If i have x 2 apple tvs can i watch a different film in each room.

If i have an apply tv in Lounge and 1 in bedroom am i able to watch a different movie on each?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Yes indeed assuming your network is up to it.
You can also watch gthe same movie in different rooms too, but you'd start them seperately so they wouldn't be in sync.

i want to set up a trade show booth with apple tvs and a mac mini. how many apple tvs can i run off a mac mini? i want to run different slideshows.

Pretty sure that one device (the mini) will only be able to interact with one Apple TV.  At best you might be abel to connect to multiple ATVs but they would all run the same content. (and I have my doubts about that)
You can use the mini and multiple Apple TV's to watch different content, indeed you can only watch different content although you can listen to the same content. For the avoidance of doubt different includes the same content but not in sync.

  • In Apple Configurator, can I set up different sets of iPads with different apps loaded? Or will all iPads synced with Configurator be required to have the same build?

    Hi jshira86,
You can definitely have different sets of iPads with different apps loaded. When you "supervise" your iPads, you will see that on the left side of the Configurator window there is a "+" sign in the lower left corner. Click it to create a new device group. With this new device group you can choose what apps and configuration profiles you want to install on that group of iPads. Create as many groups as you want to customize the apps and profiles you want on them.
    Hope this answers your question!

  • I have the iPhone and my own Apple ID. I would like the iPad to have my husbands Apple ID so we are able to communicate with each other (he is deaf). How can FaceTime and iMessage be set up to do this?

Log into each device with your own Apple ID's in Settings > iCloud.
Then, so you can share preiously purchased apps, log into both devices using the Apple ID used to make those purchases, but ONLY in Settings > iTunes and Apps Stores.
Verify that each device uses your own Apple IDs in Settings > Facetime and Settings > Messages.

  • I have new IPad ...can't watch rented downloaded movie on my tv..error message is " The connected display is not authorized to play protected movies"... What is up with that???

I have new IPad ...can't watch rented downloaded movie on my tv..error message is " The connected display is not authorized to play protected movies"... What is up with that???

I had exact same problem and I have found a way to get round out!!!! Easy!
So the reason it doesn't allow it to play is for security to stop piracy etc.
Plug in the cable and VGA and aux cable and get everything set up so you are looking at the home screen.
    1) select Videos
    2) selected the film you want to watch
    3) click the little play button
    4) it will then come up with the message saying it can't play protected films blah blah blah
    5) WITHOUT clicking ok double tap the home button to bring up the multitasking bar and swipe left to reveal the control panel
    6) hold fast forward for a second or two and the movie with continue to play!
Stay in the multi tasking bar with the control panel, The message will stay there but don't worry. Kick back and enjoy your iPad movie on the big screen:)
I'm sure your saying thanks:) it was my pleasure realising I've outsmarted apples little security protection thing lol

  • How many Apple TVs can you have on one iTunes account?

Just wondering how many Apple Tvs I can put on my iTunes account.  Already have one in the living room and I was looking to put one more in the bedroom.

    That would be fine.

  • How many apple TVs can you have on one network 5, 10, 15, infinite?

I have an application where there are many rooms and I would like to be able to use Airplay in each room, can I buy 10 or more Apple TV units and put them all over my house on my wireless network and be able to airplay to any one of them? What is the limit of Apple TVs that I can have in one area. Has anyone tried this? How many have you maxed out at? What is the limitation?

There is no specified limitation but you will encounter a practical one. It will be a function of the numerous and generally unpredictable variables that affect any wireless network.
Ten Apple TVs is certainly within the realm of possibility though. This post reports success with fifteen of them.

  • How many different Apple TVs can I share one iTunes Store account with?

I currently have one AppleTV at my home, and one at my mothers home. We both share the same iTunes Store account, therefore we share the movies that each other purchase. I am interested in getting my father and my aunt and Apple TV as well, I want them to also be able to use my iTunes Store account. That way, if say my father and I both want to watch the same movie, we can split the cost.
I also currently own an iPhone, and an iPad. I'm going to be getting my mother and father iPads as well. I want them to be able to use my iTunes Store account on those devices as well, and be able to stream movies on them.
I know it says that your iTunes Store account can only be associated with 10 devices, but I'm wondering where Apple TVs fit into that stance. It's probably a stupid question, but I was just curious if the fact that it is iCloud changes anything.
Essentially, I'm wondering if four Apple TVs, three iPads, one iPhone, and my one desktop computer can all stream my iCloud movie content, simultaneously. I doubt there will ever be more than two or three going simultaneously, but I just want to know the limitations before I buy these gifts for my family members and run into an unpleasant surprise.
    Thank you for your time,
    Charles

as many as you can other computers with itunes accessing the shared ituned lib
likely the limitation is the network bandwidth more then number of connected devices

  • How many Apple TVs can login to one Flickr account?

If I have twelve Apple TVs in different conference rooms, can I have all of them login to one Flickr account so they can all show the same photos on their screensavers? I couldn't find this on the Flickr site so I figured I'd try here. Thanks to anyone who can offer up an answer.

In addition to accessing the Flickr site, Apple TV also supports connecting to personal Flickr accounts. I want to connect twelve apple TVs to one personal Flickr account and wanted to find out if anyone knew if there were limitations to doing this. I'm trying to avoid finding out down the road that this results in some sort of problem and creates an issue at the wrong time resulting in a bad user experience.

