If I install Roxio Easy Creator After CS3... will...

Does anyone know if I install Roxio Easy Media Creator after installing Production Suite CS3, will I present any conflicts or errors of any sorts.. particulary in the codec or DVD-burning area? Thanks.

Well, the OLD Encore FAQ discussion of
Things and Software to Avoid
mentions any "drag to disc" type tools as causing problems, so I would guess there would also be problems if any software is installed that wants to have "instant access" to the drive

I uninstalled Roxio Creator NXT Pro (& used their cleanup program and CCleaner only on Roxio remnants) and the problem disappeared.  Did a complete re-install of Roxio and the same problem came back.  Curious as to why WMP would link to a Roxio
DLL anyway.  BTW: Windows Media Center plays the same MPG files (w Roxiol) just fine so maybe not worth the $$$ below.  Had no problem with WMP &  Roxio Creator 2011 but the USB video capture device failed so I had to upgrade.
Per incident: Roxio wants $25 / MS wants $49.  Thought I'd try "free" here first, not sure who owns this problem.
(I guess the ~$49 Roxio Easy VHS to DVD Converter package has NO SUPPORT and 65% ONE STAR Amazon reviews - support only for their "Premium Products")   Maybe if they sold stuff that worked none of them would
    need "support"!
    TIA,

    (a)  My account is an administrator account.
    (b) I did try turning WMP and WMC on and off independently within and without Roxio installed.  Without Roxio WMP works fine.  WMC works either way.
    (c) I did several more uninstalls / re-installs of Roxio product including using Revo Unistaller and Roxio's c2011_systemclean.bat "clean-up uninstall tool").  None of which worked and even made it worse (see below).
My original key question still is:  Why does WMP fault via a Roxio dll?  dsfOggDemux2.dll (codec).  How is this even possible for there to be such a linkage?
After all this effort now a clean reinstall of Roxio NXT Pro leaves me with this -->
RoxioCentrtalFx.exe (their master gatewte interface) will not start-up with this new error (and un-fixable):
Faulting application name: RoxioCentralFx.exe, version: 5.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x50077c71

Although the two Roxio programs I use will start via shortcuts:  mediacapture14.exe &
    mediamanager14.exe
When the later program occasionally stops working, the application error, is via ntdll.dll which I noticed was updated in a series of Windows updates (about 12-14 of them) around the 8/27/2013 timeframe.  I kind of don't believe in co-incidences.
My one and only Roxio Forum responder kind of suggested "why you and nobody else?" (having these problems, i.e., I am the crazy nut job here) to which I referred him to the hundreds of reviews on Amazon, etc that gave Roxio 2012 products, etc ONE STAR or
less (about 50% out of >300).  I NEVER had this much trouble with Roxio 2009-2011.  Must be that new Corel culture ownership sinking in.

  • I can't open Roxio Easy CD Creator Cds on my Macbook

I created some CD files using Roxio Easy Cd Creator version 6 on a pc. When I close the disks so that they can be read on any CD-Rom, I still can't open them on my mac. I get three separate files, on and .exe file, the other a .zl file and third is an .inf file.
These CDs have photos and files on them.
I tried to open them with Terminal and System Profiler and I couldn't. I also mistakenly set defaults for opening the files when I was searching for a way to open then and now I can't change the defaults.
Is there anything I can do to open them on my Macbook?
    Thanks.

If you can see files, then you're obviously able to read the disk. The problem appears to be that your files are stored some kind of Windows file format. An exe file is either a Windows executable or a self-extracting zip file. I wasn't able to find anything on a zi file; perhaps you meant 'zip'? If you really have a 'zi' file, this might have been created by the SOBIG virus, as it had a bug that improperly named zip files with a 'zi' extension. An inf file is usually either an autorun.inf file, which is a Windows-only file which causes an application to launch when a CD is inserted, or else a configuration file for a Windows installer.

  • Best Order To Install Desktop Software V4.7 With Roxio Media Creator 10

    Hi,
What is the best order in which to install the Desktop software V4.7,  I already have Roxio Media Creator 10 on my desktop so am unsure if its okay to install the Desktop software now or remove Media Creator 10 then install the desktop software and finally reinstall the Media Creator 10 software.
I know that the Desktop Software does contain components of version 9 so I dont want to install it over 10 if this will cause an issue.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks

    Hi!
There are several versions of the DTM software, including versions that leave out Media Manager and Roxio. You can obtain the version of your choice here:

  • Exporting in Adobe Media Encoder fails in CS4 after CS3 is removed.

