If i subscribe to an itune thing is it anonymous?

Hey if I subscribe to a free thing like FRENCH FOR BEGINNERS by The French Ecole or the Kitchen Sink by ARTSEDGE: The Kennedy Center's Arts Education Network...does my email go on a list or something so they know I subscribed and then can contact me or know I have subscribed? I wouldn't mind subscribing if I were anonymous...thanks!

Podcasts aren't really an +iTunes thing+, per se. While iTunes provides a podcast directory, and gives you the ability to subscribe to podcasts, the content is all created and hosted by entities that have nothing to do with Apple. Apple does not share your user information with any of these entities. So in that regard, there is no way that the content provider can get your email address simply because you downloaded and/or subscribed to a podcast in iTunes.

    i kind of saw a term that said :"The iTunes Service is available to you only in the United States, its territories, and possessions.     so does it means it's not legal to access american store if i am not a american? i know it may be legal to purchase music or apps there.But is it exclude subscribe podcast？coz we dont even need an account if we wanna subscribe podcast from itunes store US.

    The iTunes Store does not host podcasts themselves, only links to them, so you can probably find a direct link to any given podcast by searching the web. Then you can see what terms the providers of the podcast has, if any, for who can access it.

    well that is exactly the contrary of what the late Steve Jobs promised in the keynote about iTunes match.

    as I own some 1400+ CDs I thought match would be the solution.
    and I hoped that there would be different match fees - like it is in the cloud.
    I don't want to runt about a deceased persons promises but Apple Inc. should at least try to honor its founders words ....
    if that feature will not be implemented rather sooner than later I will cancel match - it was the only reason why I was waiting for it since the very day of its announcement .

    Connect in recovery mode and restore.
    If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone and iPod touch software.

    Each time I click the View in iTunes botton, I get the following.
    Firefox can't find the file at itms://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/volvo-ocean-race-2008-09/id299240455.
    * Check the file name for capitalization or other typing errors.
    * Check to see if the file was moved, renamed or deleted.
    I use the latest versions of Windows7, Foxfire and iTunes.
    Any idea what the problem can be?

    I'm not sure I totally understand what your problem is, but a couple of things to note...
    1. To get Podcasts to show in your Source list, go to iTunes Preferences, General and put a check next to Podcasts.
    2. Did you download the podcasts from the iTunes Store or from NPR's Web site? Podcasts downloaded from sources other iTunes will usually go into your Music library along with all your music tracks.
    Does that help at all? Not sure what you mean when you say: "When I double click on the podcast at the bottom, it won't play." What window are you in? The bottom of what? Please explain further.

    Has the website been updated since it was created? It would be interesting to see if the way to implement background music has changed.

    Hi there! Do you guys have any idea why itunes in my macbook air is not able to subscribe any podcast at all? My itunes is ver 11.1 - 64 bit and I have tried this attempt with the same podcast, which works on my itunes in my desktop computer. Any idea how to fix it? Thanks!

    On the MB Air launch iTunes then press Command ,  (comma) to open iTunes Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
    Click:  Reset Warnings & Reset Cache
    Quit and relaunch iTunes then try subscribing to a podcast.

    My ipod classic stopped being recognized by itunes and my laptop after I paid the $25 bucks and my library was matched to the Cloud.  Did this disable my iPod Classic at the same time?  I didn't see a warning about this possible consequence.  If true, can it be reversed?

    If you mean the "iTunes Match" service, no.  That is, just subscribing and having it match or upload your iTunes music library into iCloud does not disable anything that previously synced with your local iTunes library on your Mac.
    However, if you set up iTunes Match, put your music library into iCloud to make it available from your other computers and iOS devices, and then manually deleted all of your song files stored locally on your computer's drive, then yes.  iPods (that are not iPod touch) cannot sync with your songs in your iTunes library, unless the song files are store locally on the computer's drive.
    If this is the case. you can "reverse" it by downloading the songs that you put on your iPod from iCloud. 

  • After upgrading to 10.5.1 and subscribing to Match, iTunes crashes

    I upgraded to iTunes 10.5.1 (on an iMac 27 i5), subscribed to Match and let it grind for awhile. After completing the first two steps (of three) iTunes crashed.     If you are talking about the warranty from Apple that would have expired when your iPhone hit the water. So it doesn't matter. Just take it to Apple and purchase an out of warranty replacement for it.
