If i rent a movie from itunes store can i watch it offline

if i rent a movie from the itunes store and download to my ipad, can i then watch offline, like on a plane for example

Yes you can watch it offline after you start it though the timer for the rental will start so if you dont finish it with in the time window of the rental you will have to re rent it.

  • I rented a movie from iTunes store and downloaded it on my Mac.  It does not appear on my iPad.  iCloud is on.

Why isn't a movie I rented on Mac from iTunes not appearing on my iPad.

Connect the device and select it in iTunes.
    Click the Movies button.
Select the movie, and then click Move.
After all movies have been moved, click Apply in the lower-right corner of iTunes.
You must be connected to the Internet to transfer a rented movie.

  • After purchasing a movie at itunes store, can u watch it without downloading it on your ipod or iphone?

Ive purchased a movie but ive scarcely enough space in my ipod to download it, so my question is, can i watch it on my ipod without downloading it bcause almost all the times appears error pn download

I do not belive so. I believe the video must still be downloaded to watch it.
However, you have posted to the iTunes Match forum, which your question is not related to. You'll get better support responses by posting to the iPod touch forum.

  • HT1296 When I rent a movie from iTunes store, it will not transfer to my iPad.  Why?

I have owned my iPad for a year.  I have rented a number of movies in that time.  Recently, my last four movies appear to transfer to the iPad, but when I attempt to play them, they will not play.  Any ideas?

You should be able to move it to your iPad.

  • Rental movies from iTunes Store

    Dear Friends,
Trying to rent a movie from iTunes Store, why in some cases the icon where to click to rent the movie is a liter shade of gray and won't let me rent the movie when compared to other movies in the same catagory? My account has the proper funds. Here is an other twist, this happens on MacBook Air, but does not happen on iPad. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for the assistance in advance.
    Thomas

    Launch iTunes on the MBAir.
From the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click iTunes > Preferences then select the Parental Tab.
    Deselect:  Explicit Content
    Then click OK.

  • HT1725 I have rented ten movies from iTunes and they claim to have been downloaded but they all seems not to have been downloaded properly because they all stop after playing for just a minute or two. What do I do?

I have rented ten movies from iTunes store and to my chargin they don't play on my iPad after it indicates it's been already downloaded. This has happened to me a couple of times and I just ignore it and rerent the movies. But now it's all the eight movies I rented and two tv shows, one of which I bought a seasons ticket. What can I do to be able to watch these movies or get iTunes to credit back my account. Thank

    Does this happen quite often?

  • HT1657 i rented a move from iTunes...i was on a plane and tried to watch it, but got a message that there was a problem in accessing the iTunes store.  i had a wifi connection, but had to buy internet access to watch the movie.  is this normal?

i rented a movie from itunes.  i was on a plane when i tried to access it...but got an error message saying "cannot access itunes store".  i had a wifi connection but had to purchase internet to watch the movie on the plane.  never had this problem with my ipad and never have it when i download tv shows.  what's the deal with movies?

It's not normal, presuming that the movie downloaded completely, but it has come up from time to time. I've not been able to figure out from the various posts why rentals work for most but in some cases insist on a connection to the iTunes store. Go here:
    http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html
to report the issue to the iTunes Store. Perhaps they can provide an explanation, though you may just get canned and rather inapplicable replies about how to rent or download.
    Regards.

  • HT1933 Why is it that I rented a movie from iTunes on my computer but it is not showing in my Apple TV to view

Why is it that I rented a movie from iTunes on my computer but it is not showing in my Apple TV to view

    Hello Amy,
You can but the method varies depending on the Apple TV that you have.
From the article How to rent a movie from the iTunes Store on your computer found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1390:
To rent movies from the iTunes Store on your computer
In iTunes on your computer, click iTunes Store.
In the iTunes Store, find a movie you want to rent.
Click Rent. Your rental should begin to download immediately.
Once the rental is downloaded, you can watch it on your computer or transfer the rental to a supported iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV (1st generation):
Connect the device and select it in iTunes.
    Click the Movies button.
Select the movie, and then click Move.
After all movies have been moved, click Apply in the lower-right corner of iTunes.
You must be connected to the Internet to transfer a rented movie.
If you have Apple TV 2nd gen. or later you can use Airplay to play it on your tv through the Apple TV.
Here is the article to help get that setup and going.

