In order to run Windows Applications, you must own the applications and, since they require Windows, you must own Windows. There are technologies like wine that will allow Windows applications to run without Windows, but they tend to be flakey at best.

I am trying to build by own custom PC and make it easily upgradable in the future.
I am not sure what to get for the OS. I heard that Installing:
Windows 7 home premium sp1 64-bit (oem) system Builder
will tie with all my hardware indefinitely (that is my mobo, hard drive, processor, graphic card.etc..).
So in the near future if I want to change out my GPU or CPU can i swap it out without a problem?
or HD will i need to by another win 7 OS system builder or can i reinstall my already bought OS without a problem

I dont want to buy a $400 dollar for a retail OS...its $300 to much then im already spending for my current setup. And I dont want to buy another pre-built PC cause working on swapping any of their parts will void warranties if swamping can be done in the

I think if you thinking about Microsoft support , they have a lot of option, forum is always open to help. I don't know what kind of support that you expect. For me, I prefer online support, so I can learn something from my issue and
its free. TS for OS issue, you still can do it by yourself, some forum member, MVP or moderator will give you the step to fix this issue. And the ultimate thing we do to eliminate OS issue if some step didn't help is restore or reformat only. -

Received it today, reading outer box label it says "OEM System Builders Pack, intended for system builders ONLY, below that it says "if the individual software license is for a desktop operating system or application software, it must be preinstalled on the hard drive of the fully assembled computer system, using the OEM preinstallation kit (OPK).
The preinstallation kit does not apply to server software."
Is this going to work for me, do i have to download or buy the "OEM Preinstallation kit"?
ThanksWindows 7 OEM is a full version of the OS but is sold primarily for "system builders," and that includes anyone who rebuilds his or her own system. You can install it and use it just like the regular version and you *do not* need the OEM pre-installation kit to do it. Just insert the DVD and let it do its thing. The installation should take about 20 minutes and is automated, just follow instructions on the screen. However, be advised that the OEM version does not include support from Microsoft. This is the main difference between the OEM version and the regular version. I recently rebuilt my older Dell PC, put in new hard drive and installed Win 7 OEM with no trouble at all. Win 7 does make a record of the specifications of your motherboard and cannot be installed on another computer.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.
You can restore from a backup if you have one from BEFORE you set the restrictions passcode.

I'm not sure if iTunes is compatible with my computer operating system because when I try to install it, it says the installation is completed but it says there was an error so it won't let me get itunes! Natalie.I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode. Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed. I forget what those tests were called.
I am really beginning to think I have a bad HDD and the problem just happens to be in the reserved partition where my factory system software resides. -

i bought adobe creative suite premium actual cds, with serial yet when i put its serial in to redeem it and download it onto my new mac through your adobe site it says on your site it says my serial is invalid, when my serial is not, it is clear you adobe advertise you can use your old software on new apple computers but clearly this is not the case; forcing me and all to shell out vast amours of money just to use your products i have already bought????.......i will never buy your product again!!!!

It could be bad headphones. Try another pair. It could be gunk in the headphone jack. Try cleaning it out. It could be a bad headphone jack. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store.

You Mac most likely sat in inventory before it was sold so the latest drivers were not installed.
