After researching this topic, I found the placing an old SIM card in a new iPad would be impossible. There is no way for consumers to remove the back cover... Without dropping it off a building. My best suggestion: Use the current plan up first. Then buy a new plan.

  • Can I use Office:Mac 2004 with my new MacBook Pro

I just got a brand new MacBook Pro, and I'm trying to install my office:mac 2004 edition, but it seems to not be working. Do I have to repurchace office:mac or can I just upgrade.

The 2004 version of Office will not work on Mac OS X Lion (10.7) or Mountain Lion (10.8) because it uses Power PC code. Power PC support was dropped in Lion and later. Version 2008 or 2011 should work fine.

  • Can you use a sim card with the ipad??

I am planning on buying an ipad, but was wondering if there was a sim card option for it. I will be mostly using it in a country where wifi is very scarce. Any input?
Also, what do they mean by 3G enabled.
Thank you so much for your help!!!

A lot depends on how much you intend to use it when away from home.
Would you be in the vicinity of Wifi hotspots?
The 3G model costs £100 more (an extra 25% of the cheapest model) plus whatever your data plan is.
If you are not regularly in the vicinity of hotspots, and not likely to be a heavy user, the cheaper option is to purchase a Mifi (yes, Mifi) device from a network such as 3. It is the size of a small mobile phone and connects wirelessly to your iPad. The device and a 12gb download over 12 months costs very little more than the extra price for the 3G model. Other plans are also available with the 3 network. Google 3 Mifi.
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I sync my iPhone 4 with a new MacBook Pro without losing all my data and settings?

I used to sync my iPhone 4 with a PC running Windows XP until the hard drive died. Thankfully, I already had a backup of all my iTunes media (Songs, TV Shows, Movies, Podcasts, Apps, etc), so when I bought a new MacBook Pro, transferring my iTunes library was easy.
My problem now is that I want to sync my iPhone 4 with my new MacBook Pro without losing all the data and settings. I have already used iTunes to back it up and transfered my purchases onto the mac. I just need help to sync the iPhone with the Mac without losing app data, emails, contacts, settings.
Everytime I click on the tabs (to sync contacts, apps, music, et al), I get an error message that reads:
"Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone “Ryan's iPhone” will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library."
What do I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • Can I use two SIM cards with one iPhone5s? ie, switch phone numbers and plan, same carrier?

I live where there is no Cell service in remote BC Canada.  Fortunately, we have highspeed Internet!  Thus, I have been using an iPod Touch 4th gen & Skype to make all my calls for a 2 or 3 years.  I travel a couple of times a month into cell coverage.  I plan to use my iPhone 5s on a iPad Data Package when in cell coverage.  I called and asked bell if I could do so if I bought an unlocked iPhone.  I was told yes, but recieving calls would be very expensive.  I have email notification and a phone number where voice mails are emailed to me, so am able to do without recieving calls in most cases.  However, certain situations lead to frustrating telephone tag.
Just today, after receiving my unlocked iPhone 5s I realised that Bell also has a pay as you use plan that is very reasonably priced for cell calls only.  If I was able to switch SIM cards I could get both plans.  Thus if recieving a call or placing one was important I could just switch my SIM card.  Could that be done reasonably and practically?
I would appreciate an answer to this question!
    Scott

Let me see if i got this straight. You have two iDevices. One is an iPad, which uses 3G Data. The other one is an iPhone 5s. You plan on purchasing two plans, One thats has only 3G Data, and the other one that has only phone calls, and messages. The answer to your question is Yes. At least i done that with t-mobile USA. If your iPad is compatible with nano-sim cards, yes you can. If not, you will have to buy an iPad with nano-sim such as the iPad mini 3G. This is totaly possible.

  • Can I use a NTSC monitor with my European MacBook Pro?

    Hi
I moved from Europe to the US and took my Macbook Pro with me. Now I need a second computer monitor (thinking Dell u2410). Can I buy one here in the US or will the whole PAL vs. NTSC thing have an effect?
    Thanks for helping
    Cheers
    Jakob

It will be fine. A Dell U2410 or any other monitor will work fine with your MacBook Pro.
PAL vs. NTSC is not a consideration in computer displays. It really pertains only to video encoding (as in movies/DVDs/TV broadcasts), not the video output from the miniDisplayPort on your MacBook Pro.
Also, FYI, you can play both PAL and NTSC videos/DVDs on your MacBook Pro and show them on your external monitor.

  • Can I use an LG GP08LU11 with a 2012 MacBook Pro Retina?

I have the above super drive. It is USB2.0 and shows up as a remote drive in Finder but I cannot Get Info on the drive or see the DVD that I have put into it.

You could purchase 2 mini displayport to DVI adapters ($30 ea) and use the 2 Thunderbolt ports. I have one external DVI monitor connected to 1 of my Thunderbolt ports. Works great!
Sorry my mistake. You said non-Retina.

how can i use my apple ID with the itune store over my windows laptop

If you don't have iTunes installed on your laptop then you can download and install it from here : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
You can then log into your account on it via the Store > Sign In menu option (on iTunes 11 on a PC you can get the menus to show via control-B) :
And you can then select the Store on the left-hand sidebar (you can enable the sidebar via control-S), and then browse items in the store and buy them by clickin on their price.

  • How can I sync my iPad 2 with my new MacBook Pro when it is already synced with my old MacBook? I am getting a message on the new MacBook Pro that says I am not allowed to sync the iPad 2 because it is synced to another iTunes library.

How can I sync my iPad 2 with my new MacBook Pro when it is already synced with my old MacBook? I am getting a message on the new MacBook Pro that says I am not allowed to sync the iPad 2 because it is synced to another iTunes library.

    1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPad but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPad with it.
above works for purchases from the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.
also, there are PhoneView and iRip.

  • Can I connect and use a Dell projection unit..several years old...with my new Macbook Pro?  do i just need an adaptor for the multi-pin plug?

I would like to use my old Dell projection unit with my new Macbook Pro laptop, but obviously there is no such plug in the Macbook.  Is there an adaptor I can connect and make it work?  Without the old "F" keys, how do I get the Macbook to provide output to the projection unit?  I don't see an icon on a button anywhere?
Thanks for any help...  trying to become a good Apple user.
    MarkT

You have to determine what connection options are available on the projector.  You probably will need a Mini-displayport (Thunderbolt) adapter. that can accommodate the projector.
    Ciao.

You should be able to.  As long as you are signed in to the same AppleID that has an available balance.  The services are linked.

You cannot use that card. iTunes gift cards are only valid in the country of original purchase.
