If I restore my iPod Touch 4g, would I be able to get my data from my applications back?
I recently bought a new iPod Touch 4G about 2 weeks ago and today when I tried to sync it with iTunes, it said that iTunes cannot read the contents of my iPod and that I have to factory restore my iPod.
It has not been Jailbroken by the way. I'm a new user of an iPod Touch.
But my question is, would my data from the apps I have downloaded be reset to "new" (as if I just downloaded it)? Right now my sister has a lot of coins in temple run and she wouldn't like it if it all went away.
Also, does anyone know a way to prevent this error from hapening again?
Yes, if you have icloud backup or itunes backup you could get your app data back. You can do so later in the activation on the ipod touch not on itunes. Inertnet connection required (wifi). The error is only fixable by restoring the ipod touch and this can be preveted by downloading itunes 10.6.3 which can be downloaded here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and by have one of these os windows xp, vista, 7, macintosh 10.5, 10.6, 10.7. Well I know I said I only have a second generation iPod Touch, so maybe I'm out of Touch (no pun intended) but I fail to understand how you have installed a SIM card into an iPod Touch.
If your iPod Touch can have a SIM card installed into it, I would think that makes it a phone.

Would there be any way I would be able to get the data from that app onto my phone? Is it possible to put an old back-up on my phone?

I believe you are missing the point. The OP has already restored from back up, but failed to include a specific app in the back up and is trying to recover data for it, which in this case is not possible. -

- If you restored the 5G frmm the iTunes backup of the 3G were th app in the iTunes library of the computer you used? They have to be.
- If yes then try again. When I first restored my iPad 4 from the iTunes backup of my iPad 1 app data did not transfer. I tried again and it did. -

Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings -

No. There is not way to preveent anyone from restoreng the iPod and using it themselves or selling it. Apple will not help at all.
You should still report it to the police incase someone finds it and turns it in. Also change the passswords for all accouts used on the iPod. -

I can't restore my Ipod touch 4G, even in DFU mode, i get an error 28, what do i do?
I tried yo restore but i get an error 28, i already have the latsest version of itune and i tried with 2 differents USB cables in 4 different USBs.

I lost my music once because a faulty hard disk, I got in touch with iTunes support and got back most of it, except those that where pulled off the iTunes Store, but I am not sure what are the current policies. That is why I advice you to take it to the Apple Store, if it is a faulty unit you might get it replaced for free, who knows.

I have been trying to restore my ipod touch for several weeks. The ipod is on the usb-itunes screen but the computer will not recognize it. I have tried three different laptops and am now very frustrated. I have also tried several different usb connectors.
Try putting the iPod in DFU Mode vs. Recovery Mode.

I restored my ipod touch however the apps will not sync. I tried to re-download but I changed my apple id as my old id is no longer a valid email address. Any ideas out there please?
It might be logical to someone, but not to me. I agree it's a pain.
How did you change your Apple ID? Creating a new one is not what you want to do, but if you changed the ID associated with your purchases then that might have worked. You would need to sign in with the Apple ID on both your iPod Touch as well as in iTunes. I'm not sure how you changed it but clearly they need to match.

It will send an email confirmation to the email address associated with that Apple ID. The email address you elect to use might not look anything like your Apple ID. If you don't appear to get an email check your spam filter.
