Original Question:  if icloud is not on my computer will that affect login into icloud through my iphone 4s
On my iphone, a dialog box appears asking for user login to icloud-- ENTER USER   "password".   After  I attempt to login  in to icloud the dialog box re-appears asking for AGAIN user password login and  will not remove from  main screen.
My first thought was (my iphone does not have wifi connection) to connect to wifi because the user login is not connecting  permitting login to be accepted.  I selected cancel to bypass the dialog box asking for user Login password to icloud  in order to remove it from the home screen.    I attempt to go to wifi settings. The dialog box will re- appear preventing from SELECTING wifi settings because the dialog box does not give enough time to remove itself from main screen in order to  change wifi settings in which to allow wifi.
Additionally, my thought it is the correct Login password being enter because when online at the icoud login page asking for username and password, both are accepted and allow access.
Also, one thought to the issue, after opening iTunes it has stated that my icloud session has expired. My intentions at this moment are  not to purchase a subscription to icloud at this time. Although i would like to access the account later on, if there wouldn't be conditional problems with iclouds at a later point in time, then there would not be any concerns deleting the icloud account in order to remove the icloud dialog box.  However, i would consider deleting acct as a last step.

    SO AFTER ATTEMPTING TO TROUBLESHOOT THE I -CLOUD  ISSUE ON THE PHONE

    I unplugged the cord that went from the printer to the computer to another canon printer to see if I could remediate a problem with a wireless printer.
    When I plugged the computer cord back into the usual computer, the printer is no longer talking to the computer even though I have gone in and changed back the settings, and it has been the default printer - that was not changed.
    I've tried all the trouble-shooting suggestions to no avail.

    Reinstalling the latest drivers for the printer from the Canon USA website may resolve the issue you are experiencing.   Please click here to go to the Drivers and Software page for the PIXMA MX850.  Once on the download page, please do the following:
    1. Verify that the operating system detected in the "OPERATING SYSTEM" drop-down menu is correct, and if it is not, please click the drop-down menu to select your operating system.
    2. Next, please click on the red arrow next to the "DRIVERS" section and click on the MP DRIVERS file. When you do, a red DOWNLOAD button will appear. Please click on the checkbox below the DOWNLOAD button, then click the red DOWNLOAD button to begin the download. The time for the download process may vary depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file being downloaded.

    The intent of having them on the cloud is for backup. If you want to feel safer and just for more expediency, I'd recommend you connect the phone to the computer whose iTunes you have associated the phone with and do a manual backup onto local storage.
    That way, you can have the double assurance of having backups and when doing the restore thru iTunes, the info will get placed back on the phone the quickest.

    You can update directly to iOS 6 now. Not updating to iOS 5.1.1 does not matter. If you have updated the iPad before, you know what to do.

    Further, you can always make an appointment at the Genius Bar of your nearest Apple Store and take the machine there for free advice and basic diagnostics (though any service may cost money outside the warranty).
    Finally, Apple offers a 14-day, no-questions-asked return policy. If your machine isn't working properly right out of the box, take it back and get a different one.

    Windows 2000? You can't update iTunes beyond version 7.3.2, but a reinstall of your current build won't hurt the library.

    Have you failed to maintain a backu copy of your computer?
    If so, then you can transfer itunes purchases from your ipod>  File>Devces>Transfer Purchases

I use a USB cable and when unit and computer are connected the ipod screen lights up and then goes dark.  The ipod click wheel and button do not work even when the screen is up (shows menu).  If usb disconnects the unit immediately goes dark.     That's usually a good indication that your iPod battery's is shot and in need of a replacement.  If you'd like, Apple can swap out the battery for a flat fee.

    Now more recently It will only allow me to backup 5 files total. Erasing and overwriting my 5th every time.

  • OS Volume not supported ... will that issue ever be tackled?

    Hi,
    I got really annoyed today when I tried to install CS3 on my Mac because of this (probably famous) "OS Volume not supported" pop up. A little google research quickly resolved that it was the case sensitivity choice for my filesystem which causes all this trouble.
    Does Abobe care about this issue at all or is it some really difficult intrinsic problem that keeps CS3 from working on this plattforms? As a developer it appears to be rather simple to get a couple filenames spelled correctly, but apparently this seems to be to much for a multi-million-dollar project, how sad is that?
    Allow me a last comment .. as you (Adobe) obviously do not care too much about this issue, at least put it into the System Requirements in a prominent spot, so people like me would have a chance to find out ..

    I'd say they care enough to add the warning. Used to be that the bad news was discovered a whole lot later and a whole lot more painfully.
    Apple actually recommends against using such volumes (I believe) unless you have a really pressing need to do so.
    Bear in mind that most of the source code for the products in question existed before support for these volumes came along.

  • Can't Login to Firefox Sync on my Computer but I can Login in Firefox Home on my iPhone

    I had Firefox 4 beta installed along side firefox 3.6 before firefox 4 was released. After firefox 4 was released, I uninstalled the beta (ensuring not to delete my prefrences when uninstalling).
    Then I started up firefox 3.6 and I noticed that all my settings had vanished (but the addons were still there) and I was logged out of firefox sync. So with the confidence in mind that I had all my settings backed up to the firefox sync server, I attempted loging into firefox sync.
    It accepted my User Name and Password entries but for some strange reason, it refused to accept my key entry; which was in the older versions called the secret phrase entry (so I still had my secret phrase as the key). Attempted loggin into the latest version of FirefoxSync home on my iPhone and it worked as expected, plus it showed the correct number of bookmarks and history infos.
    Why isn't firefox sync accepting my sync key, aka secret phrase? I 99% doubt this but could it be getting blocked by some entries in my "host" file as I recall adding tonnes of adblocking entries to it; preventing my computer from wasting bandwidth loading them.
    BTW I attempted loggin into this firefox sync site and it kept showing me that it couldn't log me in :( Or is the site not meant for viewing what's stored on the server?

  • If my iPad doesn't charge when connected to my computer, could that affect my file sharing?

    I am trying to share a file via iTunes on my computer to an App on my iPad and keep getting an error. The file is working from other computers. The only thing I noticed is my iPad is not charging when plugged into the computer. Since this is a USB power issue, could that have something to do with why my file won'tsync properly to my iPad?

    When you say that your iPad is not charging, are you seeing "Not Charging" in either the status bar (unlocked) or in the middle of the screen (locked)?
    If so, this is indicative of the fact that your computer's USB ports do not emit enough wattage to charge the device while it is in use. (i.e. out of sleep, with screen on)
    Put the iPad to sleep (with the Sleep/Wake button) and let it be, and over time without any use, it should charge.
    However, as Philly Phan said, provided that the device's battery still contained an adequate charge, it should not affect the file sync.