  • IPads, iPhones, and Apple TVs can no longer load home sharing library after 2 years

I have been using home sharing for the past few years and streaming my music, movies, and TV shows to my Apple TVs, iPads, and iPhones. A couple weeks ago it stopped working. On all the devices I see the library (Familys Library) but when I go to load it fails to load. The iPads and iPones get to about half of the circle and fails. On the Apple TV I think the message just is "Cannot load Library"
I have tried restarting all of my devices but that has not helped. I changed the account that the home sharing is setup for and that did not help. I rebooted the Windows machine multiple times. I disabled home sharing, rebooted, restarted home sharing, all to no avail. The library system is connected over Etehrnet so I made the system to a different port on the router with no luck. I have also unplugged the router nad plugged it back in, also with no luck.
So, I will try replacing the ethernet cable but I do not see that as being the issue. It seems like something on that computer.
Going through the Programs it looks like iTunes and Quicktime were both updated on 3 June, right around the time this started to occur. I also loaded items for my duaghters Nook, Adobe Digital Editions, so that she can get books. I removed the items that I loaded for the nook and that did nto fix the issue. I would like to downgrade iTunes, but I cannot find an old copy of iTunes plus I do not know if this will destroy the library contents.
    My questions would be
    1. Can I find an older version of iTunes
    2. Can itunes be removed from the computer and reinstalled without the iTunes library getting blown away? I have a lot of moveis and descriptions and information located in the Get Info that would just stink to lose
    3. Could this be a corrupt library and is there a way t verify the library?
    4. Any other things I can do and check
Thanks for any insight and help
    Cheers
    Dave

All the cutting and pasting and I forgot the machine information:
    OS: Windows 7 x64
    Memory: 8G
    Current iTunes: 11.0.4
    Thanks

  • How many Apple TVs can you connect to a server without it dying?

    Hi
I'm interested in setting up a media server on a boat for up to 40 cabins and was wondering if it's possible to do this with apple TVs? Any comments? I can split the number of Apple TVs going to a server into floors of approx 15 each, but was wondering what i'd need to make it work? Just a big meaty PC with loads of Memory or is it just destined to fail?
I'm wondering how many apple TVs you can connect to a server. Obviously wired as wireless is just not an option.
    Thanks
    Paul

Assuming your 40 cabins are not all for your own personal use, have you considered licensing issues relating to streaming to up to 40 TVs on a boat?
Unless you have an appropriate license with a supplier that provides legal music/movies in a suitable format for AppleTV, I would imagine installing such a system in a non-personal environment would be a bit dubious.
There are undoubtedly commercial solutions of one kind of another, but AppleTV is not marketed in this way as far as I'm aware.

  • How many computers can you install Lion after purchasing from App store. My wife and I have our own Apple ID will it accept 2 different ID

I have a MacBook Pro and an iMac . My wife has a MacBook and an iMac. How many computers are you allowed to install from one download. We both use Apple products and have our own Apple ID. Can I download Lion on her computers after I have both of mine installed? Or does she have to buy LION again using her Apple ID# ?

A single purchase of Lion will allow you to download it multiple times as long as you use your Apple ID.
If your wife wishes to install Lion, she must sign into the App Store with your Apple ID.

  • I work for a university and we have a legal apple vendor. Can we re-install macosx for a replacement hard drive for a old macbook?Just one example.

I work for a university and we have a legal apple vendor who we get to buy all our Apple products from. Can we (university) re-install macosx for a replacement hard drive once the hard drive gets replaced? How can we as the university IT department legally re-install macosx on a imac, macbook, macbookair etc. We would like to load customized macosx imaging software onto the mac machines(imac, macbook, etc ). The university has its own IT workshop and we would like our users to get their laptops back in the shortest turnaround time.

We're not "Apple Inc." here, just users like you.
So whatever we say is not an official statement, nor does it in any way, shape, or form represent the official or unofficial policies or opinions of Apple, Inc.
But I'll offer my quick opinion, having worked in information-systems and technology support in a wide variety of environments over many years.
    Question #1. "NO!"
No tech support nor repair facility, even if "Apple-authorized", is automatically empowered to install or upgrade OS X on a replacement hard drive just because it is more convenient or time-efficient. When the repair is complete, the student should be expected to (re)install the operating system themself*!
Nurturing students (and occasionally dragging them, screaming and kicking!) as budding computer-, tablet-, smartphone-users to become digitally self-sufficient is a worthy goal that any institution of higher education must pursue.
Making students totally dependent upon "Mother Support" for every little thing about their personal digital devices is a grave disservice to both the students and the people who provide the support. Support-mothered students do become life-long digital dependents, instead of taking the required time to learn enough about the care and feeding of their digital "pets" to sustain them. Entreprenurial students may choose to become 'experts' and actually help each other with their devices, and even make money doing it. Some students may even be inspired/coerced to pursue a career in tech support!!!
*By all means, if the student requests additional help (re-installing the OS), then the University should charge the student a fair price for the service, provided that the user provides the OS on original or upgrade media, or in the case of the 'digital download' upgrades (for OS X 10.7 and 10.8) provides proof of purchase for the OS upgrade, or the original purchase receipt or other recognized documentation for the purchase of the computer showing the version of OS installed when purchased. Students need to learn about personal responsibility, economics ("What is MY time really worth"?), and proper record-keeping too!
Question #2. Regarding the customized imaging software, provide it on media or a link for students to download and install it. Make it their responsibility!