  • I rented a movie from iTunes on my apple tv, can I watch this rental on another apple tv that's on the same network and under the same account?

I would like to rent a movie from iTunes on one of my apple tv's and would like to know if I can watch that movie rental on another apple tv on the same network. I used to rent movies on my Mac and was able to watch on different apple tv through home-sharing.

    Hey hskcheng,
Movies rented on an Apple TV can not be transferred to a different device. See this article for reference -

  • Can i use an iTunes Gift Card to rent a movie from iTunes on my iPad? And if so, how?

Can i use an iTunes Gift Card to rent a movie from iTunes on my iPad? And if so, how?

Why can't I use an iTunes gift card in Canada to purchase apps for my iTouch?
Inquiries to the iTunes Store have yielded only the following explanation:
"Due to tax laws and commerce restrictions for software in Canada, customers residing in Canada may only purchase games and applications using a credit card."
What these "laws/restrictions" might be have never been identified.
Can I somehow exchange the giftcards that I have for App gift cards?
There are no "app gift cards". Again, you can only use a credit card to purchase software in the Canadian iTunes Store.
Problem is I don't have a credit card to purchase the apps.
Perhaps you could obtain one of the "prepaid" credit cards some banks offer. If not, then the only way you'll be able to buy apps is to get someone to allow you to use their credit card.

  • I rented a movie from iTunes. When I go to watch; it says download???

I rented a movie from iTunes for my iPad 3rd Gen. I went to the video app like usual. Selected to watch, and it said- I've already purchased it, but I have to go to downloads to download it. What the heck does that mean? Where do I go. It's taking me longer to figure this out; then would've been to watch the movie. Please help! I'd really appreciate it

    Hello don_ristows_computer,

  • I rented a movie from iTunes and now it's not working

I rented a movie from iTunes on my iPad and it started downloading.  For some reason it stopped.  The movie is showing up in the video app but when I hit play or the download cloud it tells me I have rented the movie but have not downloaded it.  I go back to iTunes and the download section is gone.  I go back to the movie, where you can buy or rent, and it says watch....which if clicked on takes me back to videos.  And then it again tells me I have rented the movie but have not downloaded it and to go to Downloads to manage my downloads.  THERE IS NO DOWNLOAD SECTION OR OPTION IN ITUNES....IT IS GONE!!  I have closed iTunes and restarted my iPad several times and am still having the same issue.  I have rented movies in the past with no issues.  I have NO IDEA what is going on and am very very frustrated.  Hopefully someone can help.
    Thanks!!

I would ask iTunes Store support for help with this. You may never be able to get the movie to download on your own now.
Go here and then tap on Connecting and downloading, then tap on Movie Rentals. You can have someone contact you, you can chat online or you can get email support. I would opt for the phone call or online chat.

  • If I rent a movie from iTunes do I need wifi to watch it

If I rent a movie from iTunes can I watch it without wifi

iTunes store downloads movies to your iDevice, directly, over Wifi.
Once the movie or TV show downloads from the iTunes Store from over the Internet via Wifi, you should be able to watch it without needing any WiFi connection.
Try this by completely downloading a movie to your iDevice, turn off Wifi in the iOS Settings app, then try playing the movie.

  • I rented a movie from itunes(The Untouchables), and it won't play. It lets me click on it but then is just black and won't play. I saw that I was billed for it. What should I do?

I rented a movie from itunes(The Untouchables), and it won't play. It lets me click on it but then is just black and won't play. I saw that I was billed for it. What should I do?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
