If i selected to "Create a new backup" and then cancelled that option but want to go back and select "Inherit backup history"; how do i go back and do that since now when i plug in my HD, that option doesn't appear anymore?? Any Help?

Any Help? I bought a MacBook Air, but decided to return it for the newest model, and I wanted to back it up so that I can then back it up on my new MacBook Air. I didn't understand the option to Inherit or start a new back up, and therefore selected the option to create a new backup. I believe I should have selected to Inherit backup history so that when i back it up on the new MackBook Air, it appears the same as the one I'm returning.... Is there anyway that i can re-select the option to Inherit backup history for time machine?

You need to Copy the iTunes from the Other computer or its Backup, to your New computer.

You are correct. Corrupted files are in the backup. If you've already restored the iPhone it has been erased and starting over is the way to go in order to eliminate the corrupted files.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. Hey guys, I need some serious help. I have an external hard drive, iomega which apears to no longer work; I am sure it is something I have done and I cant figure out what! I am certainly not a computer expert and am in Turkey so I dont have access to a MAC store for assistance or anything like it. Yesterday I plugged my external hard drive into my MacBook and got a message telling me to refotmat. I looked up how to do so and through disk utilities thought I did it right. Now when I plug in the hard drive my laptop does not pick it up; the only place it shows up is in utilities, the same place I tried to repair and reformat. When I am utilities it looks like I have 2 hard drives, one under the other. One tells me the description of the hard drive, the other doesnt really tell me anything. So I erased both of them and I think that is where my problem is. Any help on how I could fix this? I tried to "mount" the one that is not "mounted but it didnt work....I dont even know what that means!!! Help!

When you erased the disk did you select Mac OS Extended Journaled as the format option?

I think that's the way it's supposed to work. When you connect to a computer that has iTunes, but is different from the computer you are normally synced to, you are asked if you want to sync to the current computer. If you say yes, it will replace the content of your iPod with what is designated to sync in the iTunes. If you say no, it will leave your content alone, but you won't be able to load any new songs, but you can still use it in disk mode as a storage device.
The exception is that you can transfer your iTunes store purchases to the new computer from the iPod, but I haven't done that myself. I'm not sure, but I don't think you can transfer non-store tracks, like those you burn from your own CDs. You have to copy those manually and then sync them onto the iPod.
Anyway, that's how it works with a 6th gen and the latest iTunes. Not sure if there is a limitation with 2nd gen.

I could be the cable or it could be that the connecor in the iPod is damaged. If the iPod is the problem replacing the cable will not help. Look at the dock connector on the iPod and the contacts on the cable.
