If I were to exchange my iPhone 5 for a new one, will I be able to get it immediately on the spot?

Having some issues with the wake/sleep button and I'm thinking of getting it exchanged for a new set in Singapore. However I'm living in Malaysia and I would like to know how long would the replacement process be. Thanks!

An iPhone is supported only in the country in which the iPhone was originally sold. If you are living in a country other than the one in which you purchased the iPhone, you will not be able to get service there. You will need to take the iPhone back to its original country or send it to someone you know there to get it replaced.
As to the process, that will depend on the country of sale and from where you purchased the iPhone. If you can clarify that, we can provide more specfic information.
Regards.

  • I want to exchange my iPhone 5 for a new one, but I bought it online from the factory (unlocked), how do I do this? Can I go to a retail store? or Should I send it back by mail?

So I bought this iPhone 5 probably a year ago now, and I want to exchange it for a new iPhone 5, or if possible an iPhone 5s (if they don't have iPhone 5 anymore), idk.
EITHER WAY, I've read in the web a little about this and apparently I can't do it via going to a physical retail store. Or can I?
ps: on a side note, I heard I need to pay a $50 dollars fee in order to use my AppleCare + warranty, the "exchange your iPhone for a new one" one.
But a friend here in Mexico actually just exchanged his and they didn't charged him a thing. Is this also the same in the US? Can I exchange it here in Mexico? Or what are my options here, since I bought it from Apple.com/online?

The program is for replacement since Apple does not repair iDevices...you take your non-working or damaged iPhone to an Apple store genius bar, or send to Apple service, and they provide a refurbished unit as a replacement, for a fee, of course.  You will have to talk with Apple to see if you get all components or just the iPhone replaced.
With AppleCare+ you can have two out-of-warranty replacements for a cost of $49 each.

  • Can I exchange my iPhone 5 for a new one?

I bought my iPhone 5 the day it came out (September 20, 2013) so I have had it for a little more than two years and it still works perfectly. I was just wondering how upgrades work in terms of me being able to trade in my iPhone 5 for a more recent model like the iPhone 6 and when and if I am able to do it. I haven't been to an Apple store in a while and I haven't had the time to, although I would imagine they would be able to answer my question easily.
    Thank you.

To add to what AnyPats stated, Apple DOES (on occasion) purchase older devices for store credit (amount depending on the condition and memory size of the device).  You would need to visit a retail store to see if your phone would be accepted.

  • I just exchanged a faulty iPhone 4 for a new one, when I got home to restore it, iCloud says "cannot restore backup". Can somebody please help provide much needed advice? Thanks in advance!

Yep, that's the only message that popped out. Nothing else. Yes, it's running on the latest ios and I still can't restore it. I called apple and they told me it's probably something wrong with their servers. Anyway thanks for the advice.

  • Can i exchange my ipod 5 for a new one

because my ipod 5 is very laggy and my battery drain very fast i have to charge it 2-3 time a day so can apple exchange my ipod 5 for a new one?and do i have to pay? im under warranty.

    Exchange an item policy:
If you purchased your item from Apple in the U.S., you can take it to any U.S. Apple Retail Store for an exchange. Item exchanges are, of course, subject to in-store product availability. It's a good idea to check in-stock availability by calling the Apple Retail Store, or by viewing the product on the Apple Online Store to see if the item is available for pick up locally. Personalized items and custom-configured Macs may not be eligible for exchange at an Apple Retail Store.
Items ordered on the U.S. Apple Online Store that arrived damaged or are incorrect can be returned to any U.S. Apple Retail Store, or by contacting Customer Service at 1-800-676-2775.

  • If i have an app on my iphone that i got on iTunes using my same apple ID, will I be able to get it off of the App store from my Mac?

If i have an app on my iphone that i got on iTunes using my same apple ID, will I be able to get it off of the App store from my Mac?

Some developers have created both an  iOS and a Mac OS X version of their app, but you will need to buy each one separately from their respective app stores. Buying one version does not give you the other version for free, unless they are free apps.

  • I want to change my iphone 5 for a new one i wanna know if u guys replace it

I would like to exchange my old iphone 5 for a new one

Why do you want to replace it? Is is defective? If there is a legitimate defect, Apple will replace it via warranty after evaluation. If you want to return the phone, I believe you have 30 days from the date of purchase to return it.
If you want to exchange it, sell your phone and buy another.

  • Can i turn my iphone in for a newer one?

i need to know if i can turn in my iphone for a newer one and how much more it would cost

Contact your wireless carrier, or use Apple's recycling program, or sell it to someone else. The cost of doing this varies.

  • Can i exchange my iphone 4 for a new iphone 4 ... my old one has some scratches on the side and i would be willing to pay extra for the phone as long as the plan stays

my iphone which i got last summer has some scratches on the side (but no damages internally) and i was wondering if i could buy a newer iphone 4 by paying a little extra?

