You then will have to determine how important that application to you and if there is a replacement version that runs under Mavericks.
There is an alternative that you might consider which is partitioning your HDD with one for Snow Leopard and the other for Mavericks. To execute this in the best possible way may require a larger HDD for your MBP. HDDs are now available up to 1.5 TB in capacity.

always backup vital data before ANY big OS install. But no, even then your data is NOT erased with Mavericks.
You backup your data due to safety, of course. Always have a backup, preferably 2 of your important data, regardless, and certainly before a large OS install. -

I have a 10.6.8 OS and want to upgrade to Mountain Lion but when I try the applications tells me my computer can't support it. What does that mean. I have upgraded to Snow Leopard and was told (by Mac Store) that after that I would be able to update to Mountain Lion.

Having installed an upgrade for Photoshop Elements 13, I cannot open the application. I get an error message saying "Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor cannot be opened because of a problem. Check with the developer to make sure Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. I have since uninstalled and reinstalled the app, but get the same error message.Which version of OS X do you have? It's not clear from your post whether "installed an upgrade" means you just installed PSE 13 as an upgrade or you installed an update to PSE 13, like ACR 9 or 13.1. Please clarify.

My iphone 4s will not switch on. Supposidly it has been "charging" all day and stll it does not have enough life to switch on. Rang Apple this morning and they will replace the phone under warrenty free of charge. Only problem is with this being my first Apple product i didnt realise my phone did not automatically back up on itunes or icloud as i had to set this up.
Now i am trying desperately to get my phone to switch on so that i can save all of the baby pictures of my 7 month old son and its not working. i have tried to reset the phone but it does nothing!!

It is unlikely that they will replace as it is damaged. The only way to find out is to make an appointment at the genius and and see what they say. -
I own photoshop cs5 extended but now have win8. can i upgrade to cc at reduced price to cc or do i need to purchase it at full price? I don't need cloud but will use the pc for install.
There is no such thing as a "pay once, use forever CC". It's strictly a subscription model that you can use as long as you pay for it. Your CS5 will give you a discount for the first year.

I have an application on 4 computers. On 3, PDF files open as they should, withing the application. On the fourth the file is placed in "downloads" and then opens in a separate tab on the desktop(not inside the application). Any ideas on settings that might be causing this? It happens whether the application starts in IE11, Google Chrome or Firefox.
This happens whether the "client" signs in over the internet or directly to the local host server.

If I upgrade my Mac OS to Mavericks, will I need to re-install separate software like Office for Mac?
Anything is possible, so I would do the following:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Backup your current system to an external hard drive. If you already have a backup system, then be sure the backup is after the above. -
Migration Assistant has been running since yesterday evening. My Dell is now telling me that its trying to reconnect to my Mac and to ensure they are both using the same network. I have an Ethernet cable plugged in them and they are both on the same WiFi. What can I do?

And offcourse that I delete my files and documents is not an Iweb problem, but because my English is not that good, that I thougt I try to tell the whole story, and hope people can read trough the lines.
Why I didn't use Iweb to upload to the server is because the server company recommanded to use file zilla. And I am a nobody with this kind of things, so I did exactly what they tell me to do.
No, i did not make a backup of Iweb and the domain file, but reading other messages on this forum showed me that I can maybe try to make empty the cashfile (?)
and otherwise I have bad luck and have to make my website again. Offcourse I have a lot of examples from all the pages (copied from the local map to my USB stick) and my website is aprox. 15 Mb, (not so big) so it will cost me a few nigths.
But I'm still hoping on a miracle :-)

You have Mac OS X 10.6.8. The application requires Mac OS X 10.7 or later.
but to update to 10.7 I need the mac app store other than that I am fully upgraded.
I reinstalled from my latest cd 10.6 upgrade then ran software update to get the app store but it won't open with the message above I edited the minimum version in the info.plist just in case but that seems to have had no effect

By the way... v10.7 Lion is not available from the App Store any longer.

You can upgrade directly from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion v10.8 if your Mac qualifies > Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.
