Hi all I have never sync my ipad before to itunes.I have now disabled my ipad as I changed the password and accidentally entered the password to many times incorrectly.
If I restore my device will I lose all my photos or will it backup the Ipad before the restore process starts, so I can restore my photo's later?
Kind Regards
CliconAll content will be removed, it won't be backed up first - and you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
Have you been backing up to iCloud instead, or do you not have any backup ? -
If I restore my iPad will I lose my data plan?
I am planning to back up my iPad and restore it to lend to a friend for a week. I'm gonna buy a data plan for him, but when I restore from the backup will I lose my data plan
If you restore your iPad, everything will be deleted but your data plan won't be modified. You will keep it because it has nothing to do with the iPad

Hey - if I restore my iPhone will I lose the music I've purchased from it?
A restore will erase your iTunes media but you can re download iTunes purchases without being charged again.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
"With iTunes 10.3 and iOS 4.3.3 or later, you can download your previous purchases directly to your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or computer.1" -

If I update my iPad will I lose everything on it?!
Backup your iPad first and if something goes wrong, you can restore from the backup, I have never, ever lost anything when I updated any of my iDevices going back to iOS 3.x and I am now on iOS 6.1 the very latest iOS on my Pad 3.
What you should do anytime that you update the device is to transfer purchases from the iPad into iTunes - File>Transfer Purchases - and you should backup the iPad as well. When you update the update the device, if something goes wrong, you can restore from the backup.
If you have any other important files, you may want to transfer them to your computer as well, prior to the update.
Transfer purchases.

HT4236 if i sync with ipad using pc will i lose my photos in the ipad phot library?
if i sync with ipad using pc will i lose my photos in the ipad phot library?
You won't lose photos that you've taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit or saved from emails/websites - those photos aren't affected by syncing.
If they are photos that were originally synced from a computer and this isn't the same computer, then you should be prompted as to whether you want them replacing - but there is a risk that they will be removed. -
Why did I update my ios 6 through wifi only for it to ask me to connect to itunes and now its making me restore it? Will I lose everything?
It's in recovery mode. You don't have a choice. Anything that was on the phone is already gone. If you didn't back it up, there is no way to recover it.

HT4137 if i restore my ipod will i lose all of my pictures ?
If I restore my ipod will I lose all of my pictures ?
Yes, unless you create a backup of your iPod before you restore it via iTunes. See here for what is included in the backup.
iTunes: About iOS backups
And information on how to backup your device.
iOS: How to back up
If these were synced photos, they won't be included in the backup that you can make via iTunes or iCloud, but since they originally were synced from your PC, they should still be there.

HT4623 Will I lose my photos and information if I restore and update?
I just received the following message when updating my phone. It says my phone is in recovery mode and I need to restore. Will I lose my photos and information if I restore and update?
IF your phone is in recovery mode, then all data is off the phone already.
You will need to restore your phone but you can use your icloud or itunes backup to get your information back.
I assume you back up on a regular basis right? -
Hi Apple! I am having a few problems with my 6 month old iPad mini (ios 7.1.1). I am using my iPad and then some time later it just restars! Don't know why and it just keeps doing it! Please fix or if I restore my iPad will it do any good? Thank you
Plug your iPad into your computer, open iTunes, and click Restore. This will reset your iPad to factory settings, so make sure everything important is stored safely. Once the restore is complete, do NOT restore from your backup.
If you still have problems, take the iPad to the Apple Store or another AASP (Apple Authorised Service Provider). If you're still within warranty, any service will be of no cost. Check your serial number here or find your receipt.
Hope I've helped!
PS: This is a peer-to-peer forum. Apple generally doesn't pay attention here.

I formatted a USB thumbrdive as Extended + Journaled, GUID partition. Actually I did it on 2 different thumbdrives to see if the problem would repeat and it's the same on both. I use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy the small Boot partition off my machine

I updated the firmware last weekend (1 August 2009), sorry don't know how to find the numbers. After update, I restored settings from backup and then discovered that I could not share a photo to Flickr or OVI from within the camera application. Later
