If for some reason she has failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then she can redownload some purchases in some countries:

  • The camera on my iPhone 3GS disappeared. How do I get back everything as it was when I bought my iPhone3GS?

The camera disappeared from my iPhone, I do not know how to get it back, how can I get back to normal since I bought it?

check your other app folders and screen.
check restrictions, if the above don't work then do this:
settings - general - reset - reset home screen layout.

  • If I back up my iPod Touch using iCloud and then restore it, will I be able to get back all my photos, app data, etc?

About 5 months ago I was clearing up space on my PC. I had moved music that was in my music folder onto a USB and I thought that I could do the same with my iTunes Library folder onto my USB. But it wouldn't fit, so I moved it back. But when I went to back up my iPod it didn't recognize it anymore. I haven't been able to restore it anymore. Just until now I'm trying to see if I could back-up my data & photos to iClod and then Restore it, but I'm just a little unsure. Can anybody just reasure me that this will OR will not work.

I don't really think that you need to restore your device in order to sync it again with iTunes. I suspect all that you need to do is connect the device to iTunes and then accept it as a new device and choose the option to start syncing with that library.
Of course, it would be a good idea to back up to iCloud before you did this.

  • If I were to exchange my iPhone 5 for a new one, will I be able to get it immediately on the spot?

Having some issues with the wake/sleep button and I'm thinking of getting it exchanged for a new set in Singapore. However I'm living in Malaysia and I would like to know how long would the replacement process be. Thanks!

An iPhone is supported only in the country in which the iPhone was originally sold. If you are living in a country other than the one in which you purchased the iPhone, you will not be able to get service there. You will need to take the iPhone back to its original country or send it to someone you know there to get it replaced.
As to the process, that will depend on the country of sale and from where you purchased the iPhone. If you can clarify that, we can provide more specfic information.
    Regards.

Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo.

  • Iphone 3gs will not activate after restore and update

my sons iphone 3gs will not activate after restore and ios update.
phone keeps saying no service but worked fine before restore and update any ideas ? thanks

Sorry. The jailbreak is undoubtedly the root cause of your problem.
It is not always possible to repair the damage done by jailbreaking.
Try searching google for an answer, but be prepared to just buy a new phone.

  • HT1688 i have restored my iphone 3gs and put my sim card in it but it will no longer activate. my power button is broken so i cannot turn it off. what can i do to fix this??

i have restored my iphone 3gs and put my sim card in it but it will no longer activate. my power button is broken so i cannot turn it off. what can i do to fix this??

Then the SIM may have failed. Try removing and re-inserting it. If that doesn't fix it, you will have to get the SIM replaced by your carrier.

  • Iphone 3gs will not turn on after attempting a factory restore

My iphone 3gs will not turn on after attempting a factory restore, all that happens is the apple logo appears the timer goes round then stops.  It then switches itself on and off several times to no avail.
The only way I can turn it off now is by holding the off button and the home button, but then it goes into the cycle again.
    Any advice gretly appreciated.

  • FIXED (for me at least): iPhone 3gs will not sync with Gateway NV79

I’ve spent months trying to fix this miserable problem with getting my iPhone 3gs to sync with my new Gateway NV79. Gateway will not help. Their technical support is genuinely worthless. Microsoft blames Apple and Apple blames Gateway.
My old iPod Nano syncs to my Gateway NV79 without a problem. I’ve tried all of the proposed fixes but other posters with no success.
But I do believe I’ve discovered a real fix (for me at least). Here’s my setup:
    • Gateway NV79 running Windows 7 64 bit edition
    • iTunes 10
    • iPhone 3gs running OS 4.02
The USB ports needs tweaking to get the iPhone 3gs to sync to the Gateway NV79. Follow these steps without your iPhone 3gs connected to the Gateway NV79:
Step 1: Go to Control Panel
    1. Open Control Panel
    2. Click Hardware & Sound
    3. Click Power Options
    4. Make sure Balanced is selected and click Change Plan Settings
    5. Click Change advanced power settings
    6. Expand USB Settings
    7. Expand USB selective suspend setting
    8. Change On Battery setting to Disabled.
    9. Change Plugged in setting to Disabled
    10. Click OK
Step 2: Go to Windows Explorer
    1. Open Windows Explorer
    2. Right-Click Computer (not your computer name)
    3. Click Properties
    4. Click Device Manager
    5. Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers
    6. Right-click first Generic USB Hub
    7. Click Properties
    8. Click Power Management
    9. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
    10. Click OK
    11. Right-click second Generic USB Hub
    12. Click Properties
    13. Click Power Management
    14. Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power
    15. Click OK
    16. Restart your computer
After your computer restarts, login and connect your iPhone.
You must complete both steps. Step 1 is required for Step 2 to stick.
There are a few things that may happen. iTunes may start syncing immediately and fail with an error. Don’t worry. If the sync fails the first time, restart the computer with the iPhone still connected. Now, iTunes will either take you to setup screen to connect your iPhone or the sync may restart. In my case, the setup screen came up and I DID NOT CHOOSE TO RESTORE. Pick the first option to add your iPhone. The sync will restart and may or may not finish. Don’t worry, if the sync fails, restart your computer again with the iPhone still connected and this time the sync will work.
Here’s the problem: the iPhone 3gs will not sync with the power management enabled for the USB ports on the Gateway NV79.
    Good luck.

If you cannot update your computer, you will not be able to sync your phone. The requirements are:
    Mac system requirements
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
iTunes 10.1 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access

  • HT1414 restoring my iphone 3gs is not completeing and the phone is not working

restoring my iphone 3gs is not completing and my phone is not working i took it to my local phone shop they told me that the new itunes will not fit onto the iphone 3gs, how can i get my phone to work.

If your restore is failing, there could be MANY issues...  You may need to restore the phone back to "new phone" during the restore... PAY ATTENTION HERE...  You will lose ALL contacts, photos, videos, voice memos, etc... But you will be able to re-add your apps< and music through itunes.  that is very last resort though.  if that doesnt work, I would look into updateing your phone.  Personally I wouldn't get the 5, just because I dont need the additonal size screen...  I have the 4S and LOVE it!!  but, do some research, and see what you can find on the matter.  But it sounds like your headed down hill fast with that phone... May be best just to upgrade and save yourself the frustration...

  • HT201401 iphone 3gs will not come on and message 21 appears saying phone in recovery mode. no updating or anything else was done. phone was on table all day

iphone 3gs will not come on. tried to restore message 21 appears. phone will not come on or charge or do anything. phone has been sitting on table all day

If your phone is in recovery mode, you've already lost ALL of the data on the phone. Your only choice now is to restore it from your most recent backup. You follow this by syncing your content back to your phone. Any data, on your phone, not backed up or in supported applications on your computer, is gone. iTunes content you can re-download for free.

i  accidentally restored my iphone 3gs, now it cant recognise my sim and its asking for a sim

You are not using a valid SIM that came along with your phone. Please insert the sim card with which your iPhone was purchased. Your phone is locked to that particular SIM and will not recognise other sim cards. If you don't know which sim it was, you might want to take the iPhone to the place where you purchased it from.
