There are no trade ins.
You can bring an old ipod in to Apple and they will have it recycled and they will give you a 10% discount on a new one for doing this.

How do I get my photos off 1st generation itouch? I have macbook pro, ipad, iphone. Itouch syncs but does not have option to share in any capacity ie send via email, etc. Also, the computer from which photos were originally taken from has crashed.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Did you fail to back up your pics?
The photo sync is one way - comptuer to ipod.
You can e-mail them to yourself (instructions in the manual), but they will not be of the original quality. -
I have an itouch that will not let me sign in to my itunes account. The email address that it is associated with is no longer valid. I keep entering the correct password but it says that it is incorrect. I can’t get a reset all of my credentials don’t work. Now all my apps won’t work. it looks like they load for half a second then disappear. What can I do?

My daughter accidentally dumped my iTouch into the bath tub. It is ruined. How can I receive my one time regrant to get back the 80 plus songs I purchased and downloaded on iTunes? You can redownload the songs as many times as you want, the "one time regrant" no longer exists. Make sure you are using the same apple id on both your dead itouch and your iphone 4. On your iphone 4 go to the itunes app > Purchased (may be under more based on your settings) at the top click not on this iphone, click all songs then click the little cloud next to each song you want to redownload. It will prompt you for your id and password and the begin your download

My iTouch 4thG first was not being recognized by my iTunes, so I couldn't sync my ipod. After trying to restore, like it told me too, the process froze not too long after beginning. The progress bar on iTunes gets maybe 1/8 of the way before it stops. I tried everything iTunes support told me to, but nothing works. The restore process either freezes or will not begin at all & shows and error message with the error code 21. iTouch has been unusable for the past 2 days, I have tried everything! Please help!!

The button is unhighlighted as well therefore it won't even let me fix it or choose a wifi network-any network!!!!!! So i can't access NOTHING!!!! Our other new itouch's work fine (im using one right now lol lol) so it isnt my wifi/router.... My itouch is old lol, I've had it for 4 or 5 years and it's cracked up etc...lol lol. But it still works great, however, it was out of commission for the past 5 months cuz my computer was not working to sync it and it wanted me to "connect to itunes" and i couldnt at the time...(plug it in to sync).... And now my computer and iTunes are working and the itunes software is updated as well. So i have synced my itouch and said itouch is working and restored however it will not allow me to access my wifi settings. The button is unaccessable and unhighlighted as i have stated above already and am in the process of syncing and restoring said itouch again!!! Which should take another full day or two lol lol omg!!!

What would happen if I added the itouch email to the add accounts on my iphone and confirmed that email address? Would only my iphone get both (itouch and iphone) messages? or will my itouch then also get my iphone messages as well??

When I click on the button to download the new IOS software, I get a message saying that all the items on my iTouch will be removed. Will I have to reload everything after updating the software? Because I had to have my hard drive wiped a while back, I have items on my iTouch that are not in my iTunes. Is there a way to copy everything on the iTouch into iTunes, if necessary, before I load the new software?
It is possible to transfer purchases from your iPod back into iTunes before updating the OS. If you had any CDs from your personal collection, these you have to put back into iTunes manually. Hope this helps you & good luck!

Very likely never.
It has already received several updates since it was released 3 years ago - ios 5 and ios 6
It simply does not have the hardware to handle anything more than that. -
when i get my itouch repaired if i lose anything will the iCloud will be able to sync back my apps and music back on, if so how?
Create an iCloud backup before sending it in for repair. Also consider making a second backup on your computer using iTunes (connect it to your computer, open iTunes, click on the name of your iPod in iTunes, go to the Summary tab of your iTunes sync settings and click Back Up Now. Also go to File>Devices>Transfer purchases). If you have photo stream photos that you want to save, save them to your camera roll before backing up and they will be backed up too.
When you get it back from repair, restore the backup as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766. Your iPod should then look just as it does now. -

i have the first generation ipod touch and the place on my ipod where you charge it broke so you can not plug it in. i bough almost all of my songs on my itouch and just got a new computer and was going to put all my songs onto my new laptop but the charging place wont let me do it. my ipod is not charged so i cant use it and i bought alot of money's worth of songs and there and can not afford to buy all the songs again. i just got a new ipod but i need to get my old songs onto my itunes. how can i get my songs back?

Doesn't matter if the laptop is new, your account is not new.
Download iTunes 10.3.1 (current) when installed click on the 'purchased' link in the sidebar then click on 'download previous purchases' (lower lefthand corner of page) and download them again.