There's an issue with Adobe Media Encoder in CS4 where encoding will fail after CS3 is uninstalled.
If you never had CS3 installed on your machine - no problem.
If you never had CS3 and CS4 installed at the same time - no problem.
If you had CS3 and CS4 installed concurrently, then uninstalled CS3 - Houston, you have a problem.
You will need to uninstall CS4 and then reinstall CS4.
    The error message is:
    Encoding Failed
Could not read from the source. Please check if it has moved or been deleted.
One more thing I forgot to mention, this is a Win-only issue.

    >Does anyone understand this?
    Simple:
    1. Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder that contains "dynamiclinkmanager.exe"
    2. Open a
second Windows Explorer window and navigate to the folder that contains "Premiere.exe"
    3. Arrange the windows side by side.
    4. Right-click on "Premiere.exe" and drag to the first explorer window, targeting between the files so as to avoid any specific file.
    5. Release the right-hand mouse button.
    6. Select "create shortcut here" from the pop-up menu.
    Cheers

  • Bridge CS3 will not install

My Bridge CS3 will not install on my new Intel duo core iMac.  It worked on my earlier iMac, but when PhotoshopCS3 was moved and installed on the new one, Bridge was nowhere to be seen.  I have repaired permisisons, reinstalled PS CS3, and looked for Internet advice.
I would really like to continue to have the Bridge in the CS3.
Am I  going to have to rely on my new Lightroom Developer for its Camera RAW functions and for renaming my files?  I liked the Bridge RAW converter very much.  The old Bridge is still on my machine, but its renaming functions don't suit me at all,  and for some reason it is refusing to open my non-RAW files.

I still advocate Repairing Permissions (with Apple's Disk Utility) before AND after any system update or upgrade, as well as before AND after installing any software that requires an installer that asks for your password.
I have seen software installations go sour because the installer did not find everything as and where it should be.  I have also seen software installations go bad because the installer did not clean up after itself properly and did not leave everything as and where it should be.  This is just my own personal opinion and practice based on my own observations.
Others may disagree and that's OK. I can only base my routines and my advice to others on my own experience and conclusion. I don't pretend to know why others believe otherwise.  Note that this suggestion begins with "I still advocate…", not "Apple recommends…".
Repairing Permissions after the fact (i. e. not immediately before and after an install) may NOT help.  Try it anyway, though.
====       Additionally,  if your machine does not run 24/7 so that it runs the daily, weekly and monthly Cron Scripts in the middle of the night as intended by Apple, run Cocktail (shareware) as well.
Cron Scripts are maintenance routines designed by Apple to run on a daily, weekly and monthly basis in the middle of the night.  If you don't run them, you WILL run into trouble, sooner rather than later.
Here's an excerpt from the Apple tech doc http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107388  Mac OS X performs background maintenance tasks at certain times if the computer is not in sleep mode. If your computer is shut down or in sleep at the designated times, the maintenance does not occur. In that case, you may want or need to run these manually.
Mac OS X periodically runs background tasks that, in part, remove system files that are no longer needed. This includes purging older information from log files or deleting certain temporary items. These tasks do not run if the computer is shut down or in sleep mode. If the tasks do not run, it is possible that certain log files (such as system.log) may become very large. Also, from:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106978
The disk activity generated by find is a normal part of file system maintenance, used for tasks such as removing invisible temporary files that are used by the system. It is scheduled to occur early in the morning at 03:15 everyday, 04:30 on Saturdays, and 05:30 on the first day of each month.
NOTE: There have been comments to the effect that Apple "fixed" this in 10.4.2 and later versions of the OS, but I have not been able to verify this to my satisfaction.  The reference in the 10.4.2 release notes are far from explicit on this subject.    Other, more reliable reports indicate that this seems to have been fixed in the current version of Leopard.
In any event, Repairing Permissions and/or running the Cron Scripts cannot hurt.
If you have DiskWarrior, run it regularly too.  It can't hurt either, and it often improves stability and performance.

  • Roxio Easy Media Centre "the certificate file is missing"

Having purchased a new Curve 8320 I installed the Desktop Software.  Everything OK until I tried to open the media file application.  Received message - Roxio Easy Media Centre "the certificate file is missing or has been corrupted please reinstall it".  I have been on line and remooved the program as directed.  I have done the HotKey "shuffle!"  I have disabled my Trend security and reinstalled.  Still not worked.  I have downloaded another program and repeated the above.  Still not worked!!  Getting very frustrated.  I am using Windows Vista Home premium with Service Pack 1.  The Desktop Software is (I think) 4.2.2.
I would be obliged for any help.

