A1387
go to settings/general/about to get model and serial numbers.
Only the carriers to which the phones are locked can unlock them.  You need to contact the carrier to see if they can offer unlocking.  Trusted iphone unlockers will just hack the phones to unlock them

  • How does the gps on my iPhone 4S know we're I am if I have no service, it's in airplane mode, and wifi is turned off ?

Let me just say that I didn't get the answer I wanted from contacting apple care and the customer service rep was very rude and gave me what seemed like a short answer just to get me off the line. So here I am hoping that someone can give me a straight answer.
I have an iPhone 4S and I have not had cellular service associated with it for over a year now. It's basically acting as an iPod touch right now.
Yesterday I took a car trip to Boston with my wife and I was playing around with google maps. I had loaded our destination prior to leaving our home so the route information was still loaded. I have my 4s on airplane mode all the time so constantly searching for a signal wouldn't drain my battery. I turn wifi off when I'm not in a hotspot for the same reason as well. So as I was looking at our route info I noticed that the little node that indicates your position was moving along with our corresponding location almost as accurate as any other gps. This concerns me because
1- I have no service on this phone
    2- airplane mode is enabled
    3- wifi is disabled
Now the even weirder thing is that my son has a nexus tablet. Just strictly wifi. We pulled into a rest stop and conveniently it had free wifi. So I loaded our route info onto his Google device. When we got back on the road I turned wifi off on his tablet and SHOCKER the node was moving along with our position.
I want to know why my iPhone 4S running on iOS 7.0.4 is receiving gps data when all of the supporting features are turned off. As an added concern I would like to know why my sons wifi-only tablet is receiving gps data as well.
What is apple doing with its devices or what is google doing to their devices and/or application software.
Thank you to whoever helps me out with this.

Because GPS has nothing to do with WiFi, cellular signals, or data of any sort. GPS is implemented by signals sent by satellites that are received by GPS receivers. The receivers process the information from the GPS satellites and calculate your location. GPS never sends data anywhere; GPS functionality is receive only.
If you have WiFi or cellular data turned on this can improve the accuracy of GPS, because the GPS receiver can then use the known location of cell towers and WiFi networks to refine the GPS location. GPS by itself has an accuracy of 10 meters, or about 34 feet. Using the additional information from WiFi and cellular data this can be brought down to 3 meters (10 feet). This mode is called Augmented GPS, or A-GPS.

Not a good sign. Try forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it. If this fails, make an appointment at an Apple store:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

PLEASE HELP ME, WHAT CAN I DO??? In Argentina is too expensive an iPhone 4S. Please I need help to continue believing in Apple. Thanks a lot. If anybody speak spanish better.

Was it purchased from an official Apple Store, not a reseller?  Only Apple Stores sell official factory unlocked phones.  The others sell hacked to unlock phones, and the unlocking is unstable.
    Try these steps, as needed:
    1. Reset phone - press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
    2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    3. Replace SIM card (and reset network settings again)
    4. Restore Phone in iTunes using a backup
    5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup

Just a thought, but maybe consider returning the device.  Seems it might be a bit too complicated for you.
