If I preorder the iPhone 4s can I wait a month or two to activate it?
My parents want me to wait till Christmas to use it but I want to order it now incase they sell out or something.. can I do that? (I read somewhere I'd be charged the full price of the phone if it isn't activated within 30 days, don't know if it's true)
Your parents sound like a real drag. Just order it before Christmas...they won't sell out cuz they're always being made.

Most carriers will allow you to swap phones between numbers without a problem. Swapping will not change the contract on the number that the phone was ordered for. Nor will it affect eligibility for future upgrades. Of course the "swap" will normally need to be done with phones on the same carrier and is probably easier to do when on the same account.
I do this every year, or rather every other year. I am the techie, my wife not so much. So when the new iPhone comes out, I get it for which ever number is eligible for upgrade and have it activated to my number and then activitate my old phone to her number. I usually go to the phone company store (AT&T in my case) as they have new sims on hand and usually need to use at least one. -

i got a new lenovo desktop windows 8.1,installed itunes and synced my iphone 4 no problems. then i imported a cd of songs which showed up in recently added but not in main library ,therefore it did not sync to the iphone. how can i get new songs to appear in the main library and sync properly

johnCheck the songs are really not in the Music section of the library by clicking the magnifying glass in the search box and unticking Search Entire Library if it is ticked, then typing in the name of the album. If the tracks still don't show try closing iTunes and deleting a hidden file called sentinel from inside your iTunes folder. This should make iTunes run an integrity check on the database when you start it again. Make sure the tracks are checked before you try syncing again.

Can I use Google Sync to transfer only my contacts from my IPhone 4 to my gmail account? I do not want to sync info from Gmail to the IPhone. Can the sync work only one-way? I have 0 contacts & 0 calendar events on my gmail account. I opened the Gmail account specifically to for the Google Sync and wil only be using this account as a back-up for my IPhone contacts. Please Help!!
You do realize that the SIM only contains account information for your wireless account.
Moving the SIM from phone to phone does not cause any of your iTunes content, contacts, email, etc to magically appear on the device. -
I purchased the Brookstone DLP projector for the iPhone, and all the reviews state the iPhone 4S can be mirrored with it. However, I can't not figure out how to do so. Is there a setting to change? Can't figure it out! ARGGG!
It will show pictures and videos if I choose, Start Slideshow, but it won't show anything else, no apps, etc.

JimI also have not figured out how to mirrow either. I ask you both, is the sound via the projector louder than the phone itself when projector is tuerned off? No matter what I do the max vilume through the projector speakers is lower that the phone itself even with phone remaining installed in projector. I am think of taking it back to try another one.

I updated my Iphone4 and had the m.calendar app with all of my daily temperatures saved, since the update after even after synching the iphone to itunes I have lost months of tracking I am devastated!! can anyone help get it back
I don't understand this answer. What do you mean " your contacts should be in whatever program/service you have selected to sync."? The address book is created on the phone not in Itunes or any other program/service. When Itunes says backing up phone I have to assume it backs up everything on the phone. Most of what's on my phone does not come out of itunes. I download apps directly on the phone. When the software updates it does not bring those apps back. I have to go into the appstore and install them all over again. Itunes music library syncs with whatever is on the device your linked up to BUT the phone book just dissappears after you update the phone. There is no way to save it anywhere else.

I have an app called ipieta which was originally downloaded onto an ipod. I gave the ipod to someone else, but now that I've had the iphone I can not get the audio even though it is downloaded into itunes music like it said to do. It won't work. I've tried more than several times to get help but nothing helps. Do I need to deauthorize the ipod or perhaps erase all the downloaded ipieta stuff and start over?

I know the iphone 4s can turn off the vibrate for all sounds, but is there a way to keep the vibration on for just phone calls (with the ringtone) but off for everything else?