  • Installing photoshop cs4 extended with cs3 suite

    Hi,
I would like to install photoshop cs4 extended with cs3 suite on the same drive.
Is it possible?  Should I uninstall photoshop cs3 (not extended) from the drive first?
Should I use the WinCS4Cleanupscript before I do that.
I dont want to uninstall the whole suite cs3.
    Thanks for your advises

CS3 will co-exist quite happily on your computer with CS4.
Do not remove it until you are completely satisfied with the new version!
There is absolutely no need for the clean script at this point. It is only to clear up after messed up un-installs.

  • Install says it failed after its finished

I have had Adobe CS3 Master Collection for a while on my desktop running windows 7. (Never had problems)
That machine died and I finally got a new computer which is a macbook pro.
I installed windows 7 (using the same installation disc as my old desktop) on my macbook via bootcamp.
Windows installed fine, however my Adobe CS3 Master suite does not.
Setup runs, the strange part during installation is, when it asks for disc 3, after I put it in and hit ok, it immediate asks for disc 4 without doing anthing with disc 3.
After its complete it tells me that there were some errors and installation failed for everything (except bridge, acrobat, device central and livecycle)
I tried reinstalling and it did the exact same thing again.

Check the install logs (C:\Program Files (x86)\Common\Adobe\Installer) and provide more info.

  • PP Install fails for CS4 and CS3

    Hi,
I've been trying to install my licensed copy of CS3 on a machine that had 6.5 installed and ran fine.  After two days with no success, I decided I'd download CS4 and see if it installed.  No such luck.  The behavior is the same for both CS3 and CS4.  Setup begins in CS3 and goes through the extraction of the files, when the splash screen appears for initializing setup, it flashes briefly then goes disappears and exits.  In CS4, the "checking system profile" gets about 85% complete, then the initalizing setup splash screen appears for a moment and disappears  The checking system profile remains on the screen and the process is hung.
Machine is a 3.4 Ghz Dell with 2GB RAM, SATAII hard drive with plenty of space, video is Intel integrated. XP professional service pack 3.
    Here's what I've tried:
    1) Cleaned up and removed every Adobe application on the machine, then run the CS3Cleaner at levels 1,2,3,4.
    2) Used ccleaner to remove and repair all registry related issues.
    3) Used msconfig to disable all startup commands.
    4) Updated to the latest Intel Graphics Accelerator/driver and latest chip drivers for the video.
    5) Removed most applications.
Still seems like a conflict to me, but I can't think of anything short of reinstalling XP.  I'm at wit's end and refuse to reinstall XP from scratch just to figure out something that should be apparent to me from the installation.  The windows event log gives the message that the software was successfully installed and the add/remove programs has an entry for CS3.  When I click remove, I get a prompt for debugging in Visual Studio.
I've rebooted, cleaned, retried about 40 times.  No, I'm not exaggerating.
    HELP! and TIA!

Found the answer in another post:

I had to use solution 3 modifying the javascript install.  I still haven't figured out what is interrupting the screen call for the install.  I had to modify the js file for the install of Encore too.  Oh well, it's working!

Hi, after installing Adobe CC I tried opening Adobe Photoshop. This failed.
I get the opening window where it says installing plugins searching etc, after which PS opens in full screen.
Just moments after that there's a failure warning, no code number, only the warning that PS failed to open and PS will close.
I tried downloading it for a second time, but this did'nt solve the problem.
Befor the CC version I used a one year student version of Adobe CS6.
    What can I do?

Regarding the Flash Player problem, disable Hardware Acceleration to circumvent driver incompatibilities.
Regarding the Flash Pro installation problems, post in the Flash forums or http://forums.adobe.com/community/download_install_setup

    Hi,
I am unable to install extensions, they show up with "will be installed after you restart Firefox" even after I restart.
The "Staged" folder is present and remains after a restart, but the extensions do not get installed. They show in the extensions page with the "will be installed after you restart Firefox" message and remain like this no matter how many times I restart.

P.S. Just tried to install the "troubleshooter" add-on before posting the question and I got an error saying it cannot install because it cannot modify the needed file. (I did it manually instead)

It is possible that there is a problem with the file(s) that store the extensions registry.
Delete the extensions.* files (e.g. extensions.sqlite, extensions.ini) and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.
New files will be created when required.
    See "Corrupt extension files":
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Unable+to+install+add-ons
If you see disabled or not compatible extensions in "Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions" then click the Tools button at the left end side of the Search Bar to check if there is a compatibility update available.
If this hasn't helped then also delete the addons.sqlite file.
