If i shut my screen while music is playing the next time I open it music will not play on built in speakers or through the audio port
Title explains most of it. I i am listening to itunes or any other music program and I shut my screen without first pausing the music, then the next time I open my laptop and try to play music no sound comes out. I've tried messing with the speaker configurations with no prevail. If I restart my laptop everything will work fine again, but this can get annoyying if I forget to pause my music. Also if it's a bigger issue I want to get it fixed while it's on warrenty.

Right - unplug the external speakers before putting or allowing the systemt to sleep. The same issue happens when users sleep with headphones attached.

I updated my iPhone 6 to the latest iOS 8.1 and now my music will not shuffle. It will play one or two songs but then shut off and return to the home screen.
Anyone else having the same issue?Then back it up and do a restore. If that does not work and if you are still under warranty, call Apple tech support or take the iPod to your local Apple Store or an AASP.

If your Mac has been installing software updates for a long time, Software Update is probably frozen. Hold the Power button until your MacBook Air turns off, and turn it on again. OS X should start up. -
My music will not sync to my ipod it only says revert and I cant open or play music i purchase on itunes. This problem occured when i updated my ipod.
ThanksI also have a 4G ipod touch and a similar problem. Since I updated to the ios5 software any new songs I add to my iTunes don't sync to my ipod main playlist. They show up in the 'recently added' playlist, but not in the main 'songs' section. I fixed the problem once by restoring to factory settings and rather than reinstalling from a backup, I created a new ipod name and synced everything onto my ipod as if it was new.
This worked until the next new song I added and then the same problem started all over again. If you do reinstall everything as new, you may want to take a screen shot of where all your apps are and make sure all your photos etc are saved, as everything will be from scratch. Hope this helps! -

Hey, I'm having the exact same problem.
I just got my Macbook Pro and I tried to partition/install windows xp the first day I got it. After successfully partitioning my HD, the 50GB partition didn't show up while trying to install the windows platform.
To be a bit more specific, it doesn't even show up in my startup disk in the system preferences menu (if that's any help?)
So after about a week of abandoning my Macbook and going back to my PC I went to the Apple store and someone from the genius bar just told me to reformat the entire thing...so that's what I did and I'm still having the same problem.

I tunes recognizes my i pod but new music will not go on it
All of my music recently disapeared so i had to import all of my songs again and now when i plug my ipod in i tunes recognizes it but new music will not go on my ipod
Try restoring your iPod, this will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions and it should connect to iTunes and give you a prompt to automatically update your library onto the fresh installation: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings

Music will not play during a slideshow launched from Flickr. After choosing music and starting slideshow, the screen says "loading" and it never stops. Under the computers section it says, turn on home sharing in iTunes on the computer with the music library. It is on but apple tv wont recognize it. I've signed out and signed back in over and over and home sharing is on but music wont play. Is this a bug with flickr? Music will play when i launch a slideshow from the iPad but it doesnt have as many cool options for slideshows as flickr does. I want the flickr slideshow to play with music!!! Grrrrrrrr!!!!! Can anyone help???
ok, major miracle. it is now working. here is how i fixed it, and it was a stroke of luck to even find this. opened iTunes, went to edit, then to preferences. box pops up, went to the sharing icon and clicked share my local library on my local network. then scrolled down and checked all the boxes that were applicable. for the heck of it i went through all the other headings to see what else might be hiding from me. i never thought this would do anything but went to ATV, selected flickr, chose some music and wa-la....its playing. also, under the computers heading, it still does not show my iTunes library but clearly its there someplace. oh well, it works...i'm happy! your reply inspired me to keep working so thank you for that!

I have the volume control symbol in the enter of my iPad all of the time. My music will not play and when I try to increase the volume manually, it statics and will not maintain a volume level. Thanks
Try resetting the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons until the Apple Logo appears on the screen. Ignore the red slider if it shows up. You will lose no data.

Email not opening on my iPad2 This is a sudden thing, email had been working fine since purchasing the device then today would not stay open, now it will not open at all. After trying to open mail I receive a white screen for a nano second and the app closes.
Have you tried closing the Mail app completely ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Mail 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
I setup a separate itunes account for my iphone. I put my ipod music onto it. The music will not sync to my iphone. It tells that all info will be lost if I do it. HELP! The music is showing in the library.
you can connect the iPhone to your mac and import those iPhone photos and videos to iPhoto assuming you have iPhoto. You can create a folder and export all those photos to the Finder. Keep safe somewhere. Also keep the iPhoto library for safe keeping. When you restore your iPhone you can sync all those photos back to the iPhone. so you will lose nothing. Just remember when you export from iPhoto select jpeg for photos and original for videos taken with the iPhone.

Have Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. 64 gig. I noticed that my music will not play alphabetically anymore. Don't know exactly when this occured. I checked all my settings so doesn't seem to be that.Apple no longer is upgrading this unit..I use windows XP but don't believe this is an issue since i have read posts saying this is not the problem..right now am converting my higher bit rate music to see if that changes anything. I also turned off my unit and the next thing am going to do is a restore if this doesn't work. Anyone find a fix for this yet? I also see that this is not a unique problem to Gen 2 units and is occuring on newer units as well..thank you all for any advise...

My music will not play on my iPhone 5. It has the upgrade as well as my iTunes on my macbook. But the music will not sync to my iPhone and all music is in my library. What do I need to do?
An exclamation mark means that it doesn't know where you moved the music to. To fix this, click on the exclamation point and when it asks you to browse to the location where you moved it to, use the normal commands to go up and down folders in your external drive until you find the song. Repeat as necessary.

please help, someone that doesn't have the savay on moving music from an old pc to a new pc. Music will not play message comes up and have to search. also purchased music from iPhone and does not show on my music library on PC. This is very frustrating. Thank you
It all depends on exactly how you move the library from one machine to the other. The database holding information about your library is normally in a folder called iTunes, with the media in a subfolder called iTunes Media. In this layout you can usually copy the entire iTunes folder from one machine to the other and it will work. If the media folder is split to a new location however then often the links to tracks will fail on a new computer.
You shoud find that the FindTracks script is able to repair the links in your library.
I'm not sure I know what is going on with the purchased music, however if you enable Edit > Preferences > Store > Automatic Downloads > Music you should be able to recover your past store purchases.

when you connect your iPad to iTunes an iPad tab was appear in left (iTunes 10 or older) or on top right (iTunes 11):
1) In Bottom of this page you have an option to sync "Only checked songs". turn it off if you don't check your files in library.
2) Check the Music tab sttings on this page (included albums for sync).
3) Check the free space on your device! -

It happens when you download from two or more different Apple IDs often. It says you must waut 90 days before you can play it without wifi. So in 90 days, try to download again.

Does anyone know if you're SUPPOSED to have fonts in the User/Library/Fonts folder. I know it sounds like a stupid question but I thought Tiger kept all of its fonts in two places: 1) /Library/Fonts 2) /System/Library/Fonts Thanks for any help. Paul