Apple does not offer an exchange program.
Physical damage (scratches) are not covered under the warranty.
If you desire a blemish free iPhone, buy a new one at full price then sell your current one to recoup some of the costs.

  • Is it possible to exchange a broken (on the inside) iphone 5 for a new one for a small price?, Is it possible to exchange a broken (on the inside) iphone 5 for a new one for a small price?

Mine won't answer, it wont turn on, i tried asking a specialist and he said apple used to exchange recent iphones for second-hand ones for around 300€. Is it still the case?

    That is one option.
If no longer under warranty, another option is taking it to an independent cell phone repair shop.
Another option is trying to sell it as is and use the proceeds to purchase a new iPhone.

  • Exchange damaged iPhone 6 with a new one

Hey, I was wondering if I can change my iPhone 6 which is damaged due to being dropped on asphalt and having a crack on half of the screen to a new one, when i'm on a plan with Telstra. Cheers

If you have StayConnect you might be able to be covered for damaged caused by dropping but generally speaking unless you have opted for StayConnected or have it otherwise insured then the phone would not be covered for user caused damage.
If you have StayConnected you can call the StayConnected team and arrange the replacement with them (132200 and say "Stay Connected")
If you do not you can recontract your plan to get a new device on a new plan however you would have to pay a $50 early recontracting fee and pay out any remaining costs associated with the current phone or any accessories.

  • Can I change my iPhone 5 for a new one if it's still under warranty??

Hey guys, I am with AT&T since november 2012...I am on a 2 year contract and got an iPhone 5...I am really enjoying the phone and iOS in general.
I have a question if I can exchange my current iPhone 5 for a brand new iPhone 5...I am still under 1 year factory warranty.
I was at my friends house one day...and by accident my phone fell from a 5th floor...it got a few dings...around the metal plated area...and I got really lucky because the phone lended on a grass...but some mud got stuck in a speaker area and the headphone jack area...

not the warranty. apple care+ is 99$ purchased within the first 30 days of the phones purchase date.
it covers up to 2 instances of physical/liquid damage for $50. doesn't cover theft/lost
the warranty covers hardware damage such as a perfectly good apple phone home button not responding. that's on apple, so they replace it. but if you drop it and cause the damage. that's either your problem, oooooor hopefully you have insurance.

  • Ive lost my iphone cant afford a new one is there anyay i can get my pictures of icloud on to my computer

ive lost my iphone is there anyway i can get my pictures of icloud to my laptop

    That depends.
    Were you using iCloud?
Did you have Photo Stream enabled?
If you answered yes to both questions, then you may be able to retrieve some photos from Photo Stream.
Photo Stream photos are only stored on the server for 30 days so you will only be able to retieve the last 30 days of photos.
Do you have a PC or Mac?

  • If I change my Apple password as a security precaution because my phone has been lost and switched off, will Find My iPhone still function? That is, will it be able to connect to iCloud, as the password on the phone is still the old one.

My phone is lost – not stolen, and may still be returned. Not long after I lost it, it was switched off, or died (it was at about 6%), so I can't find it using Find My iPhone. I realized I should change all my important passwords, as the passcode can be compromised by various methods. One password I changed was for my Apple account.
Now I'm realizing that I shouldn't have done that. What if the phone comes back online – but my AppleID password has changed; will the phone still be able to connect to Apple with the old credentials so my message is sent?
When I realized this I tried to go back to my old password – but Apple won't let me use one I used in the last year. Any way around this?

when you change your Apple iD it's pretty much changing the visual email, i guess that doesn't really answer your question, yes you keep your purchases, it just changes the log-in email and email where newsletters , etc. go to.

  • If i set up my Iphone 5S as a new phone will I be able to restore it with the backed up files later?

I am trying to sync music from my itunes account and I cannot do it.  I have read multiple suggestions to restore iphone 5s factory settings and it will work but
I am concerned that I will lose everything on my phone.  If I do this, can I restore using the back up on my IMac?  I am running Itunes 11.1.4 and the IMac is running OS X 10.6.8 , the Iphone is running 7.0.4.  Any suggestions would be greatly apreciated.

If you didn't choose to transfer an iCloud backup with the setup assistant after the welcome screen at the Verizon Store, nothing was transferred to your iPhone at that time. Visual voicemail messages are stored on Verizon servers and re-downloaded.
If you restored your iPhone with iTunes on your computer when returning from the Verizon Store, did you choose from the backup of your previous iPhone? You can't know what was available on your new iPhone after restoring it with iTunes if the welcome screen doesn't go away after doing so.
You can try restoring the iPhone with iTunes again from the backup of your previous iPhone which I assume is what you want to do. Not sure why Verizon would transfer anything to your new iPhone when you have a backup for your previous iPhone.
