It won't delete anything in your iTunes library on your computer but you would lose access to anything in your iTunes Match library that isn't stored in your iTunes library on your computer. You would obviously need to sync your music to your phone from your computer using iTunes again.

ITunes match is only attached to Apple id that you used to subscribe.

Recently got a new iPod Touch 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod after multiple attempts, despite all songs showing properly on the Mac and multiple syncs occurring after all songs were properly reflected on the Mac. I updated iTunes Match from the iTunes Store menu as well pre-sync.
I should mention that I had previously had the library on a Dell (which is still running) and shared it on my home network. While all iTunes purchases now show in the Dell, the Mac is the device I use for all syncs.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the iCloud physical sync failure - some songs were legacy, some were purchased via the PC, some on the old iPod.
The Mac shows all the songs correctly and none show iCloud status -all have been downloaded, but the downloaded songs that were previously showing up as iCloud based aren't syncing to the iPod.
Is there any way to force all music being seen by my iPod as iCloud to download to so I can listen to them offline? Is there a way to force the sync from iTunes?The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts. Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone. -

I bought a 128GB iPhone so I would have room for all my music. Now it's not actually there because I subscribe to iTunes Match. I don't want to have to download it over wifi/cell to listen to it. Should I just unsubscribe from iTunes Match? I don't use if very often.
Do you have another device (eg a computer) that also contains your music? If so, yes, you can turn off iTunes match and sync everything with a cable. Do you tend to buy new music from downloads or ripping CDs? If downloads, you can turn on "download purchases automatically" on the phone to make them available to you there, once you've cable-synced your current library. If CDs, you would have to manually sync with cable (or over local wifi) each time you add a new CD.

Now that I have subscribed to iTunes Match and synched my phone, I'm assuming that my 6.9GB of music and 2.3 GB of videos are stored in the cloud and accessible to my phone for listening or watching. Can I now delete them from my phone so that I regain the 9.2GB of storage space?
Go to Settings > General > Usage, select Music, then Edit. There will be a delete option there. It may take a few minutes to delete if you have a large collection on your iPhone.

Yes, it will use cellular data. If you know that you are going to out of wifi range, you can predownload some music whilst you have a wifi connection.

I suggest that you open iTunes and hold shift key whilst signing out of match. Now close iTunes and reboot computer. Launch iTunes and then turn on match. You will be asked to add this computer. Do so. Let match process complete.

I mean... I don't wan to start paying a service, to find out later, that half of my library doesn't match or something like that and will be left out. I've never bought a single song from iTunes (maybe just a couple...) all my music was added from imported CD's or downloaded and added to iTunes from the internet, so I'm afraid most of it won't will be matched or recognized by iTunes...
If somebody knows a way to "test" your library to find out how much of it is compatible with iTunes, i will be very thankfull.I didn't say "re-create" I said "restore from a backup." Restoring from a backup will place all the files just as they were right back where they need to be. This includes the .itl, .itdb ad .xml files iTunes needs to recognize that the files on the internal HDD are the same as the files in the cloud.
You do have a backup, don't you? If you don't then I strongly recommend you start backing up immediately.
If all else fails you can email iTunes Store support and ask them to reset your iTunes Match DB on the server. This will require your iTunes to go through the entire scan, match and upload process as if it were the first time. -
Is there anything i'm missing? should i just wait? before i turned itunes match off i had a problem before where the icloud download button was greyed out so i couldn't download them to my computer.

On the support pages, there's only instructions to permanently remove songs from the ICloud or Itunes, and it says once you do it, they can't be recovered. I would like to so precisely that with some hideous purchases that keep showing up on my phone as downloadable from the Icloud even when I "hid" those purchases, and it annoyes me since I don't want to listen to those songs ever again in my life. Can somebody help me please? Let's remember the main issue here is that I'm not subscribed to Itunes match, and I don't want to subscribe to it. Is there any way to permanently delete those songs from my account without having to subscribe to Itunes match? Thank you.

ITunes Match and the magical disappearing explicit tags
So, after doing a spring (winter?) clean of my iTunes library today, there seems to be a bit of tension between iTunes Match and Explicit tags on tracks.
I'm obsessive with my library and add lyrics via Get Lyrical, use a script to search my iTunes library for specific profanities that outputs them into a playlist then use MetaX to tag all songs in that playlist with the explicit tag. As a student of radio, sometimes, it's just easier to check for tags that drive through yrics for profanity and songs that are airable.
However, for whatever reason, as soon as iTunes Match updates the library with the server, all explicit tags are removed except for those that are downloaded from the store with the tags already added (which is an annoyance in itself because Apple see fit to mark an entire album as explicit even if a specific track is clean and safe for air). Removing the explicit tags will find it readded after the iCloud sync.
All other elements of manual metadata are safe; purchase date, release date, copyright. It just doesn't like explicit tags - hoping it'll get fixed in a future update.My library has just over 10,000 songs in it. 95% came from my CD's that I ripped myself, plus some that I recorded directly to the computer from cassette or record (yes, I actually did that!). I recently subscribed to iTunes match and other than about 100 songs, they all matched correctly. I was very meticuous about my tagging so my library was very clean. Not sure if that matters as I understand they use a digital matching scheme rather than based on tagging, but regardless, I am very pleased with the final result.
