If i upgrade to 10.9 will i still be able to use CS4?
if i upgrade to 10.9 will i still be able to use CS4?
There is no guarantee that software will always perform as expected with any OS because of conflicts between different programs installed on the same drivce.

I have Windows XP Pro as my Bootcamp option under Snow Leopard which works very well indeed.
I would like to upgrade to Lion but am concerned re its lack of support for Bootcamp Windows XP
Can I upgrade to Lion and boot into my old Windows XP BootCamp partition as I do at present OR
must I buy Windows v7 and install under the new Bootcamp system.
Also what happens to my Snow Leopard Time Machines backups - can I see them under Lion?
Many thanks

I am now running on OS X Snow Leopard. If I upgrade to Mountain Lion, will all my files and data and bought programs disappear?
As Austin Kinsella1 says, it's a good idea to check your program versions.
I have found this site really helpful with that:

By upgrading to Mountain Lion will 1333mhz ram be recognized?
Installed 8gb/1333mhz ram running snow leopard and it would crash at boot screen. Did some research and saw my mac cant handle that and I really would like to be running 8gb, so before exchanging the ram I was curious if by upgrading to Mountain Lion, will the system then recognize and not crash with the 8gb/1333mhz ram???
Your MBP is supposed to be using PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz ram. Macs are extremely sensitive to their memory and repeatedly have problems with ram that is not exactly in spec. Using ram rated at a higher speed will not run faster, and in fact will not boot in most cases.
You need to send the memory back and get the correct ram for that machine, check the Mac specialists such as OWC and Crucial for memory that is guaranteed to work. -
I have not upgraded to Mountain Lion yet, have 3 major apps (acrobatpro) and adobe image ready, and apple works that is not compatible, does anyone know how long snow leopard will be supported. Don't want to upgrade until I purchase new iMac next year.
Consider running your Adobe and AppleWorks software in Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed in Parallels in Lion or Mt. Lion:

I want to upgrade my machine with 16 GB RAM, it already has a G.Skill single RAM chip of 8gb. need help with the following. Will upgrading to 16Gb RAM on a Early 2011 2.7 Ghz i7 Macbook 13" cause any problem? Also i plan to upgrade to Mountain Lion, will it work?
It won't cause you any issues or problems....
it is however, suggested you install the same brand RAM that are of the same specs....
1333MHz........
Installing different brands with different CL speed might cause issues....
so if you already have a G.Skill RAM installed, then install the same brand. -
If I upgrade to Mountain Lion, will my Windows based apps still work or will I need to reinstall them?
As I said, the Windows applications are running in the virtual machine, using the Windows system. It is not directed affected by upgrading Mac OS X to Mountain Lion. So you should not need to re-install anything that runs in the Windows virtual machine.
The real question is, does Parallel Desktop, which is the Mac OS X application, work properly under Mountain Lion? You should go to
http://www.parallels.com/products/desktop/
and make sure you are using the latest version that has been updated to work with Mountain Lion. -
Will I still be able to use ilife, iwork or any of my applications after the upgrade to Maverick? I currently have version 10.6.8. Thanks!
The ONLY stuff that should give you trouble is anything that requires Roestta to run. iLife apps can be upgraded for free, and iWork 09 should still run. Office 2011 and Adobe Creative Suite CS5 and CS6 run like before on my Mini.

If I upgrade to Mavericks from Snow Leopard will I still be able to use Microsoft office??
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Only if you have Office 2008 or 2011. Older Office versions are PowerPC apps, so they no longer work with Mavericks.
If you are running Office 2008 or 2011, open any Office app, go to Help menu (in the menu bar) > Check for Updates, and install the latest version.
If you are using an older Office version, uninstall it and install another application:
Upgrade to Office 2008 or 2011 by buying it from the Microsoft website.
Install Apple iWork applications after upgrading to OS X Mavericks.
Install LibreOffice > http://www.libreoffice.org.
Remember to make a backup of your files with Time Machine before upgrading. -

If I choose "restore from iTunes backup" to move everything from old iphone to a new one, will I still be able to use the old phone for music and apps? Can the old phone be docked up to that same computer every now and then? Or will the new and old phone overwrite each other in some way? In other words, are the two phones treated as different devices when the "restore" option is used to set up the new phone? Thanks in advance.
Yes, you can use the old iPhone as an iPod touch.

If i buy an iphone with a bad esn, will i still be able to use the apple appstore?
1. If I buy an iphone with a bad esn, will i still be able to use the apple app store?
2. Searching craigslist, it looks like iphones with a bad esn are cheaper than buying an ipod. If it's the same functionality, then is there a downside to getting an iphone with a bad esn instead of an ipod touch?
ThanksActually, you can in fact restore it or re-activate it using iTunes. A bad ESN just means it can't ne activated for phone service, but it can still be used as a touch. Phones with bad ESN's are not necessarily stolen, if the owner/account holder fails to pay their bill, the carrier will list with a bad ESN.
