If I install the Lion OS, do I have to reinstall my window in Bootcamp?

I am thinking to upgrade my mac to the Lion OS, but i've already installed window on my bootcamp side. If I upgrade the OS, do i have to reintall everything for my window side? Thanks

Technically you shouldn't, but there has been a few cases when it won't.
Drive parittion map issues, if there is data at the very bottom of the Windows partiton where the Lion Recovery HD will go etc.
If your Bootcamp isn't near full, I'd say your chances are good.
BUT always backup your data.
You can clone 10.6 using Carbon Copy Cloner to a blank external drive, it's option key hold bootable.
You can use Winclone to clone the Bootcamp parittion to another drive.
So you have options to come back to the warm safety of the snow kitty a lot faster than anyone else.
If you do decide to restore 10.6 to your internal drive, make sure to erase the ENTIRE internal drive before reverse cloning 10.6 back on.
Also you know 10.7 will not run your older Rosetta based programs/hardware drivers. Some are not ready yet.

  • Abnormal behaviour with Lion. Opening Pages causes my Mac to have a lethargic performance since I installed the Lion OS, anyone has a similar problem?

Since i first installed the Lion OS, my mac has been having performance slowdowns while working on Pages. It appears to affect all functional software and hardware. E.G. when clicking either the dashboard or the desktop button it does nothing, Pages has a horrible lethargic processing, etc.
The strange thing is that Pages does reflect a considerable improvement if working in the fullscreen environment.
If anyone else is having or had this issue could you please give advice.
    Thank you

You would be better asking these questions in the Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Discussions area. The Pages Discussions area is just about Pages so we won't be able to help you with general Mac OS X problems.
However, there is a big difference opening Pages/Numbers/Keynote from Launchpad or my previous Dock. If I use Launcpad, those software open now decently quick. Using Dock is much more slower.
Have you tried removing the Dock icons for iWork and readding them?
I also downloaded Lion Disk Recovery Assistant - I am surprised that these were not on my Mac already, though my Automatic upgrade assistant informs that no new upgrades are available.
You may be surprised, but you're not being singled out. The Lion Disk Recovery Assistant was not made available to anyone via Software Update. It's a manual download from Apple's Support web pages.
If you were not aware of the Mac OS X 10.7.1 update being available you should check System Preferences > Software Update and ensure it's set to check for updates as frequently as you require.

I just installed the Lion operating system, basically to upgrade my iPhone. I didn't realize that my Microsoft Office 2004 application would no longer work. I have been using Word for my writing and I receive most of my emails with Word attachments. I have been using Apple products for years, always touting their reliability and customer service. I am not a techie, I just want to be able to do what I do on the computer and Apple always fulfilled my needs. Now I am told because of some operating system gobbledygook, I have to go out and purchase new software to use Word. This is despicable. I see no particular benefit to using Lion, but I do see a lot of detriments. Apple now seems to have turned into Microsoft, making software obsolete so they can make more money and to **** with the customer. You can be sure that my next computer will be a PC. I have completely lost confidence in Apple.

I seem to never tire of saying this. It was for Apple when they first announced 10.7 to disclose this. Yes, it was widely reported -- or rather, rumored -- but not by Apple. And many people who have gotten caught by this assumed that Apple itself would have told them beforehand about the loss of this very important feature which they had come to rely on. As far as I know, not even in fine print, does this appear anywhere on the Lion announcement or any of its links.
I am not saying Apple had to continue Rosetta in Lion, or forever, just that if it was going to be dropped, it should have been made known.
As relative "insiders" we should not forget that many people don't have the time, habit or interest to do this kind of research. I think it is a breach of trust that Apple has never directly made this announcement or given people the opportunity to decide beforehand if giving up their PPC apps for a new OS is a worthwhile tradeoff.

It is for the MacBook with built in flash storage.

    4. Power Nap requires a Mac notebook with built-in flash storage. May require a firmware update.

  • After install the lion ، the computer it's became slow

    hi
After install the lion ، the computer became slow , i don't know why . my macbook Pro Core I7 4GB ram
and Adobe photoshop cs5 very very very slow i can't work with it  please Help Me , My job depends on Photoshop
i thinking to back the snow leopard by Time machine if i don't find any Solution ,,, please help me

Is their any way I can delete or remove the lastest update ?
You can't "downgrade" with the present (newer) system in place. The only way you can do it is if you either saved the previous installer or made a bootable clone (or Time Machine) before you updated. The reason: you need to boot off a different drive, wipe your disk, and then fresh install the previous system (or clone it back).
You can also check in Activity Monitor (Applications > Utilities) to see which processes/apps are consuming a lot of RAM, and, check on the bottom to see how much RAM is being used, swapped, etc.
here is an example of what that looks like:
First shot is showing that the main use of RAM is by Firefox and kernel_task (part of the system):
Second shot shows the RAM being used/available (lloks good here):
If indexing has finished, can you post similar screenshots of your machine please?
And, a last question: how much free space do you have left on your hard drive? Pleae post that info as well.

Yes, you can and should. The DVD belong with the MBP. You should use the original DVD to erase the disk and install Snow Leopard prior to sale.
You can't sell it with Lion because it is authorized under your user ID.

  • After installed the Lion, my Mac could not connect to internet. At least the my apple Mac turn on second time, then it would connect to the network. Who can tell how to fix it? Thanks!

Since my iMac OSX have installed the Lion last week, my iMac could not connect to the internet in the first turn on, and at least I turn off the computer, and turn it on again, then there is not problem to connect to the internet. So, it take much time to access to network.
Today I called apple store to fix the problem. They rebooted my system with their distance control.By that time, it seems work. But after couple hours later, I turn on my iMac, there is not connection to the network again. I hope someone could help me to solve that problem. Thanks!

I think I would call them back to follow up. As far as they know, everything is fine. But if you call back they can continue from where they were. They usually give a case number either over the phone the first time you called, or in an email later.

  • Is there a difference between the Mac Mini Server and installing the Lion Server on an iMac?

So, I was wondering what the difference is between installing the Lion Server on an iMac as opposed to buying the Mac Mini Server because the iMac may be a cheaper solution for me since I intend to purchase a new monitor, keyboard, mouse and accessories if i purchase the Mac Mini Server.

If you intend to leave the server running all the time a Mac mini server would probably make more sense.  It isn't necessary to keep a monitor, mouse and keyboard connected to the server as you can use the server management tools, remote desktop and SSH via the terminal window on your iMac to manage the server remotely once it's up and running.

  • Can I install the lion to my other mac and how? Do I buy it again?

I installed the lion in my mac book pro. I want to install it also to my other mac book pro. Do I have to buy the lion again or is there a way to utilize the one I already purchased?

You can download Lion on as many Macs as you want provided they are authorized and you use the same Apple ID.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If you're having problems with the software on Lion and you have the latest version you need to contact the developer.

Buy Snow Leopard - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard - install it and do all the updates to 10.6.8 and then you can download and install Mountain Lion from the App Store (assuming that your Mac has the minimum requirements).
