If I learn on Logic Pro 9, will it be difficult to move to Logic Pro X?

I am studying Logic Pro for composition of orchestral music - I bought Logic Pro 9 about 2 months ago, as I had no idea Logic Pro X was coming out. I also purchased a couple of books to study it.
I am not complaining about the lack of upgrades, as I know Logic Pro is very cheaply priced; I just cannot afford the upgrade right now as I do not have the money.
I would like to ask you if it makes sense for me to study on Logic Pro 9 for the time being, and if it will be difficult to move to Logic Pro X once I have learnt Logic Pro 9. What was your experiencing moving to Logic Pro X?

I think every experienced user here will disagree withyour above statement... I've had a chance to play around with X for a bit and while there are a few differences there's nothing there to prevent a user of Logic-9 from losing his/her way in Logic X.
The Important things are almost (if not) exactly the same.
I'm a long time Logic user! (since bersion 2.x).

If you mean... delete the Logic Pro 9 app then no you wont lose any loops... However, the LP9 app is small and really won't save you that much space if you delete it..
If you mean uninstall Logic Pro 9 plus all it's content after installing LPX then yes, you could lose some loops/content because the LPX installer takes notice of any LP9 content you have already installed.
In otherwords, don't try and uninstall LP9 and it's content after installing LPX -
What software can I get on my Macbook Pro that will be ideal for 3D movie making?
Im looking to make my own 3D animations and turn them into a mini series.
I don't want to use other games as a platform.

There are third-party programs you can purchase and use, such as Disk Warrior to examine the status of the hard drive. DW is pretty decent from my experience, but when you get into the latest of the Mac OS X versions there is so much optimization already being done by the operating system you do not necessarily gain a great deal with it. I still keep it around, though.

Logic pro 9 will not install basics

Cannot get Logic Pro 9 to finish install from app store. Application iinstalls but wants to download 2 Gb extras. When download is finished Logic 9 will not open. When i reopen Logic it restarts the already finished download. HELP!How is this drive formatted? What's on it? How are you opening Logic: by doubleclicking the app or by doubleclicking a project? What project was it supposed to open? have you tried starting Logic by doubleclicking a different project?

I have flattened a take folder, but Logic Pro X will still not let me use the crossfade tool on the clip. How can I crossfade a flattened take folder?
Please repost in the Final Cut Pro forum. Have you considered upgrading your machine, if you are still running Leopard your machine may be as old as 5 years old. While this should not matter you probably won't get the performance you want out of a demanding app like FCP.

I JUST, 9 July 13, bought Logic Pro... Any change Apple will allow for some type of upgrade to Pro X, since we had NO Fore Knowledge of its release...

Unfortunately there is no easy solution for this problem.. I have seen it several times in the past with my clients... and in reality, the only real fix is to start from scratch with Mountain Lion as i describe in this thread....

Sorry.. I know it is a huge pain in the butt.... but apart from going back to Snow Leopard and using Logic Pro 9.1.8 with that (Which you can do if you made full backups before you upgraded) this method is really your only solution I'm afraid to say.... as it seems your upgrade 'screwed the pooch' so to speak.... -

This is it. Once I installed, Logic opened fine.
I do have another question. After updating Logic Studio, I now have both Logic Pro 9.0 and 9.1.4 and Logic Node 9.0 and 9.1.4 Do I need both of these on my hard drive? Can I delete the 9.0 version?

I called Apple technical support in Denmark, but with no positive reply.
She couldn't do anything, and said that They had sent a recall Email about the problem and with their offer to repair the Macbook Pro, but I'd never recieved an Email about the problem. She wasn't in power to make an exception. It can't be true that i paid a lot of money, for a product that can't barely stand on its own feets, Apple didn't tell me that the product I was about to buy, would restart every 5 minute. and now when they know the problem, they wont repair it? it just don't make sense for me. If a car seller discovers that all the brakes in a car he had sold, will crash after some years he will call all the cars back to repair no mater what. i just don't understand how Apple will make good service for their custumers, by extending the warranty from 2 to 3 years, but wont take the computers there is a little bit to old, 4 months will make the difference. i can't believe it.
What can i do now?

No.. Logic Pro X requires 10.8.4 or later....
To Purchase and install Mountain Lion these days.. you must buy a download content code from Apple directly... It is no longer available directly via the Mac App Store as an item you can select and buy...

José, if you buy and download Logic Pro in App Store now, the best option would be to buy an upgrade to Logic Studio. I don't think Jam Packs are available any more in Apple Store, besides it will be more expensive buying them one by one than upgrading to Studio.

It's (or was) professional software... you should try coming to it rather that it coming to you.
That said I think Logic x does have a simpler mode that shows less of the advanced options and is probably more familiar to Garageband users than was Logic 9.
You do have to take time to learn complex programs, not a bad thing. -
How do I perform a "Suite Product Activation" so that Acrobat will start working on my new Retina MacBook Pro?
Like others, I have recently upgraded my MacBook Pro to the next generation and migrated all my information from old to new. Everything works seamlessly EXCEPT Acrobat. Photoshop, Indesign, Bridge and Lightroom all seem functional. Acrobat hangs with an error message "Suite Product Activation Needed. Acrobat was installed as part of a suite. To enable Acrobat, please start another element of the suite (such as Photoshop)." Needless to say, starting another element of the suite has NO impact on Acrobat.
This has to be a common problem. Now that Apple has made it really easy to migrate information from old to new machines, it has to come up all the time. What surprises me greatly is that I can't find any coherent answer in these forums.

I am running Adobe Acrobat Pro Version 9.5.5. I do not remember whether it came with Photoshop or InDesign.
When I open Photoshop, it opens without my having to follow any instructions to activate the software. As a matter of fact, I cannot find my Photoshop serial number anywhere in the Photoshop program itself. I do know it from my profile at Adobe.com. Are you suggesting I deactivate Photoshop on the new computer and then reactivate it using my serial number? Will it reactivate?

what do you mean? I do not have a startup disk. I have the original installation disk but that version of Photoshop has been updated a few times.
After staring at your instructions for a while, I realized that you might be talking about the Library/Application Support folders resident on my Macintosh HD, although why you called it a startup disk is unclear to me. IAC, I went into those folders and duly moved the three folders into a new folder I called “Acrob1” and restarted Adobe Acrobat 9 and got the following error message: “AMT Subsystem Failure The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall of call customer support.” with a small (6).
By undoing my actions I am back to the staus quo ante.
Now what?
