I bought my i Pad mini in Mexico City, Mexico, Please let me know, If I travel abroad with my i Pad, will local Apps of the countries I travel to will be available to me? or am I restricted to only use the Apps for Mexico???

You will only be able to buy/download from the Mexican store whilst you are in Mexico. If you want to buy/download apps from the store in the country that you travel to then you will need an account in that country - so you will either need to update your billing address and country on your existing account, or create a new account with your billing address in that country.

That's so you can text with your thumbs. If it does' tog back together automatically put your finger on the tiny typewriter and you should get a pop up to reconnect keyboard. Or more easily put a finger on each one and pop them together.

How easy it is travel abroad with the Verizon model of the new iPad?

On the specs listed on Apple's site for the new iPad, it lists GSM frequencies under Verizon model as well !!!
I am sure that one can't use AT&T SIM on the Verizon model, something must have been locked to prevent that.
But does anyone know how easy it is to pop in a foreign country 3G GSM micro-sim when travelling abroad into the new model Verizon iPad?
I have already ordered an AT&T model, but later realized that even the Verizon model shows GSM capabilities. If I could find conclusively about the foreign 3G GSM freedom on Verizon, I will definitely exchange my AT&T model for a Verizon one.

I don't think CDMA uses SIM card at all, hence no SIM slot in ipad 2 VZ model.
But LTE requires a SIM card, the VZ model of the ipad 3 is forced to have a SIM slot.

It's good (I am hoping truly that's the case) that Apple also allowed 3G GSM capability, this means one can pop out the VZ LTE micro-SIM and pop in any 3G micro-SIM.
I think there might be some lines of code from Apple to at least prevent an AT&T micro-SIM to work on a VZ ipad 3 just to prevent VZ from getting upset.
But other 3G micro-SIM's should work on VZ model. We can only find out on the 16th.

IMessage and travelling abroad with iPhone

I have a question for those who have travelled internationally with their AT&T iPhone.
Am I correct in assuming that as long as I’m connected to wifi, I can still have iMessage text conversations with other iOS5 users back in the United States, without being billed for anything? Are there any tips you can offer for people traveling internationally on vacation with iOS5 other than that? I’m sure I’ll be on airplane mode when wandering away from the hotel wifi.

All iMessage requires is an internet connection which can be wi-fi only.
Turn Cellular Data off and you can enable Airplane mode followed by turning wi-fi access on. All other iPhone radios will be off except for wi-fi.

If you buy it whilst in the US, then no.
Unless it's unlocked.
If you buy unlocked, you can use it anywhere.

Hello. Going to Japan in the fall for 3 weeks and am looking into to travel packs through Rogers (Canada). They seem expensive! May or may not not bother - not sure yet. Just wondering, if you turn off data roaming and disable 3g, you should be able to use WiFi still...I tried it out in my house and it worked.
I notice however, when i disable 3G and data roaming the Rogers logo STILL shows. i'm thinking because it must be working on Edge. Sooooo, if you turned off roaming and disabled 3G, used wifi, would you STILL get roaming charges as it appears you can't turn off edge networks.

When in Japan, turning off 3G and data roaming prevents access to all cellular networks, Rogers or Japanese, but i could still make and receive phone calls? It would be at a huge cost though i imagine??

To avoid data or internet access via a carrier's cellular data or internet network when roaming internationally turn data roaming off, which should be off by default, and turn cellular data access off. This will prevent data or internet access via a cellular network when roaming internationally but this will not prevent you from receiving or placing calls and the same for SMS/MMS when roaming internationally. To prevent any cellular activity - placing or receiving calls, the same for SMS/MMS, and internet access via a cellular network when roaming internationally, turn Airplane mode on first followed by turning on wi-fi access. This will provide for connecting to the internet via an available wi-fi network only and prevent any international roaming charges for calls, SMS/MMS, and for data/internet access via a cellular network when roaming internationally.

Well, assuming all of the above, Notifications, etc., it just might be time for a visit to the Apple tore genius center for a session with the techs. See if it is a fault in the hardware or just an iOS reinstall is the answer.
One more thing you could try, backup so you have a record of content, then restore to factory conditions be an Erase All Contents and Settings. Then restore from the backup you just made. That has helped some with WiFi problems, may be it would work with your problems.
But with that behavior of another app with problems, the geniuses looks like a less stressful thing to do.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
